----Hey all, since Semesters over for meh, Ive decided to finally get down and make a roleplay. What kind of roleplay?well, since I've been reading Scifi lately, why not a Mecha rp?^___^----
The LowDown:
The year is 20xx(xx = use that for the year), and war has been eliminated from human society. Instead, humanity uses a simple competition to entertain and as sacrifice on the Altar of Blood humanity has knelt at for centuries untold.
What is this simple competition? With the creation of infinite energy, as well as unlimited resources plucked right from the air, humanity grew bored. Why kill each other when the person your killing doesnt have anymore then you have?
So humanity found a new way to entertain its more primal side.
The Competition, or the Arena, is held every six months. It features one hundred contestants, though of course in this day and age no Human would sully his/her hand, so isntead, Humans used their creativity to construct machines to fight for them. AI brains floating in bulletproof shells, a tank that moves and kills on its own, an android shaped like a little girl..... The posibilities are endless, and with only a few, short rules to hastne bloodshed the Arena is opened on what was once Terra, now an overgrown, worthless husk, its only usefullness as the Arena, where its combatants fight amongst fading cities and monuments....
The Competition has few rules, which are as follows: 1. No contestant may use lasers or tactical nuclear weapons. Since all contestants are biologically whole, pathogens may be used. Preffered weapons are melee weapons(i.e., blades, maces, the like), or simple pre-laser guns.Contestants are encouraged to seak ways to create a more lengthy battle then to kill cleanly. 2. All contestants must be able to land and move without much difficulty. No solely airborne or water-borne contestants are allowed. 3. No outside help is allowed. Cheating will result in swift punishment 4. All contestants are considered"Dead' when they can no longer move or fight. Any contestant that refuses to fight at least once every twenty four hours(with leeway given to Contestants location compared to others), will be considered breaking the rules, see below. 5. Any contestants breaking these rules will be isntantly disqualified and destroyed. Means of punishment are a lower orbit, precision laser strike from multiple sattelites. No leeway is given unless otherwise stated. 5.The winner of the Compitetion will have completed thier function and it and their creator shall recieve a huge grant of planetside land on any number of chosen worlds, including full use of whatever technologies they wish set up. The prize is the only valuable thing left ot a species without needs or wants. Land to own and call their own.A home.
OOC rules: - No godmodding - Follow Gaian TOS(I have to say it-le sigh:p-) - literacy standard - though I suspect most of you will, please try and make at least two paragraphs per post. If you fail to do this more hten one or two times Ill have to kill you off....x.x
<> -Rules - you can look/be like anything you want within reason(i.e., no giant mecha, please be no larger then oh say a tank or so?)
FORM: Pm them to me for acceptance, dont be shy razz ! Name: (anything you want Is fine I guess...<.<) Appearance: (this is Very important, as contestants can look however their designers want. Feelf ree to be a modified car with guns attached, or a clwon robot gone crazy. up to you guys, just make a good appearance description^^) Weapons: -No lasers, laser melee weapons(awww), or antimatter/nuclear/etc.etc. everything should be bullets/blades/etc. The tounrament is more about a showy fight then a quick one^_^ personality: did your creator make you a sycopath?is your AI wonky and makes you do strange things? Did a twisted designer make you have the capacity to feel? to not wnat to hurt others?did it grow on its own?are you cold and efficient like a machine?
owner FORM sad if you wish, you may also paly your creator, or have someone else do it for added fun!:p Creators may talk with their creations or others for a period of one hour a day. As most contestants will be equipped with radar and other detection methods by their creators this will not but a significant factor other then to assess damage and increase drama for the audience. Name: Age: Appearance: History: Personality: Misc, sad anything else youd like to add?put it here.

This is amazing!and the Competition explodes, literally!Within the first fifteen minutes folks we have an elimination!Wait no..A DOUBLE Elimination! This is a record break here ladies and gentleman!
