SPOILERS THROUGHOUT!

Lets get right down to it:

Sound: Always great. The Twilight Town theme just makes me feel fuzzy inside. I could listen to it all frickin' DAY! 10/10

Graphics: Awesome, but I felt like they jipped us cinema scene wise. Most of them were cutscenes where the characters mouths moved unsynced. Rarely would you see them with facial expressions and what not. The graphics at the end were mond boggling so, Kupos Kudos for that. 8/10

Difficulty: This is where things get a little bad. Way too overly easy on some parts and way to frickin hard on others. You know, like when that time you went Anti Form against Xaldin. The final boss was also too hard. And that whole Mickey thing, the only times I died, that is probably about three, they were all times that I couldn't use Mickey. Still haven't used him. 5/10

Playability: Controls really easy to use. Takes but a few minutes to get used to. Fighting is addictive no matter how formulaic it gets at times. Anyone can easily pick it up and have fun. Attracts those of all ages. Yada yada.Rough pacthes at spots, but its all good. I loved the speed in The Pride Lands, but I hated Atlantica and its unrythmic rythm games. 8/10

Story: Great, but not what I was expecting. It answered every single quyestion I had after the first game and answered a few more that I didn't have. The story is dark and mysterious. You really grow attached to all of the characters, that's how real the are. I felt bad everytime I had to take out an Orginization XIII member, especially Axel and Demys. I almost cried. But yeah, I was hoping for more of the symbolism type thing like in the first game. Not only that, but some of the repated world's plots were a little on the boring and stupid side, especially on the second visits. Disney had a chance to make new stuff but they just salvaged stuff they didn't already take from the movies. 7/10

The Retro/Sequel Facter: It didn't have a lot of the stuff I wanted back. No Twilight Town, no Neverland, No Alice in Wonderland, and they kept Atlantica. I muted my T.V. every time I went there. I died a little on the inside from what I gathered from watching them. Almost none of the old enemies. Okay, that's a lie, but not any of the one I wanted to return. They kind of brought back the Red Nocturnes and what not, but too late and too big. No behemoth, or that I can remeber. They only kept one Gmae screen that I can remember, the Olympus Coliseum, but that place got totaled. You sucked on this one Squenix. 4/10

Overall: 7/10

Ah, Kingdom Hearts II. Months and Months of frantic waiting with friends came down to this.

Kingdom Hearts II starts off where Chain of Memories left off. Although you don't NEED CoM, (I don't have it) it's VERY useful to have a brief knowledge of what happened in the game. (Check Wikipedia.org and type Chain of Memories) Finishing the original KH is a must if you want to have any idea of what is going on. The game starts off with a three hour prologue, which is a strange mix of being the most dark, exciting, and tedious part of the entire game. Afterward you're put back in charge of Sora, Donald, and Goofy. You explore new worlds just like the last game, and I personally feel a huge improvement over the choice in the worlds. The Square-Enix team pushed to make major improvements on the things gamers hated in the last game, while still adding original elements. The gummy ship is one example. Once a boring diversion is now a full-blown game with different levels and secrets. The final level makes my heart race with exitement. An original feature is the reaction command. This allows Sora to accomplish specific moves depending on the situation. While this makes the boss battles an absolute blast, common enemies become too easy. And I would put forward that the entire game is too easy. I died twice the entire game. But it was well written, fun, and worthwhile to play.

Sound: Same as KH, so good. Voice acting was absolutely incredible - and Christopher Lee playing DiZ was just phenominal! (Christopher Lee played Saruman from Lord of the Rings.) *Hums Sanctuary, the new theme song for KH2* The only reason this category isn't a perfect 10 is because of Atlantica's songs. Those things made my ears bleed. (VG Cats Comic:Kingdom Hearts II:Finny Fun) 9/10

Graphics: Pushes the PS2 to its limits, with absolutly no lag. They really take the essence of each world, but to see cartoony Sora in the detailed PotC world looked kind of awkward. Love everything else, though! 9/10

Story: A kind of take and give from the last game. Organization XIII, the Nobodys, and the great choice of worlds made the story memorable. While I love how detailed it was, it lost many of the hidden meanings that the first game had. All that's left is darkness, light, and nothing, and it's not done that well either. I miss the hidden thoughts upon darkness, light, power, true friends, and how the first game completely surrounded the topic of love without even touching it. Being a some, it's too big of a loss. 7/10

Gameplay: Controls are smooth and easy to handle. It's made a huge improvement over the last game. Each battle feels like a thrill ride, when in fact all you're doing is hitting the x button over and over again. Gummy ship levels have DRAMATICALLY improved, yet I feel confused trying to build one. Levels are also much better designed. Swiching control of the camera to the right joystick does improve control dramatically, but it makes it much harder to move through the menus. That's ok, since you don't use it much anyway. Drive Modes are just...just... so KUPO! 9/10

