RP Book Project: Children of the Wood
I got the idea while I was reading on of my RP books one evening and I came across a Pre-Class description, because it has a picture of a attractive woman with it I was immediately interested. 3nodding Not that I always wasn't because I have known that pre-class for a long time, such a long time in fact that I had forgotten all about it. sweatdrop After reading it I just got the Idea for a new 'RP' for our group something I hope we can work on a little more seriously.
Ahem, now for the story idea or the campaign setting or something. The Pre-Class in named "Child of the Wood" and I was thinking of calling the RP or book "Children of the Wood" (how original!) Anyway, a child of the wood is a being that... hold it, I'll better just quote the story from the book because that makes more sense.
I Quote, Child of the Wood: "The children of the wood are often thought to be half Dryad because of their beauty and supernatural affinity with the trees and plants of the forest. Perhaps there is some truth to this belief, for it is only through the friendship and blessings of a Dryad that a character can become a child of the wood.
If nature is a boat floating gently in the water, the one could easily call the children of the wood the wind that blows the boat where they wish it to go. They are shepherds of the forest, gently watching over their flock with fierce protection. The power of nature lies in their fingertips, and they are a dangerous force when angered.
The first step to become a child of the wood begins on a cold night among the flowers of a sacred grotto. A Dryad mixes together an elixir made from the sap of her oak tree. The character who drinks this sap now has the capability to become a child of the wood, thus Dryads only give this honour to those they deem worthy." End quote.

Main Character Cast Aliysa:
Age: 15
Personality: Perpetually optomistic, but has a quiet disposition when alone, she tends to hermit whenever she can escape someone's notice, which is pretty rare.
Appearence
Medium-Height, Aliysa has long shining golden-blonde hair that is always just slightly curled whether or not she brushes it its always perfect. Her greenish-blue eyes and fair skin have made her the most beautiful girl in school and extremely popular.
Bio/History: Aliysa is always the center of attention both from girls who want to be her friend and boys who adore her. Aliysa is often told by her classmate that she's the prettiest girl anywhere. While she does manage to get fairly good grades Aliysa has a tendency to be lazy and usually manages to get out of whatever classroom assignment she has just by batting her eyes. Used to always getting her way she's also prone to throw the occasional tantrum. She lives with both of her parents and her sister in a house near the woods.
Aliysa is also known to be kind of scary at times, she's adamant about not only looking your best but being the best, her peculiar dislike of fairy tales supposedly comes from her feminism; a woman shouldn't need a prince to save her.
Aliysa's hobbies are: Daydreaming, reading, sleeping, looking in mirrors
Renee:
Age: 18
Personality: Generally easy going, except sometimes she tends to be a bith when you first meet her. She is extremely loyal to those she cares about freinds and family included. Renee loves playing games, almost anykind. She also loves just sitting with her friends watching TV together.
Appearence:
Renee has just below shoulder length hair, mainly blue black with highlights. The highlights used to be a bright blue purple but have now faded to gray. Her honey blonde roots are beginning to once again show. Her eyes are an emerald green with brown scetched in at the edge, only its called hazel.
Standing 5'1", she is rather short. Short but not skinny she weighs about 135 lbs. Yet, she isn't fat, all her weight seems to have gone to her curves and musles, because she still wears a size 6.
Bio/History: Renee had a prety messed up childhood, with a literally crazy mother. She raised he sister until she was finally taken out of the care of her mother at age 13. Her younger sister and herself for the first time had been seperated, she went to live with one grand parents, while Renee went with the other. During that time her sister seemed to grow un attached to her, so by the time their father managed to get custody of his to daughters, there was a wall between the two girls.
Renee didn't like liveing with her father, he always seemed to be drunk because he was so lonely. He never hit her, or abused her, but her mother had planted in her mind that he was the reason she was abandoned to live with her mother. Finally Renee's father meet a woman and changed not only his life around, but his realationship with his daughter. The woman became a constant in their life, and with her, they began to feel like a family.
During school, Renee spoke her mind, befreinding some, and irrateing others who didn't agree with what she had to say. Yet, the friends she did make, they were for life. 5 years later, now graduated from High school, with moving to even different cities through out the years, they all managed to keep in touch. Finally moving to go to different colledges, but in the same area, in Oakburg.

The relocation has bin done, everything remains preserved, and we are ready to contiue the project. The topic has bin unlocked so we can all post again, the 15 posts on the first page are there to keep most of the information on one page to keep things presentable.
To help those who forget the last posts in the old topic here they are again directed at babyangelgirl2 and HeeroMezuki:
Alexander Vandala Er, babygirl, this is not an RP, at least its not a true rp. We are trying to write a book, a book that is like an RP.. its difficult to explain, in fact, I don't know who to explain it, its its a book we write together much in the way that an RP is written together. But as it is a book and books need to be read-able and understandable, to get that result we have to plan things ahead and together decide on what our characters do. In a way all of us control all our characters, you help with mine and I help with yours both in creating them and in how they will act in the story.
The story-line is one that we will all decide on and all will decide on how it ends even before we write out how this happens. Surely we all dream of adventures we want to experience, treasures we want to find, challenges we want to overcome, powers we want to gain? All such goals must be fit neatly and excitingly (to a readers eye) to form our book, the tale(s) of our hero's.
Is this more clear? I hope it is I don't know how to say it otherwise.
Alexander Vandala You don't just 'wing at it' when writing a book but if you do think you can then be my guest and start writing.
Let's see, write your version of how you got to meet the Dryad who lives at Oakfort the Fortifided ruin at the forest edge of the city Oakburg. I haven't found a name for her so you may make up a trial name for her for now.
The characters you may include in your chapter are any of the children of the wood (we haven't made all of them up jet so you may make some trial characters for them if you need them), the local Sprite (grig) called Wig, The Dryad (duh!), and perhaps Kappa (a water sprite.)
Be my guest.