The announcer's voice filtered through known human space, bringing the announcers over the top words to life, accompanying video hazy and grainy from being compressed and transmitted from a tiny, remote controleld Video drone.
The scene was hazy and smoky, but it slowly cleared, revealing a thin figure, hands slipped into clean white pants pockets. Green eyes looked calmly into the camera's "eye". On planets everywhere humans cheered. They liked mysteries. Mysteries were new and exciting in a controlled universe. This Contestant even looked like them too.
Something lurched upright inside the view, and dirt and grit showered the ground.
behind Icarus a huge, thick bodied frame lifted. It's chest was crushed in, and it's left arm was missing.
"You...You tricked me..with that stupid form...that inneficient form, Ill kill you!"The Figure lifted an arm towards Icarus and the video drone, only Icarus was no longer there.
"Wha...?"The damaged construct managed to utter before it felt something touching the back of its head.
The camera showed Icarus seemed to disapear, then ghost in a second later behind his attackor, hair and clothes ruffling slightly back into place.
"Pathetic.."Icarus's eyes closed with a sigh, and..something happened, the camera going black for a second, before shifting to another drone farther away. Icarus stood alone hand still outstretched. His opponent was no where to be seen.
--------
Meanwhile, Queen Unit I awoke as the small drop pod lande, disgorging her into her new territory. Her internal processors came online, and she worked her way free from the opened pod, thick, insectoid frame unfolding like some Viral, metal flower.
From her sides two large, Beetle-like pods dropped and expanded as well, wide, mettalic chitin expanding as the creatures waddled around in front of the Queen unit. Defender Units Ia and Ib linked with the Queen unit and took up a forward defensive stance, their bodies sloped up from the front to create the largest shield coverage.
Further along her back, two more rested, though they seeemed more designed for something other then fighting then the Defender Units. They awoke but did not detach, informing Queen unit I that they were Breeder Units Breeder Ia and Breeder Ib. within their smaller bodies they began specifically programmed instructions, their swollen"bellies" gently whirring as furios construction began.
Queen unit I opened her sensor packages and examined her surrounding, patching into long discarded weather sattelites, dimly becoming aware of Her existence outside of a lab. A layout of the ground surrounding her crystalised, and the data showed a defensible area northeast. A Hive Marker was spread to each of her slaved Drones.
The Defenders suddenly gave a panicked chittering, like cicada's. Queen unit I began moving as Data streamed in. Another COntestant had unluckily decided to show up before Queen unit could get to a defensible, safe location.
The large, Tank shaped cronstruction roared over a low hill, sensors turning to the strange construct. It blanketed the Queen and her "brood" with sensor traces, catalouging weapons data. Good. Data showed that the creatures possesed no significant weaponry. It turned and rushed towards the Queen Unit, two large guns on either side roaring to life. Defender Units Ia and Ib leaned into the wave of bullets, metal chipping and dneting, but holding for the moment. Queen unit I began moving, heading towards higher, tactically advantegous ground, and debated tactics as Breeder unit Ia dropped off, it's swollen belly unblocked to dump out tewenty or so tiny, hand sized creatures, eightlegged with pincers in the center pointing downwards. They spread out and clattered towards the Tank, doing the best there tiny "minds" could do while hurrying along.Defender Ia trundled forward and took more damage, and Queen's indicators showed 70% damage, with decreased mobility. Queen was worried, but it was the nature of things to be affected by probability. This situation was planned for as bes as could have been.
Breeder Ia, in the meanwhile, ahd exhausted her internal resources, and thereby was at the moment expendable. As the Tank worked on the two defenders, who by far seemed the most dangerous besides Queen(who was luckily flanked by now by ground that would cause problems for the Tank, not to mention the two Defender units moving to engage.) The breeder unit burst from behind the Defender Units, leg servo's whining as they overheated and snapped, jsut as she leaped...