Difficulty: I'm depressed about this one. I died twice in the entire game because of neglect. Why they lowered the difficulty AND THEN added an easy mode is beyond me. I'm not counting Dymitrix water clones ether. If you don't defeat ten clones in ten seconds, you lose the battle and have to do it again. No explanation why, just a loss. And when you're fighting a thousand heartless, I WANT TO FEEL LIKE I'M FIGHTING 1000 HEARTLESS! Is that too much to ask, kupo? Proud mode offers a challenge, and it is actually possible to die in Twilight Town without trying too. That alone is giving difficulty a pathetic 4.5/10

Replay Factor: Modertly High. After you cruise though the main story, there's always the hidden items and very difficlult Jiminy's Journal to complete. Proud Mode offers much needed difficulty to the story, although a little too much. You'll get your fill by the end. In the last version though, hours upon hours were spent leveling at Olympus Stadium. Now with no experience offered there, much of the time spent is wasted, and therefore less time is spent.

All in all, it's a worthy sequel, and deserves recognition. It forgets some of the things that made the original truly great, but it adds some great moments. The moments like Roxas fighting Axel (2nd time) or the Twilight Thorn made the experience worthwhile. Heck, I would have been happy just with the trash-talk between Cloud and Squall(Leon). It was a truly fun time. Writing this has made me truly want to pick up my controller and go defeat Sephiroth. Excuse me for a second.

Overall (not average score): 7.5/10

EDIT: Everyone should know I created this WITHOUT reading Sieg Reyu's review first. Now it surprises me how closely our reviews are. I didn't think anyone else would complain about the lack of symbolism.

Unlike GM I've actually read both of the reviews and there isn't anything that they haven't said that I probably wouldn't say. There are still some problems that could have been easily fixed that just bugged me because they weren't fixed. The camera angles and the confusing storyline that makes you wish you played CoM. The camera angles aren't as bad as they were in the first game and you finally have a nice control on them by being able to use the second analog stick (instead of those craptastic controls with camera on top). The 3-4 hour beginning didn't bug me that much because it made sense to the storyline of the game and would have left me confused (can't go into detail due to spoilers. sorry folks). I did have more fun in the new gummi ship mini-game though. The garage upgrades as you progress through the game and gummi ship peices are harder to obtain leaving it almost impossible to fill out how many gummi peices you have. You also unlock more gummi ships the better you do in a level. Then we get down to the other mini-games and there are plenty to go around. To sum it up easily: Jiminy's Journal makes it hard for you to reach the near impossible goals on the Hunny Slider and Battle Arena mini-games. The rest of the game has varying difficulty which kinda bugs me. Most of the game is easy, but once you reach one of the Organization XIII members you will probably be blown away several times. This variety in difficulty might seem like a nice mix up, but it doesn't match the flow of the rest of the game making it seem weird. The music is top-notch Disney music remixed by the masters of all gaming music Squenix. However, making your music into a game level that made me feel gay just isn't cool. I also wish that they would have gone with another song by Hikki. The opening sequence just made her sound like Cher. The graphics are some of the best the PS2 has produced so far (SotC has to be the best). They flow smoothly with a nice frame rate and the hands and other appendiges on Sora and friends don't look as blocky anymore. Nothing else here is new. Same gameplay with a few new combos that look cool. Overall it's all about how awesome it looks in the game when you take down your thousandth nobody offering pleasure and stimulation for your cornial nerves, ear drums, and taste buds. It's just too bad that it doesn't do the same for the appendiges stuck on the end of your limbs.

Sound: Top notch with a few songs mixed in that make me feel gay. The sound effects match in nicely and are seemlessly put in with the gameplay experience.

Graphics: Top notch PS2 graphics that don't slow down for anything. They run faster than your grandma chasing after that last twinkie.

Gameplay: It was just there to look cool. Don't be expecting much to do with your hands except mash X and every once in a while press triangle. It looks cooler than it feels.

Overall: Great game with a semi-decent storyline. I'm just afraid that if you were looking for something a bit more in-depth gameplay wise besides a bunch of fun mini-games than you're just setting yourself up for an almost mindless button masher. X, X, X, X, TRIANGLE! You get the picture.

GlassGothX rates Kingdom Hearts II with a 7/10

I'm not gonna spend a long time going over this, but....

The Ultima weapon...what's the use? One of the Orichalcum+'s is in The World That Never Was, so you don't get to show it off to the terrified Heartless and/or Nobodies that much...

Sephiroth...my cousin and I were level 52 at the end of the game when we beat it, but you need to be somewhere up towards level 80?? Insanity, I say!

Secret bosses...there are none! I liked the function that you could go back after the game was beaten and kill off uber-Heartless on the first one, but no, they have to ruin all of my fun.

The storyline...ten times better than the the old one. That was a top reason I played the game; because there were so many twists.

Overall...personally, if there had been forms and Nobodies in the original, this one wouldn't have been much better.
