I've heard of scrying through water, mirrors, fire, and pendulums. Oh, and dowsing rods, too.

^.^ I love my pendulum! it made of hemitite! i bought it at the local herbal ocult store...you know the kinds thats all happy and herbal?? anywhoooit loves me and spin ridiculusly fast. i sorta named it O.o cuase if you think its name at it it starts up ... mm yep i put and earth goddess tailmen at the end of the chain and packed some "raven energy" in it from my familar/guid for finding things and it works like a charm...i guess it is a charm O.O

Mine is a chunk of what I believe to be rose quartz, with a thin silver wire holding it and attatching it to a piece of green and white yarn. ^^

that. is awsome. before i got mine I used a yellow toy truck hot wheels toy with black yarn teid to the axel o.O it actualy worked....then i lost it in the wooods.

Now THAT is creative. I'm not a pendulum person.

But you can use any black or blue bowl filled with water. Also, black scrying mirrors can be made by getting a picture frame and painting the back of the glass with black paint. Easy, cheap, and the frame can be as pretty as you choose without getting expensive like the obsidian scrying mirrors sold on the internet.

I use mine to find things, or answer a question or two. The closest I've seen to scrying with a pendulum was on tv, Charmed. But that's just a show, so I have no idea.

You don't want to see yourself, you want to see what you're scrying for. You can always add a drop of ink to the water to make the water black, and then it doesn't matter what color bowl you have. 3nodding Of course, it's really just whatever works for you. Intent and all that jazz. You know the spiel. rolleyes

my pendulum always shows me pictures in my head o.O they just come flying in. and i'll lose track of time while doing it, i was sat on my roof for like three hours scrying andthoguth it was only about five minutes or so. i don't use it very often, i don't usauly have a need.

Yeah it swings around in circles, I also use it to meditate/zone out with.