The breeder dropped on to the front of the Tanks front,, and a gun swiveled to fire at the breeder. It was not necesary though, as Breeder Ia had completed it's task. 8 of the twenty tiny constructs popped out of their mother's broken body, and skittered across the broad surface, finding sensitive areas, and began digging, sharp, tiny little pincers into the Tank's metal carapace.
Tank wasted time trying to remove the tiny assailants, then took revenge, a heavy cannonround, saved for a stronger opponent, tore defender Ia into scrap, half of it's body and its legs crumpled into itself, then ignited into a large explosion.
Queen mourned the Defender only as a resource that would require more effort to re-aquire then to reassemble a unit.
The Tank suddenly ground to a halt, skidding as the tiny attacker units, labeled 1-20 on Queen's inner displays, found critical systems and killed them efficiently. Queen ahd won her first victory. The Hive survived.
The Queen turned and headed towards the marked position,s etting upa secure relay to the broken breeder. The Tank was a valuable resource but Queen needed to find a fortifiable position first and foremost. She weighed her options, then left breeder Ia with expendable units 1-20 where they were. The breeder would be "fed" by the tiny creatures, and would create more units, which would then create a supply line from the downed enemy, and strip it of usable material. Down to the Bones and farther, Queen thought with a sudden, startling vengefullness. Then she began running projected calculations again and begain moving.

Yukidaruma waited patiently until the worldwide trigger was sent out, signalling the start of the contest. Sensing this bandwith of frequency, two steel razor-sharp arrows knocked themselves on his two mechanical crossbows. Immediately, he could sense the heat signatures and electronic signals of other contestants around him. One however was closer than most others, who were over five miles away. This one was only a mere half-mile from him. Walking towards where ever it was, his two machine guns spun, loading a full clip of regular bullets. Within a few minutes, a rocket collided with the ground, making a small explosion. Looking up, Yuki saw what his competeor was. It looked like a dragonfly, and its tail dispensed rockets, mortars, and bombs. It's wings, no douct, were like razors to any who got too close. It didn't seem to have a very good AI system, because its movement were sluggish compared to that of Yuki. Yuki raised one arm and let an arrow fly. It hit dead on between its two "eyes". Falling to the ground, continous fizzes, pops, and crackles could be heard from its damaged circuitry. Taking steps towards it, he fired off numerous rounds of machine gun fire. The dragonfly was no longer operational.

She walked between the sizzling remains of the mechanation she had been instructed to destroy. Though small she was, Chimera had taken no time to hesitate with her enemy. It was something akin to a tarantula based of off the memories given to her by her maker, She, for some reason, did not like these creatures so obliterating the contender had been readily satisfying. Her long legs trekked over the terrain with mild disinterest. Chimera never looked for a battle...she waited for it.
Her neon purple irises assessed the damage of the tarantula."Totaled."She whispered to herself before kicking the metallic heap of junk and walking away. Already she could feel the strength she had gained from that last engagement. Her processors formulated new battle plans from the fight. "Initiate Titan one, three and seven." There was a slight pause as her mind worked over the command then there was a response and she knew all was complete."Now...to wait."

Wow and just like that Folks, we are down to 96 contestants within sucha short time!it seems like this years Competition will be heating up very soon! The announcer continued on in excited tones, mostly ignored by the tense crowd, who watched the planets surface on dozens of monitor banks, from which vidbots captured the imagery of the now one hundred minus four contestants.
hmmph...these peons, look at them. There designs are all flawed. My Icarus is perfect The welldressed women thought with a hmmph of disgust, watching as some contestants eagerly drooled over their screens.
"Dr. Silva?Icarus has sent us his hourly update, would you care to look ove-"The assistant next to her was cut off by an irritated, waved hand. "Shush Johnson, I have no need to see his report, that was more a matter of common practice then a neccessity. "she took a breath to say more when an insiduous, nasty lil chuckle broke in.
