Alright. I just got my MP3 player yesterday, its a Creative Zen Nano plus. Its only about 1GB but I'm happy with that.
But when I listen to it, it'll just shut off about a minute after I turn it on. Like its out of power, and It was a brand new AAA battery. It had all three bars. Full. and it was the battery it came with. So ..I experimented a bit, I put a different battery in. Different brand. And this one has only 1 bar left of power, and I've been listening for about 6 or 7 minutes, and it hasn't shut off....
Old battery works better than a brand new one?
WTF@confusion.
Help? Suggestions? Advice?

the batteries they usually come with are crap and never work properly. i suggest getting some sort of recharger for batteries cuz those mp3 players can really eat batteries.

I have a 40gb Zen Jukebox and sometimes it'll shut down right after I start it up. Usually you have to charge the players battery 3 or 4 hours before using it, maybe thats why.

agreed with evilbrainbabies, you'll end up spending a fortune on batteries if you dont get rechargable ones, especially if you use the mp3 player a lot

yup. thats why i went for something that can be recharged without the batteries. the ipod and a couple others do the same thing. which is pretty good. cuz as lily said, the batteries are a fortune, and only last a few hours(if that)

yeah I'm lucky with my mp3 player, if you leave it on charge for a while the batteries last a week or so which is pretty good considering the amount I use it.. I wouldnt wanna be replacing batteries every week though sweatdrop

agreed. i love the ipod for two reasons, the memory. 30 gb is great! and the rechargable battery. i dont have to constatly fiddle with it, trying to open in, afraid to even break it. and then charge a triple a battery

there are down sides of course to the ipod... like the sensitivity on the scroll thing pisses me off. and also fact that you have to convert all your mp3 into the itunes format... did you have to do anything like that with yours?

I dont like it when I try to use my friend's ipod, I'm too heavy handed with it lol mine just has normal buttons. At first the software really pissed me off cause it's quite hard to use but I've got the hang of it now and it's ok

well specifically i wanted the ipod for its memory. as well i heard things like it cut alot of the static sounds you can hear in cds. and it does surprisingly. there were alot of good things about it. as well you can hold pictures and movies on it, which i dont really care too much about but i use it with my art work some times.

Yeah, that's normal. The batteries that came with the MP3 are always the sucky ones. It's because they've been there for so long! So yeah... mine did that too. But all's good now! biggrin

Okay, as far as your battery problem, that same thing used to happen to my iPod, the whole no battery power even though there should be thing. Did you get a warranty on your mp3 player? Because if you do you can take it back to where you bought it and they might give you a new one... if you don't have a warranty, well, good luck.

It may be the batteries like some people said or it could be something as simple as what I did with my iPod that caused it to do the opposite & turn on at random intervals. You could have set it on a sleeptimer or it may have come that way, so check to see if there's any way that could be possible. I had mine on an alarm & it killed the battery by always randomly turning on.
