I am so very tired of random begging pm's....I closed my pm's off to everyone but friends, so then I got begging in my profile comments, ARGH said I. I closed off the profile comments with a shake of my head and a muttered "that'll teach ya to beg" thinking I had the upper hand. Then a clever few beggars figured out that they could send trades begging for donations. I have placed them on ignore and denied them the right to make my life hell.
This was all before I found out I had accidently become Gaia's version of middle class comfy! I have purchased things for people, don't get me wrong I am not overly greedy with my gold. I have bought hooker boots, horns of the demon, donated a few tickets here and there to good hard working non begging people who are on my friends list. That is the trick to getting a donation from me, I must know you are worthy by at least having chatted with you a few times.
But now this takes the cake, I had a kid beg at me through a so called friend.... He mailed the pm to the friend who forwarded it to me. Not just once but several of them. I finally placed them both on ignore and washed my hands of it. But one of the lines in the exchanging pm's caught my eye, I had written Yes by God at this point I am worth more gold then God himself has angels and ya know what kid I worked for every ounce of it. Therefore it stands to reason if I worked and made gold you too would get gold if you worked. BTW congrats you are now unable to ever contact me again...."
I took that basic concept and acknowledged I am Gaia comfy, and damn mean about begging..... here is my new siggy.....
I have more gold then God has angels and you can't reach me to beg LMAO.
Now I want something mean enough to make them understand I hate beggars but not rude or crude. This is mom's account after all. Do any of you have suggestions????
I tried the polite "Please do not beg from me I never donate to strangers" I kept getting friends requests and pm's that said "HI LETS BE FRIENDS AND YOU CAN GET ME THIS...."
I am at a loss as to what to put in the siggy to make it very clear never to approach me with begging. Please help, and yes I suppose on second thought the siggy could be mean as hell and I wouldn't really mind if it meant I could again open up my profile and mail.

rofl I know whatcha mean. What I've done is just PM them back and say "I am on a quest so you should donate to me instead." I rarely hear back again from them.
One kid did send me 750 g though, so I sent him 750 g back whee And another sounded totally confused as to why he should give me gold. Then I asked him if it was so weird, why he would expect me to give him gold. That shut him up.
But yeah, tis annoying. I haven't had it so much this month cuz I'm not vending. Been fishing for a junk trophy so haven't been in the Exchange or the MP, but for the past few months it's been at least 8, usually 10 to 15 PMs daily begging stressed

I could try the answers you gave but honestly my patience is shot in the hinney due to dealing with a lot of home stress. I simply do not feel up to dealing with kids or even worse begging adults.

Polka, you use a similar tactic to what I use. When anyone comes up to me begging I always ask what they are trying to get. When they tell me that, i then say. "Allright, I'll donate 10% of what you need for your item to you, if you donate 10% of what I am questing for"
Usually these n00bs only want a few K.... So they think this is a great deal, replying with: "Sure, what are you questing for?"
My response "Sash..."

Sadie: Yeah, it's fun a few times but it does get tiring after a while. I really love when someone wants me to give them some 5K item and their avatar is worth like 100K stare

Mine has stopped the pm's for me, but I still get the occasional "Hi I was fishing and saw you in the same room so here join my guild" type requests, I just click the "decline" and trash them. whee
