Long ago in a distant land, a war not unlike this one raged between two proud peoples... the numerous ancient Ninja clans of the orient, and the collective number of pirate crews pillaging the seven seas. Both groups endured great fueds amongs each other, clan against clan, ship against ship, but the greater purpose for Ninja and Pirate alike was their constant hatred of each other. Usually this war was restricted to the unlikely conflict between two groups, but it was the death of the Master of the Thunder Clan (one of the greatest and most dangerous clans of them all) by the hands of Blackbeard himself that spawned the great Ninja-Pirate war. Since then the many Ninja clans have joined together to avenge the death of one of their greatest leaders, and though it may appear that neither Ninja nor Pirate appear to this day, their battle cries can still be heard. They appear in many forms, and as such their battles still wage on. (For example, every time you witness a pirate on these forms, a Ninja will be there to crush him down. As a result, the Pirates return in greater numbers to destroy the Ninja. This pattern repeats itself until we've lost all credibility and are chattering at our keyboards with such fury that the very skin erodes from our bones.)
One of the most contreversial legends among the Pirates and Ninja's alike is over the existence of an heir to the throne of the Thunder Clan. Though both groups deny these rumors, it is said that there may have been a forbidden union between the Master of the Thunder Clan and an infamous female pirate. This union may have resulted in a son, with a lineage from both Ninja and Pirate bloodlines that spanned centuries. The child was raised by his mother to be a pirate, but the inherent ninja traits within the boy soon developed. He posessed both the stealth and cunning of his Ninja ancestors, as well as the vengeful heart and craven mastermind of a Pirate. His mother encouraged him to follow both his Ninja and Pirate ancestries, and soon that boy grew and became a man. It is said that these traits made him a key factor in many Pirate victories to follow. Though many of his pirate brothers held hatred for him, hearing of the rumors of his mother's deciet, they could not deny the fact that this made him their greatest asset.
Later in his life, however, the boy was captured by a ninja warrior, a former follower of the master of the Thunder clan. This ninja easily recognized the boy to be the late master's son, and his own half brother. He taught the boy of the kindness and peace of the Ninja ways, and how the Pirates were destroying this way of life in order to gain acess to cache of treasure that posessed by the Ninja clans. A month later, the boy was set free, and soon after returning to his crew, he swore off allegiance to the pirates and destroyed the ship single-handedly. He escaped to the mountains where the Ninja live and helped them to defend their village in many seiges that followed.
It has been years since the boy was ever heard from, but his story lives on. Many believe that he died a few years ago, being 200 years old after all. But still some believe that the honor of the boy's combined bloodlines would not allow him to die, and that he lives on to this day, defending the way of the ninja and doing his best to keep peace among Pirates and Ninjas both. Regardless, there have been no written records of any encounter with the boy in over a century. In fact, most scholors still argue over the name of the boy, as Pirates refuse to speak it for their shame. It is a popular belief among these scholars that the boy's name was originally James Carter, but over the years mention of the boy in ninja scrolls shortened the name in two japanese symbols, roughly translated to say: Jay C.
I'm back, bitches.
