Mine was Porpoise Song, thanks Faren.. I listened to it about a billion times that night and bought a greatest hits thing the day after. whee heart
I had only heard I'm A Believer on Shrek, so I'm not going to count that. rolleyes UGH, SMASHMOUTH, UGH.

I am sure that before I ever even SAW The Monkees I knew the theme song and probably knew "Daydream Believer"... but I can't recall the first song I ever heard because it would have to be off of the first episode I ever watched. The first episode I clearly remember watching was the "I Was A Teenage Monster" episode (even though I doubt it was the first one but it's the one I remember most vividly) ... and that episode featured "Last Train To Clarksville" and "Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day" and stuff like that... the first songs I ever heard on CD were on the Greatest Hits CD.. so.. yeah..
HAHA I AM TOO OLD TO REMEMBER, OKAY?

You mean EVER, or out of free will? wink Ever would have to be I'm A Believer, cos that song's EVERYWHERE, especially when you only listen to classic rock stations. (Which, because it's used overkill, is the only Monkees song I really have a dislike of. xp ) First one that I went out of my way to download was Daydream Believer. (Typical enough.)

I'm a beilver...we'd just watched shrek for the first time and there's a song at the end I'm a believer and my mum got the album out and played it. i've liked them ever since....
