General Information and FAQ

The prides of West of Eden are groups of dragons with a common cause/goal/interest.

How many prides are there going to be?
Currently, the number of prides are going to be fixed to a small number. The number will remain limited until the guild is more active and I see the existing prides being used.


The purpose of having prides is for the promotion of group RP. And to give the more active owners/dreamers a way of showing how friendships and bonds have formed between their dragons. If you want to RP the interaction of just a few or a pickup hunting grouping, the main rp threads and the option of personal threads is there for those reasons. Prides are for the long haul, think of them as those who have come together to form a large extended family. Likewise, if you don't want to interact with others, but want to RP your dragons amongst themselves, you can make use of the option of each person being allowed to create one RP thread. Plus there is the Personal Journal Option in the journals subforum.


Each pride will have it's own RP thread. The thread will be set up and maintained by the POC of the pride. However this does not mean prides cannot interact with each other. Infact this is encourages, and can be done in the shop thread, or main RP threads.


No, if you are the POC of a pride and creating the pride thread. You will still be able to create your one rp thread for smaller interactions.


Nope, they don't. If you have more than one dragon, they may belong to different prides.


There are certain classes, like wild and loners, which by their very nature should not be found in a pride. This is not to say they could never end up there, just that seeing these types in a pride should be more the exception.



First check and see if any slots are open for creating one. If there are, then see about rounding up some other owners who share the desire and go about filling the application out.


More than likely, we'll ask that you join an existing pride, or try and tailor the concept to fit the existing slot openings. Else you can wait for a slot to open. You also have the option create the idea as your RP thread, however it will not be a recognized/offical pride.

General Application Requirements:
-There must be least five owners signed up on the prospective application. Owners may have more than one pet in the pride. Dream owners will also be considered, but there must be five separate people.
- Each Pride must have a POC (Point of Contact) and a back up for this person. This person does not have to be the same person who owns the pride leader, though in most cases it shall likely be the same.
- The form below must be filled out and submitted to this thread.
- Only Alphas or hunters may lead a pride. (Any hunters who do so will have their class changed to Alpha.)
- Only one of your dragons may lead an 'official' pack/pride with a thread. (IE: You can't have a monopoly on running prides) However, if you own an Alpha dragon, you may instead invent an 'unofficial' pride for them to lead if needed for roleplay purposes, but it will not be listed here, and the pride will not have its own thread.


Additional Information and expectations:

1. The POC is in charge of setting up and maintaining the pride thread. Thus updating the pride members list, pride information and as well as acting as something of a RP manager for the rest of their pride members.
2. The POC backup is reponsible for the things in #1 should the POC be gone for an extended period of time. While they cannot directly edit the thread, this is the /only/ person who may PM staff to request edits to the thread.
3. If there is no activity seen in a pride thread for a period of over two months, the pride will be disbanded, the thread archived, and the slot made avaliable again.
4. A person may only run one pride. However, they may belong to as many as they wish.
5. The first post of a pride thread should contain information about the pride, generally most of the information required in the aplication. However, it doesn't have to appear in the form of the application.
