Shaguur City

From the surface, this looks like a small collection of shacks and stone ruins. Find the heavily-guarded access points, and you'll be led into a huge cave network, bustling with life. It's lit with a mixture of torches and sparse strip lighting, so constantly has shadows dancing on the walls. In some of the outlying caves you'll find flourescent fungi, and that's when you know to start heading back. Any further, and you could be lost for all eternity. Muahahahahahaha!!! Ahem.

As Lamia walked though the area she was quiet annoyed. "A city? This looks like a bunch of ruins to me! Oh if I ever see that guy again I'll show him some thing or two!" As she walked by one of the stone ruins she kicked it, furthering the process of its decay. Of course the stones got their revenge because just as she was about to fuss more she tripped on one of them and fell on her face. An inhuman growl came from her throat as she got up and brushed herself off. Peering around she saw something that looked like a way out. "This better be a way out of this good for nothing place." She was going to use some choice words but decided against it, wasn't worth the waisted breath. Once to the access points she saw some guards. "Hey, is this the Saguur city? It looks more like a graveyard to me..." Tapping her foot she waited for a reply.

The guard laughed at the woman's impatience. "You must be having a really bad day if you think this is the city!" he chuckled. "C'mon, I'll lead you down. Stay behind me, you don't wanna get lost."
He turned, gestured to her, and pushed aside a large stone-and-metal door. A few minutes' walking down the dark, damp passageway would lead the two of them into an enormous torchlit cavern several miles wide, with tiers upon tiers of walkways and thousands of people all going about their daily lives.
"This is the city!" he added, with an expansive gesture. "Gotta go, can't leave other weary travellers for one pretty face!"
He gave her a sheepish smile and started back out.

Flashing a smile at the guard for the comment, "Thank you very much, hope to see you around here sometime." Once she saw he was gone she looked out to the city. Lost in the moment she gazed, "So lovely, no sunlight to hurt this skin." After a moment or two she shook her head out of this spell. Starting down the torch lit street she looked first for a little home she could afford. "I'll find the bars around here later" ,she reminded her self. Making her way through the busy people she started to look for an apartment, or even a cheap condo.

Lamia trudged though the dimly lit city quickly. Her eyes scanned all the different signs around her. She just barely skimmed what they said, she was only looking for one thing. A new home. All the other words seemed to be just a blur, nothing important. Finally she saw a tiny apartment building. Walking over to it she opened the old stone doors and stepped inside. Luckily she found the owner there. He was collecting rent. Right away she talked to him. They discussed with one another and soon she found herself with a 2 roomed apartment that was placed on the top floor. Once inside her new home she moved around in it. "Perfect, its just what I needed. Just needs a few homey touches. That is once I get payed." Sighing she realized she spend even some of her "food money" on this place. She needed a job, and soon. Walking out to the window she looked out to the city and its many lights. Maybe, just mabye, this would be the place she could really live.

The next morning Lamia decided she'd vist some other places. "I got a house, I need a job. If not in this lovely city then in another. Ok I can do this!" Stepping out of her new home she walked around the city in search of a bar for a job. If not that she'd step out into a lighter world. Shivering at this though she shook her head. Maybe she'd try and start her own bar before that. The sun burn her pale skin so bad she couldn't stand to move. As she walked about she wondered if she'd ever bump into another fellow vampire. They had to be about this city, it was pefect for them. Her stomach grumbled, she needed food. Even blood would do at this point. With a sigh she wondered if any human wanted to know how a vampire bite felt...

Chthon was walking through the ruins thinking to himself This is getting quite tiresome... Having to walk this far... Continuing to walk in the direction that he was going, he wasn't paying attention to where he was going because he was being drawn to the dark city that was going to be his home. Chthon finally noticied something coming up in front of him. It was the entry point. Finally, I made it... He walked up to one of the guards and asked him to show him the way to the city.

The guard smiled. "Alright, sir, if you'd just follow me?"
She was aware of not looking too guardlike, being rather small and slender even for a faerie, but she didn't mind. She was good at her job.
She opened the wooden trapdoor that made up this access point, and slid down the short ladder beneath. "Stay behind me, you don't want to go down any wrong routes now."
This was a slightly longer, twistier journey than Lamia's but came out at a similar point, into the subterranean city.

Chthon followed her down the ladder "After you then..." He waved his hand foward to gesture that he was ready to follow her. Chthon looked the guard up and down This faerie looks rather small... but he didn't really care. The size of the person dodn't matter to him, it was their inner strength. And by the feel of it, she was quite strong.

Lamia stepped out onto the dimly lit city street. She realized she was starting to get lonly, only alittle. "I wonder if that nice guard would know where some bars are..." Pondering this for a moment, she set off to the front of the cave to find the guard.

The faerie nodded, and started walking. She made her way through the tunnel network by instinct, remembering everything she'd been taught as a recruit. After a while, dim light was visible at the end of one of the tunnels, but she stopped, listened and then pulled up sharply, signalling to Chthon to do the same. "The spiders're out, we should try to get into the city before they come this way," she whispered urgently. "Run, quick, quiet, and I'll sound the alarm."

Faith knew this level almost as well as she knew Koryo, which was extremely well.
She was familiar with all the levels, being on the run earlier in her life meant she knew a lot of people as well as places.
She had found her feet instinctively taking her down here after seeing Matt. She wanted to see another old familiar face.
She knew all the guards, and the tunnels, after having got lost in them half a century ago. She now knew them like the back of her hand, but still liked to have a chat with the guards whenever she ventured down here.
She was just approaching one of the few entrances when she saw a guard she hadn't seen for a very long time.
Her trent coat billowed behind her as she picked up her pace as she drew closer to the littel faerie.

Once Lamia finally reached near the front of the cave she had to sit down and take a break. It didn't seem so far last time, of course, that was probly because she was excited. "A nice short break won't hurt." Spotting a public seat near an odd cave opening she ploped down and spralled out on it.

"Those are some things that you don't have to worry about with me. Let's go then. You lead the way..." Chthon signaled motioned again that he was ready to follow her. He bent down low and was ready to go as fast as he could while following the guard. Chthon wasn't really worried, he knew that the spiedrs were coming and knew if they moved fast enough, they would make it.

The faerie nodded and ran silently into the city, her laser gun raised and readied the whole time. She would've acknowledged Faith, but when she was working she was totally focused, and she wasn't even about to make an exception for an old friend.
When she reached the end of the tunnel, she threw herself flat against the wall, nodding her head toward the city to urge Chthon to go there. Without a second's hesitation, she took down a microphone from an alcove in the wall, and pressed a button to start a siren.
"All security personnel to Entrance 3! We have a code red! I repeat, all security personnel to Entrance 3!" she shouted. It wouldn't be long before the spiders found their way into the city, and it was her job to protect the people.