"my my Ms. Silva, as haughty as always yes?" This from a small, wiry frame of a man, a mad scientist if there ever was one. A pair of hornrimmed glasses perched on a thin, long nose. An insect, shaped like a honret but done in silvers and greys, perched majestically on one shoulder, it's oversized stinger retracted into a thick thorax.
"Ah Proffessor Thompson, it is always such a ...pleasure... to enjoy your company"Silva said in tones that suggested she meant exactly the opposite."I suppose you are here to gloat that your...insect of a robot has made a successful first win. Be lucky that sucha disgusting bug has yet to be crushed by my Icarus"She said arrogantly, smirking downa t the hunched proffessor.
"Ah you wound me Silva, but just remember, Icarus flew too close to the sun and got burned, don't think your..toy, will fare any better with wings of cuircitry then wax!"He cackled as another contestant's death lit up the screens, and a scuffle broke out among the lower viewscreens.
---
Icarus shoved an old, abandoned combustion-run vehicle. How humans managed to get anywhere with such primitive devices so long ago amazed him, though he only allocated his extra proccessing time to such whimsical thoughts.
He froze as a whine entered the air and twisted, booted foot crashing into the front of a rusted car, which bent compliantly and arched upwards in front of him, just before a hellfire of rounds tore into it's surface.
"heh..I was careless."
Exactly one minute and thirty seven point two-five seconds later another contestant marker bleeped out.
------
Queen I had settled herself, and now her children were spreading. From the simple units that she had started with their were now hunter nad killer units, scout units, and repair units, capable of saving countless damaged units from having to be scrapped and unefficiently rebuilt.
ANd they were expanding. ALready this large bunker had served its purpose, becoming a thickly fortified fortress in the center of an empty area, with Queen unit's tiny "children" bustling off, attacking contestants to stave off the "squatting" rule.
Thigns were going as planned...

Chimera observed the battle between a cybornetic being and another of teh massive machines that some of the newer age scientist believed to be more efficient. Though, in her mind, they were too slow for the human sized creations. Her maker had always made mention that she take care when facing an opponent similar to her size for their techniques could much the same as hers. Still, Chimera was not as helpless as her maker wnated her to appear. There were things about her model that made her very dangerous indeed.
"1.37.25...hm."She furrowed her brow and received a strange message from her creator. The androidic fighter slunk deeper into the shadows. Like a chameleon, her very skin had adjusted to the darkness, even her eyes and hair were dark as night now. Were she to be spotted, she would look like a darkly clothed human who ahd somehow become lost on teh planet and was cowering in a corner to remain safe. Her ears picked up on it then. The reverbrations came soon there after and she was forced to reveal herself as an enormous creation with two, sturdy, humanoid legs and a height that reached nearly three times her own came hunkering down on her location to dessimate the other competitor.
Chimera's blade was unsheathed and she jumped, running across the body of her oppressor with agile precision. She leapt backwards and landed steadily on both feet as the machinery before her crackled and jolted. There was an amused laugh from the woman before she spun and cut into the other machine at its weak points. She had fought a model similar to this once. A minute and a half later the mechanation was mere scrap beneath her feet. Chimera's hair was still black, her skin had become pale before she began her fight. Only then did her eyes become purple once more."Hm...slow."
The female cyborg jumped down and glanced at Icarus. There was a gentle smile on her lips before she bowed."See you."Then she disappeared...

A dusty wind blew by, warm and heavy with dark particles of machinery that had been reduced to dust. She watched the individual particles scatter down the crumbling sidewalk, whirling around each other in the wind. A bright sun burned down over the city furiously. Veila was unaffected.
With no enemies in the immediate vicinity, she began trudging slowly down the broken roads, past half-decimated buildings and piles of debris, foundations of steel jutting out of them like rotting ribcages.
