When you go though the portrait of Dumbledore, one of the greatest headmasters of all time, you'll come into Professor Hastings' sitting room. It is very similar to her classroom, with blue walls. There are many comfy armchairs sitting around for when other professors come in for a glass of butterbeer. There is a dark blue desk with a dark purple chair, and a similar assortment of quills and ink. There is also an identical red book. Whenever she writes in one book, the writing appears in the other, which is very helpful when she writes reports out of class. There is a fire with flames that change colors, which gives all of the light at night when there is no sun. Her ceiling is bewitched to look like the sky outside, although it is often oddly colored. There is a small cabinet which always has whatever snack you want in it, from Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans to chicken soup or pumpkin juice.

If you go up an iron spiral staircase, you emerge into what seems to be the sky. This is Professor Hastings' "bedroom." She sleeps on a cloud while her owl, Archemedies, sleeps on the moon.

The last room is the bathroom, which is in a star near the professor's cloud, which you can see night and day. If she grabs the star, it grows and a door appears. The bathtub is half the size of a quidditch field, which is pretty big. She swims in it, and there is an end so deep that you can dive, so consequently, there is a diving board. You can fill it with different kinds of bubbles and steam, and you can change the water temperature with the press of a button.

Tanya came in from her classroom, walked up the stairs, and went to sleep on her cloud.

Tanya laughed softly. "A bit grumpy? Somewhat of an understatement, wouldn't you agree?" The fire turned purple, casting a glow of the same color over the room. It was late, so it would have been very dark in the sitting room except for the fact that it was the full moon. ((See the first post if you're confused...))

"Would you like anything, Mia? I have snacks, too. You can get anything you want from that cabinet," she said, pointing to it. ((Also in first post.))

"How are things?" Tanya laughed again. "Be more specific, or something. Classes...not too great. Emotionally...still getting over the fact that I can talk to you without actually speaking. Any other questions?" Then in response to Mia's comment about the ceiling, she said, "Isn't that great? A little trick I learned from Dumbledore himself. I knew him, he was the headmaster when I was here. I always wanted to be a teacher, and I knew them all pretty well. After he retired, Dumbledore came to see me sometimes. I asked him about the ceiling in the Great Hall. I haven't actually been there lately, so I don't know if it's still bewitched like this, but when I was a student, the ceiling there was like this too. So he taught me to do it. Sometime, I can teach you, too. I could even make you a sky bedroom. I figured that out myself. I'm the only one who has one, as far as I know. But I'm sure you like your bedroom as it is," she finished.

Tanya grinned. "I'll teach you sometime. And maybe I can make it always look like a clear night, and you can have that in your classroom. But about the classes, I have almost no students either. It's made me rather hesitant to assign more work, but I'll do it sooner or later." She thought for a moment, trying to think of something to say.

Tanya nodded. "Exactly how I feel. We seem to have more students coming in every day. I may have to do Wingardium Leviosa again at some point. It really is a vital spell. If you don't understand it, there are scores of other spells you won't be able to do. All of the new students have to learn it too. I've been thinking of putting it up as something all new students have to do. Well, actually, everyone who hasn't done it yet. Then I can have more advanced homework also, but I just don't have all of that time to waste on students who don't do work." She shook her head. "I just don't know what to do.

"Oh well. I can't control the students, but I can dock points. Eventually it should have some effect on them." Tanya looked at her friend. "Mia, I really like your outfit. Would you mind if I borrowed it?" She hoped Mia would understand what she meant; she didn't mean that she wanted Mia to give her the clothes, but that she wanted to know if she could use the look at some point.

((I'm sorry about your ankle! crying ))

Teasing her friend a bit, Tanya pointed her wand at herself, changing into her friend's clothes. Then, just as soon as she'd put them on, she was wearing her regular clothes again. "Sorry, just felt like doing that," said Tanya, laughing.

Then, turning the conversation once again to classes, she said "But I've noticed that some other, shall I say, 'more experienced' teachers haven't put up homework either. So honestly, I figure I can follow their lead. Personally, I enjoy sort of exploring, and hanging out. Students can get quite annoying at times, so I do like chats like this much more." Laughing as usual, she said, "Much more fun than when I drop in by Naomi's place."

"Yes, I'd love to. I haven't gotten out enough. I have to change first though. Not back into your clothes, though," she said, laughing. Pointing her wand at herself, she changed into blue jeans and a white coat with white faux-fur trim. She was wearing matching snowboots, too. She changed her hair to the same white, and grabbed a black hat. "So, is it to Hogsmeade or the grounds? Your pick."
