I believe he first took interest when he learned of her power to sense jewel shards, but it was her loyalty to her friends that really made her seem attractive to him. He, being very loyal to his friends as well, probably found that to be a very good quality, which is probably why he likes her. sweatdrop

He, being very loyal to his friends as well, probably found that to be a very good quality, which is probably why he likes her. sweatdrop You took the words right out of my mouth! Plus she saved his friends and saved him twice, and everyone in his tribe, including Kouga thinks that Kagome is cute. And lets not forget the time she slapped him across the face when he grabbed her… I think, that he likes girls that are hard to get. Although some part of his affection must have arisen from his dislike for Inuyasha.

yes it may be all that I think it's mostly his lust for power that draws him to her. I mean, if he loved her like he claims to, then wouldn't he also try to make peace with Inuyasha also? I know I know that that's unlikely but it's my opinion.
Also wouldn't he make an appearance more often to be with her? We see Naraku and Kikyo with often then we do Kouga don't you think?

I think, I'd agree with most statements here, though, I wouldn't say he should make up with Inuyasha just because he cares a lot about Kagome. It's more natural to be jealous, especially if you care for somebody else...
Now... I'd say he likes the fact she's not a meek little thing and isn't afraid of him.

Like the majority of you have said, it was originally Kagome's ability to sense the shards that drew Kouga to her. However, when Kagome went against the wolf pack to get Shippou to safety the first time they met, that also made her more attractive to him.
I don't think he really loves her, but more lusts after her. She would be a 'perfect' mate for him in his eyes, with her loyalty (meaning she wouldn't cheat on him) and her ability to sense that shards (meaning that she could make the pack more powerful).
However, any future children would be hanyous and Kagome wouldn't stand for Kouga killing them, as I said in the Miko Cafe. Besides, she loves Inuyasha, which places Kouga at a severe disadvantage to ever gaining her affections in that way.
