I know it's a little early, but I was just wondering who all (if anyone) will be attending Otakon this year ^^
For those of you who don't know, and are curious, Otakon is in Baltimore, Maryland, the first weekend of August. And it is HUGE! The attendance cap this year is 25,000 (they'll prolly come pretty close)

Yeah, I know... But I thought that it'd be easier to schedual a meetup or whatever if we all planned it well in advance ^^;; Assuming anyone would even want to meet up >_>
Either way really, I was just thinking about it since I'm in the process of buying my plane tickets right now. That... and anyone who's gone before and is going again this year would be booking rooms right about now (if they haven't already, the person I'm staying with booked her room last year before she caught the plane to go home).

Alas, I can not go. I went to Tekkoshocon this year and so it was my anime convention for the year (also my first anime con)...

damn, see I have family in baltimore so I didn't even consider getting a room. I've got to wait last minute to make sure that I can get the time off for work.

EGL Goddess damn, see I have family in baltimore so I didn't even consider getting a room. I've got to wait last minute to make sure that I can get the time off for work. Yeah. Sometimes staying at home or a family members house is nice, cause then you don't have to pay for a hotel ^^ But I think I'd rather have the hotel room. Even when I was at Anime Detour this year I kinda wished I had gotten a room ;__; And I live only 15 minutes away!
I look really forward to this year ^^ Kat (my friend I'm staying with) got a really great room ^^ Where we were last year was ok, but this is even better ^^ I only wish I had been able to get an artists table ;___;
I hope you'll be able to go too ^^

I'd love to, well I'd love to go to any convention since I've never been to one before.
But sadly, I live too far away and my parents wouldn't let me go. u.u

Yes! My friends are saving up(and then spending funds) for Otakon! We all were planning to be various types of cat girls;punk, gothic, lolita[me!] and others that have yet to decide. Just look for a group with a bucnh of tall cat girls and one short one...yes vague but if you'd see the height difference in my friends, you'd understand.

I went last year, and there was a Tea-Party on sunday~ it was fun seeing a lot of lolis dressed up ^^ unfortunately i dont think i'll be going this year (unless i can scrounge up enough before the con and get a room), but keep a lookout on like cosplay.com or some other egl communities on whether a tea party/meetup will be made sometime during the con.

Aww ^^; I was around last year, but I was -just- starting to get into lolita so I didn't go to any of the meet-ups or anything ^^; I went to a few at Anime Detour though ^^ They were fun, despite being a crowd of about 7 (including me and the 4 girls I hung out with all weekend ^^; )

I'm going, I can't wait! <3 I dunno if I'm going to dress lolita any of the days, though. I did last year, and it was a lot of fun, but I think I'm only gonna dress up one day this year.

Mm.. I went last year, and it was looootsss of fun. Artists Alley= <3 There was a booth in the crafts section selling headdresses and lace chokers, but I didn't get to buy one. neutral But it's a huge convention. ^-^ I suggest putting some gel pads in your shoes, though... lot of walking around for three days straight.. xp
I was going to go this year, but when I found out Moi Dix Mois was coming over here, I cancelled my Otakon plans because I had settled on doing only one of the two. But they cancelled their tour!! gonk Now I dunno what to do... cry Especially 'cause Otakon falls on my birthday.. Hopefully my parents haven't made plans for that weekend yet...
