I personally loved this movie. I had seen it ages ago in Japanese but recently purchased the english version a couple of weeks ago.
One thing I hate about it though and only slightly...

I think the character was an exuse to put someone that looked slightly like Sora into the mix. I have read the characters back story though and it turns out he was a rich kid who's parents died when the sector 7 plate was destroyed. He then caught geostigma after the meteor hit and was taken in by Tifa because she felt responsable for what happened to sector seven.

Yes, Indeed. The first time I watched Advent Children was in August, thank you fansubs. <3 I really thought the movie was great. I'm glad someone made a thread about it finally. The movie was great, but to understand it you might need to watch it a few times. Some parts are a bit iffy when you watch it the first time.
The english version, however... Makes understanding easier. At the beginning, Marlene explains the story more. The voices are a bit crummy... But that's my opinion. Someone told me thet the voice casting director didn't even play the game....
Uhmmmm That should be enough of my raning for now.

Advent Child was a good movie. There were just some problems I had with it. One, what Tifa said when trying to cheer Cloud up. I forgot exactly what she said, but it was pure stupidity. Two, Loz and Tifa's fight. It was a good fight, but the actor who played Tifa made the wrong noises of agony for each hit. Three, Cloud giving up his Buster Sword. I know he was trying to give up his past, but his new sword sucks, although it did save him, it just can't beat the Buster Sword. Fourth, the fight between Cloud and Sephiroth(sp?). It was only like five minutes long. The fight should've lasted longer. And finally, the fight with the Behemoth. Why did Cloud have to defeat it? With Tifa, Yuffie, Cid, Vincent, and everyone else fighting it it should have been defeated easily, without Cloud's help.

I thought it was an awesome movie, escpecially the fight between sephiroth and cloud, the effects and the limit...OOOOOOOHh so cool

YEAH!!!! I really got mad when they made the dub say, "Dilly Dally Shilly shally!" They even translated it that way! The fansub I watched said...
"Zuru zuru, zuru zuru." WHich I guess meant floating. So yeeah... >>;
And yes... I guess they really didn't like Red XIII in the movie... oO; Cait rode him though... D:
Oh! You know the english DVD version?
They took out parts of fight scenes. Because I watched the fansub first... Then I bought the DVD and watched the deleted scenes. I got mad that they took out the fight when they were in the sleeping forest.
And it's Bahamut SIN. oO;
And the reason cloud defeated him was because it's cloud. it's the main character. ._.''
An I will only reply to those really interested in having a serious conversation or debate about this movie. oO;

Yep,gotta love that movie xd coolest one I've seen this year.There's two things that stuck with me.One is the "Dilly dally shilly shally"part.And if you put on the english subtitles it says"Boo-hoo poor me" Weird.And also the bonus CD where there's the voice actors and such,the part where the girl that does Tifa says over and over again "Vincent,does Cloud know..about Kadaj?" She goes from normal to frustrated.So funny xp

Darn the English Version!!!
I really do enjoy my old fansub that I love so much.
Without the fight scenes getting cut out and the ACTUAL LITERATE TRANSLATION.

And here they are:  Cloud, Tifa and Aeris. Not actually them obviously but the voice actors. But hey I wouldn't say no to either of those ladies... wishful thinking. sweatdrop
