Sadhur (Western Desert Town and Spaceport) This is probably the most prosperous of the small desert towns. It acts as one of the Spaceports, leading out to a docking area for mining and exploration ships. It also has links to the Outer Defense Network, although this is rarely used. These make it important, and so it gets resources sent to it. It is friendly and welcoming, especially to weary travellers. It has two Aquamancers sent to look after its needs, so doesn't have to worry about food or water. It is a low-built town, and squashes right up against the outer dome, with a long, narrow viewing platform jutting out into space. It is a bit of a tourist attraction. If you get lost in the desert, you better hope you end up here.

The strong sunlight beat down upon Katsuro’s head, it wasn’t a gentle sunlight, it was harsh and bare, something that could strip you of your skin given half a chance. Katsuro stood up, the sand sliding off his body where it seemed to have blown over him, the wind was calm and gentle and caused the tips of the sand dunes to release the sand in the air like tiny pillars of smoke. “Crap” Katsuro said out loud, and with good reason, he’d been teleported, as far as he was concerned, to somewhere he didn’t recognise, the only desert he knew of was the great Bastian desert to the south, and that was not a place where any sane person would put themselves. Katsuro looked around scouting the horizon his arm partially covering his eye and he squinted to try and reduce the amount of sand he got in it, in the distance he could see a city, or something that might be a city, or a town perhaps he set off his arm covering his eye and he stared partially towards the ground; as he was walking he tried to remember what language the people of the desert spoke, he made some odd sounding vowel noises as he thought about the pronunciation of some basic Bastian words.

Katsuro was now walking rather quickly his feet sinking into the gently laid sand, no longer was the sun beating down upon his neck but the winds had picked up and the sands now battered his bare skin, it was like walking through sandpaper, he looked up and squinted trying to see where the town was, not far now he thought.
A few minutes later he walked into the bare streets, the wind tunnelled through the streets making some sections fiercer than others, as he was wandering something caught his eye; from anywhere on the world he was always able to find the nearest inn, pub, hotel or hostel. He made a run and opened the door, gently walking inside he brushed off the sand and in his best Bastian accent said “glethmor actung akitaire majo hellep”, well he thought he asked for a bed and a drink, what he actually said was “I require the services of your dog” an easy enough mistake to make in Bastian, but it was totally lost on everyone in the room, because as Katsuro looked up to see why no-one had replied everyone was staring at him, not because what he had said was odd but because he was the only human in the room.

((NPC time! If you don't want the NPCs just say and I'll delete. I felt like interfering a bit. blaugh ))
"What the hell'd 'e thay?" lisped a tall guy with scales, fangs and apparently only one leg. "I 'ave no bloody idea, mate. 'S your round though," replied another beastman, this one having big brown wings and a plume growing from his head. It trembled as he shook his head and muttered, "Bloody stupid 'umans, come in 'ere actin' like they never been in a beastman bar afore. If ya wanna gawk at someone else, there's a Sunchild 'angout just next door. They got some mean whiskey from what I've 'eard."
Everyone else was still watching him with some suspicion. This was one of the few parts of Sadhur where the races didn't get along too well. And what with him also being such an... Odd-looking man... Things might get a little complicated.

Katsuro Listened, the language wasn't Bastian, not even close, the dialect and use of phonemes was a lot less complex admittedly but he still didn't have a clue, and it was also at this point that Katsuro realised that he wasn't in the Bastian desert, in fact he wasn't even on his home world anymore.
Katsuro walked over to the bar with several eyes still watching him, but Katsuro was more interested in what they were saying, trying to depict any common words letter or anything that he might be able to use to engage in some sort of conversation with the barman to get a drink or something. he sat up at the bar sitting on one of the oddly shaped stools.
Katsuro listened and then started spouting random words that he overheard hoping that he'd get something, he also looked at the names of the bottles on the wall and ended up pointing at the one that looked mostly normal.

As he spoke, several pairs of glittering, narrowed eyes rested on him. "What did you just say?" A huge, muscular woman unfolded herself from the shadows. The only things giving her away as being not quite human were her size, her teeth and her facial stripes, which contorted as she snarled. "Stupid beastman, gawk at someone else? Are you suicidal?!" She extended a hand the size of Katsuro's head and attempted to grab his shirt.

The huge woman lifted him up from the stool; it fell over as she picked him up as if he was no more than a bag of sugar. “what did you say?” She growled to him showing her full set of teeth It was now at this point Katsuro decided that saying random words he heard in a bar was a bad idea not because he understood what the woman was saying but because he was at least 2ft in the hair being held up by a woman who’s muscles were bigger than that of any bodybuilder or barbarian he’d seen and who’s teeth looked like they could bite through steel, oh and she was pissed. Katsuro remained silent as the large woman snarled something in front of him, he needed to do something and to do something fast. He closed his eye and concentrated on seeing, his view spread to him it was like watching a film and the camera is panning, out the nearby buildings were still being savaged by the sandstorm that was blowing through the city, there seemed to be a small alleyway a few buildings away that had a perfect place to lose someone if you were being chased, especially if visibility was low. Katsuro opened his eye to the Beastwoman screaming in his face again, he grabbed her arms, used them as a pivot and spun himself upwards landing a decent kick under her jaw, she gave a short yelp in pain and dropped him, Katsuro landed in his front, rolled forwards and bolted for the door, some others got up from their chairs and stool and tried to stop him but only succeeded in a sluggish attempt and missing him, or falling over depending how drunk they were. Katsuro smashed open the door the splinters and shards scattered everywhere, sand started piling into the bar. The beastwoman looked at the door holding her jaw, which was probably dislocated now, her eyes glazed over and when you looked at them it was like looking into pure hatred and rage. As she walked over to the door there was a loud click as she put her jaw back in place, she then exited the now silent bar into the storm.

