"Let's Duel" FAQ
An FAQ for Posting and Eddict in this Sub-Forum
General:
Q: What is this Sub-Forum?
A: It's the Let's Duel thread!!!
Q: What can you do in this Forum?
A: You can do anything from challenging people to posting results to even host tournaments for the TCG Yu-Gi-Oh!
Q: Who is the mod of this sub-forum?
A: Presently, the mod is: Apeiron King of Light
Q: Can I post my deck here?
A: You may, but not to have be rated and/or editted. This is a place to duel and not for discussion on topics not relating to a duel by two or more people.
Posting Eddict:
Q: A person says he's the best, is that true?
A: Do not believe what everyone posts. Please also do not flame if you think otherwise. Instead, prove they are wrong between a duel.
Q: I tried to prove it but they won't respond, should I keep requesting!?
A: No, do not bother them anymore. This could very well be a trick by the challenger and if that is the case the thread will either be deleted or locked.
Q: People are saying bad things about me, what should I do?
A: If that is the case please contact one of the moderaters of this sub-forum. They will personally deal with the situation.
Posting a Challenge:
Q: How do I post a challenge?
A: Just go to the [New Topic] button and create a new thread on your challenge.
Q: What do I need to post in my challenge?
A: You should have first how your are going to duel (AIM, YIM, YVD, ect.) as well as when you can duel. Also, please specify the format for which you will play on.
Q: Can I post rules that aren't real (ex: tag-team, only 1 of each card, ect.)
A: Yes, you may include additional rules to your challenge so long as they are not to extreme and they still stay in the regular rules.
Q: No one has responded...what should I do?
A: First off check if your challenge meets all specifications stated above. If all are correct, sometimes it's a good idea to bump your post. Most players will check the top posts since they are the ones that are active at the moment.
Q: How many times should I bump?
A: You should only at most bump if neeeded so that the thread is in the top bunch (around the first 10).
Q: What are active challenges?
A: They are ones that you can still respond to and get a reply back.
Q: What if I responded...and the post was made recently and no response?
A: Sometimes players forget about that they even made the challenge. A good way to do this is move on and find other challenges.
Posting a Tournament:
Q: What is a tournament?
A: A tournament is a series of matches or duels that determines a winner from a set of people.
Q: How do I set up a tournament?
A: Post what you would for a duel but also post entrants, what type of bracket and anything else that maybe needed to run a tournament.
Q: How do I set up a bracket and what types can I use?
A: A bracket is the schedule in which who that player will play against. You may do this in two ways either a "Round Robin" where everyone plays each other, or "Single Elimanation" where everyone is given a spot and if they lose they are out of the tournament. Variants of these are exceptable. Now to set it up, please do this in the first page. For Round Robin, please tally the scores of each player to present date, and for single elimination please display current matches and who is still in.
Q: What should I do after?
A: Hosting a tournament is a bigger responsibilty since you must take into consideration the entrants wants as well. For being a host, you must keep up to date on the tournament and stay with it till the end.
Q: Can I be both an entrant and a host?
A: Yes you may...you don't have to though if you don't want to.
Q: Can there be prizes or entry fees?
A: Yes there may, but for entry fees take into consideration that the entrants don't want to play to much just for a few duels.
Posting a Previous Duel:
Q: Can I post games that I done before?
A: Yes you may, just so long as every move is said.
Q: Every move...? How do I do that?
A: On YVD, it is already typed whenever you make a move, but for a messanger you must always type everything you do, so that later you could copy and paste in a post.
Q: I was talking about other stuff then the duel during it...is it okay if I put that?
A: You may, so long as you can make it apparent of where the duel is.
Q: Can I discuss about it, even though this is a dueling forum?
A: Yes, discussion of a previous duel is allowed. But please keep the discussion to the duel alone and not other stuff.
Other:
Q: Why is there an other section when you have a general section?
A: For questions less pretaining to the Forum or Dueling, like this ^^
Q: Can I Rp a duel?
A: Sure
