Climate Control Area

This is the area that is mainly responsible for the climate of each area of Geopolis. Each area requires specific conditions, and this is the control centre which keeps the machinery responsible for each level in check. Even the smallest change in the settings here could be catastrophic if done wrong, which is why it is only accessible to qualified personnel. This is more hospitable than most of this level, as it is basically one enormous computer and therefore requires a lot of cooling. Just don't sit on any levers or push the big red button. mrgreen

The young man peered nervously at the control panel. 'Peering' and 'nervous' were his default expressions, but this time they were for real. Something seemed a little... Off. But then, this was his first time overseeing the wall change.
He reached for the communicator sitting on the desk next to him. Maybe he should ask for some help. But then, he didn't want everyone laughing at him. If he managed to make this work all by himself, he'd be promoted to defence for sure! He grinned, revealing several rows of shiny golden-hued teeth, the only things that had ever given him away as an android. He was probably one of the best designs out there. Too bad that still didn't make him handsome. Oh well.
He prodded the flashing green light again. Green meant good, right? So therefore there was obviously nothing to worry about. Although he did vaguely remember something he'd been told about when that wasn't the case... What to do, what to do?
"No! I will be calm and collected in a crisis, I will not panic about one little thing which may or may not be a malfunction. Everything will be fine. It will all be OK. I'll just keep an eye on the situation, and if anything escalates I'll know exactly what to do. I hope..."

The android ambled over to the flashing com line, and switched it on. "Hullo, this is Climate. What's goin' on?"
"This is Water!" came the panicked female voice on the other end of the line. "We need some data for the walls. Something's wrong."
"Just... Give me a second." He tried to sound cool and collected, but there was a hint of uncertainty in his voice. If he'd got it wrong... He didn't even want to think about it. He tapped a few keys and the display changed from the usual lit-up map to a list of numbers and charts. "Oh no... No, no, no..." He raced back to the com and yelled, "GET EVERYONE OUT OF THERE! There's a lot of magical interference, I don't know what from. But it's jamming the energy signal that keeps the new shield up! Don't let the old shield go down because if it does, a lot of people will die."
He slammed the button that switched off the com, twisted into his seat and started desperately hammering buttons. He didn't know what to do, so he'd just try everything. He just hoped the people up there did their jobs...
