Let me explain this. I am in a homeroom and study hall with other kids that have AS. The problem is that they annoy the hell out of me and half the time I feel like hitting them because of it. The great majority have huge obsessions, and I don't have one. A few act like, in my eyes, idiots, and can't control themselves at all. I've tried tuning them out, putting on music, doing something else, pretty much everything.
Does anyone else have this same problem?
If you do, what do you do about it?
Some help or feeling that I'm not alone would be great.

it might be that there are some things they feel they have to do that you would get annoyed at anyone about. Like, there are some words, and if people say these particular words it really annoys me. It might be hard, but some people have to do certain things.

Do other people with AS annoy me? Actually, no. And I'm very easily annoyed by other people, so that's saying a lot.

Then again, I've only known two other people with Asperger's Syndrome IRL. I'm surprised there's actually a separate class for people with it at your school. I'd have thought there wouldn't have been people for that to even have been possible.

It's the same with me, although admittedly the only other people with AS I know were those I met in elementary school, and I haven't seen them in years.

My little brother has Aspergers and me and him just cannot stand each other. He has an obsession with our cats and he will NOT let me touch them or come near them. And when I do, even without meaning to, he tackles me or tries to wrestle me to the ground screaming. Then he justifies this by saying I'm evil, because admittedly with animals I don't always know when to let go of them.

Aside from that I cannot stand the way he talks on and on about his interests and opinions that I do not agree with. He talks about things he obviously has no understanding of and mostly giving a negative view. Throws a fit when I try to correct him. Why is it that he always wants to get violent?

Another thing that really gets on my nerves about the kid..he's too flexible. He always finds ways to get into very odd positions when trying to fight me. And he will not admitt that he's weaker than me in any way.

Ahh. Last things, I swear. He's always trying to make horrible puns and copy lines from tv. Once even going so low as to copy the exact same joke I used only a moment before.

The only other person I've come in contact with that I think had Aspergers was a boy I was in the same room with for almost a half hour. Only meant to be introducing me to a class I will be taking next year.. This boy in question I'm suposed to be some kind of role model for while, quite frankly, after that short time I spent with him..He reminds me terribly of my brother. Got a big head and thinks that no one can beat him in his silly electronic games and has totally tv warped views on highschool.

*Sigh* Glad to have that outa my system.

Hehe... I don't know many people with AS, but there's only one person I knew, and I talk to her not at all anymore, but I didn't care for her too much, I don't know why, I just didn't...

I get along with children with classic autism and Downs, though, they're the nicest people I know, even if the ones I did know when I was younger tended to get violent towards me...

I don't personally know any aspies IRL, so I wouldn't know what it's like. I went to a group of 6-8th graders that were diagnosed as basically a person with aspergers that is older for the kids to look up to. Kind of explain my life to them and such. I never had any problems with them, they were pritty cool, they had their obsessions, like one kid who had such an obsession with trains and loved to explain them to me and I'm usually duh whenever trying to listen to him.

Hehe... I only know one person with AS, and we didn't get along the best, I felt on eggshels, because I read the books, I knew all the things that could go wrong, and it didn't work out...

We played Detectives, though... and interrogated our neighbors, printed out Paper Badges, that was fun...

I went to a special needs school where there were lots of different kinds of AS people. For the most part I like the company of AS people, cause they are the only ones intellegent and logical enough to really connect with me. But there were a few, like one that obsessed over sounds and repeated almost every line from shows he liked, mainly bullseye. Then there was another who also obsessed over sounds and continuously asked people what sounds different things make, when you got them together it was enough to make any sane person completely barmy within the span of 5 minutes, either that or drive them to double homocide. evil

Luckily the staff at the place were all barmy anyway, I mean who'd willingly spend time with people like this? and the rest of us AS students have already learned the knack for switching off and ignoring things we didn't want to hear, though with some of us it did tend to drive us mad and we satisfied ourself with fantasies of asking him what sound a pane of glass makes and then smashing it over his head. xp

People usually don't like people that share their same defects. I learned that from my childhood psychologist. For example, I'm a really naïve person, and I don't like people who believe everything they're told. Maybe that's why you don't like people with AS: they remind you of your own defects.

I've never met another Aspie IRL. I know someone personally online that has AS. And me and her get along great. I tend to share a bit too much info, and freak her out, but ... Hehe. WHo haven't I done that with?

I learned something knew and usefull today! biggrin

With me, I never really meet anyone in real life who had aspergers. But I did met someone who was autistic and he reminded me of myself so much. Though we had a small exchange of words and It was before I knew I had asperger's. But if I could I would have gotten to know him better!

I noticed from a young age that I was different. I learned when I was 16 (Currently 16) That I'm autistic.

Sure, I may not learn like everyone else ... But ... I want to be treated like everyone else! People tend to downtalk me, and call me stupid because, though I can hear what they are saying, I usually dont percieve it. Thats why I like talking online. I can re-read things ^_^

Sometimes people ask me if I'm deaf, cuz I dont listen well. Often, I do hear what they say, I just don't listen. Y'know?

yeah. my friend is like that. he is so ******** annoying sometimes. and he sometimes takes my stuff without permission. he still digs up his nose for some reason and he picks at stuff. plus he shows no emotion what so ever so he comes of as being obnoxious and rude. he told me that if there was something that he did was wrong i would tell him but i keep telling him that but he thinks im wrong. he always have to be right about something even if it was proven to be false he still goes by what he learned. he even tells me how my people in my manga should be. 'you dont look like a tiger person vivi you look more like a dragon'. its just a book and i interpret the way i want my characters to be. and i dont mean any disrespect to my friend but sometimes im like 'f***k off scream !'
