Well, I'm new here and I'd like to say that I'm a bit shy about joining RPs. I usually like to talk to people for a bit and get a feel for the place.
Anyhow, I've noticed that if a RP is too far along, I'm not really comfortable jumping into it. Is anyone else a little intimidated by longer RPs? At what point, if ever, do you feel this?

Yeah. By the time you've read the first few pages of poses and 'caught up' it's already moved passed us.

I get that a lot as well. 3nodding I know where you can start out in! A Pirate's Tale, even though it may seem long, is just starting out and you'd fit right in as anything. Pretend to know any of the characters, and we'll bump you right along with us. Same with the Naruto RP, if you know a bit about Naruto. If not, there's a part that explains it, if you're willing to learn. ^^; OH! Apply to join into Xindiras' RP! It's fantasy, and once you get into it its great. Like writing a book. biggrin

yes, PLEASE join my RP, it only has 2 people right now >< and don't worry about reading too much all you need really is the first page and the last one and you know what's going on... you can post in the Aranor OOC thread first if you want.

Hi and welcome! I avoid Rps where the pages are numerous too... too much going on there that no one person seems to be able to sum up.
I'd scope out some of the newer Rps that are beginning or look for new ideas and new threads that may pop up soon biggrin

i feel uncomfortable joining anything at or over 7 pages of actual posting...with substance. after that, in my experience, it's awkward introducing a new character...it's like in D&D, when a PC dies, and another character (their new one) just...kinda...walks out of the bushes at night and joins up with them...

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. When I look for a RP I decide on it by the amount of posts. I hate feeling out of touch. You should have a look at bonelord's modern/romance too. It's not too long and easy to throw a character into.