((Heh, wasn't sure if you still wanted me to play the NPC or not.)) A few hours of aimless wandering later and the tigerwoman was sobering up. She'd had trouble seeing anything in the raging sandstorm so she hadn't found Katsuro again. Thinking back though... Huh, he probably didn't know what he was saying. Unusual but then funny things have been happening all over, or so the papers say. Maybe I should find him and apologise. She walked through the sand-logged streets, the wind now back to a reasonable level. He'd probably be having a hard time if nobody could understand him.

((yea sure play NPC for a while until Katsuro gets a friend then i can take over for a bit and integrate her into the storyline.))
Katsuro had ran into the small alleyway and jumped over and landed in a few boxes of stuff, he huddled together using the boxes to protect him somewhat from the sand but his eye stung a lot from running in the storm. Katsuro stayed in his makeshift shelter for a few hours waiting for the wind to die down and lying low in case that tiger woman found him and beat the living daylight out of him 'what was that thing' he thought to himself, he'd never seen anything like it, he pondered for a bit on what had happened.
A while later he noticed the winds die down and got out from his box he peeped round the corner and noticed the light beginning to fade as well as the fact that he was using the pubs alleyway, he turned around and decided to head in the opposite direction in case the tiger woman had come back, and Katsuro froze, all he could see was a giant panes of glass in a triangular shape connected together by a giant metal structure and beyond that.. space; the stars and the darkness he hadn't noticed it before because of the visibility in the storm, but he was as frightened as he was amazed at the gigantic structure, and he realised it went higher than he could see and must cover the entire desert. he wandered into the street still looking at this magnificent structure when something caught his attention, the tiger woman was standing right in front of him

((Yupyup, that was the plan. 3nodding )) The woman stopped cradling her rapidly-healing jaw and waved at Katsuro. Her memory was hazy, but it was hard to forget a man who looked that unusual. "Hey, dude! Sorry about earlier... Ah, he ain't gonna understand me..." She shook her head and then put her hands up in what she was pretty sure was a universal sign of peace. She wasn't too bright, and had no grasp of languages, but she knew that somebody in Aronath did. If she could just get him an escort there, he'd be fine. Not that she'd be able to make him understand that.

Katsuro stood there, while the beastwoman seemed to wave her arms in friendly manner suggesting that she didn't want to harm him, she then gestured for him to come out of the middle of the road as people were looking at him strangely. He was a bit uneasy but the slow moving van shoved him out of the road, she seemed to be the only person here who actually seemed to notice me Katsuro thought and walked over to her not bothering to talk in case he got a similar reaction to last time, she seemed to say things to him and used arm and hand gestures mostly, Katsuro roughly worked out that she was apologising and that there was somewhere he should walk to? a building of some sort probably a university or library. Katsuro nodded knowing that this beastwoman was the only person willing to help currently and he could use all the help he could get, Katsuro smiled and pointed to himself "Kat - Su - Ro" he said slowly hoping that she would understand, she pointed at him, "Kat-su-ro" she said, he nodded and smiled, at least she knows his name now. She then pointed at herself.
((don't know what you want to call her so I'll leave you to continue this bit on, and everyone understands basic hand and arm guestures biggrin ))

"Hm. Interesting name." She pointed to herself. "Taruka. Pleased ta meetcha." Right, now... Crossing the desert, and then going through the forest... Ah, man, it's gonna take forever to get this kid some help. "You stick close to me now, and don't go mimicking anything anybody says. Gets ya in trouble," she explained uselessly. "Now, let's go find my friend." She grabbed his hand and started pushing her way through the thickening crowd, hoping he'd get the message and follow. On the outskirts of the city was an engineer who specialised in all-terrain vehicles. He'd even designed some for WiseJay, not that they'd used them yet. He also happened to be Taruka's significant other, and a cyborg Sunchild.

Katsuro had never seen a cyborg before, he'd never seen a sunchild or a beast woman either but he didn't feel nervous around them now, he had only been in this place for a short while but he was getting the hang of it. He'd been in rougher places on his home world.
Taruka took katsuro to meet her significant other, he was tall and had a friendly smile on his face, he didn't properly greet Katsuro because he knew he didn't speak the language. "take him to the university in Aronath i know a professor there that specializes in languages she might be able to help better than anyone else around here" he said to Taruka, Taruka took the information in slowly and got a little jealous, she always did when he spoke of "old friends" he knew but at this rate she had no choice if she wanted to get Katsuro some help. After an hour or so a large multi tracked sand steamer pulled up beside them, designed to travel in the desert for Long periods of time, Taruka gave her gratitude and climbed into the steamer with Katsuro and they head out into the desert towards Aronath