Humans had long abandoned the earth. But there were still remnants of them lingering on the dry, withered planet. A broken window, faded paint still clinging to it as advertisement; a clothing store, the merchandise laying across the floor, covered in dust; graffiti-marked walls, names marked on them permanently, there until the end of time. Veila watched it all through her dark eyes, her scanners collecting data every time she blinked. There was so much information to be collected here...
The android checked her sensors. Still no enemies close by. She looked across the street at a three-story building that looked like it had once been taller, but had already begun to break down, the ceiling taken off in some previous battle. The concrete structure was cracked and sagging. But it was intriguing. Everything about it was drawing her closer. The crudeness of the building, the poor supports, the inadequate reinforcements; didn't the humans understand architecture? Didn't they have any technology? Veila glanced down the street in both directions. The Doctor would probably be angry if she wasn't fighting... but just a look couldn't hurt, could it? Veila switched off her radio signal, letting static interfere with the channel. It might work for awhile. She didn't feel like fighting then.
She approached the building slowly. Reaching the outer wall, her humanlike hand reached up and touched the concrete gently, as if it held some fragile, age-old secret inside of it. The wall crumbled slightly at her touch. She fingered the dust in her hand, rubbing it in her fingers, analyzing it with her sensors. Numbers ran through her wires, nearly infinitely long, calculated with absolute precision. Atomic number: 8. Fractional composition by weight: 0.529107... Atomic number: 13. Fractional composition by weight: 0.033872... The numbers blinked by in less than a nanosecond, electrons traveling through her at the speed of light, arranging and rearranging...
If there had been a door, it was gone. Veila walked into the building and peered into the dark, though to her, it was just as good as light; her sensors worked perfectly either way. Dust and trash littered the floor. Veila made her way across the entryway, up the stairs, and on to the second floor. She wondered what kind of building this had been, searching her records for anything relevant stored in her memory. The many doors were numbered, with little metal chain latches on them. She turned the knob to room number seventeen; when it didn't let, she kicked the door down swiftly. It came off it's hinges cleanly and landed with a bang on the hard, thinly carpeted floor of the apartment. Veila stepped over the door and walked in.
Immediately, she was in the kitchen. The only light was coming in from a large window on the other side of the room, it's glass knocked inward, sharp fragments still clinging to the frame. The kitchen was bare; once-white tiles on the floor were dirty and broken; there was still a sponge in the sink, a serving bowl on the counter. But across the room, there was something more. Veila walked to the tiny dining table and picked it up. The picture frame was plain: a simple, silvery edging and a thin sheet of glass over a faded picture. But the picture was extraordinary. The android's eyes flickered, trying to process the information. It was a family. A family... a smiling young woman holding a two year-old baby girl in her arms lovingly, and a man... a man, standing next to them smiling, smiling.
Dust drifted in through the window, tiny, transparent specks weaving together constantly. Coming together, moving apart. Flying by, caught in the light only fleetingly. Another fragment: Dust to dust...

"che....so bothersome...I let that one get away...I'm sure the Dr. won't mind heart " The construct murmerd, watching the cyborg fade away.
He chuckled and seemed to relax, his tall form settling back on it's heels. His eyes closed for a moment, as his processors tilted and chose new priorities.
His eyes opened. Tracking online.
The whole of the battlefield wasin his view, in billions of colors and hues and scopes, from infared to ultraviolet. He was perfection. He was Icarus.
His mind flew outwards and his containment unit blinked open its eyes and deftly crouched into an abandoned building.
He chuckled and appeared in front of chimera, arms crossed as his robes settled around him, as if he had just landed."My my another humanoid...They seem popular this year....and so quick too...you almost got out of my range..."He teased, tut-tutting and shaking a finger tauntingly.
His grin widened and a wing burst from his left shoulderblade, dark as night, pinions straining outward with a ruffle of feathers. "interesitng indeed.."he murmered.
-----
The dust seemed to swirl around Veila for a moment, until a figure appeared, dressed in golden robes. It sparkled like the image of an angel, and one large, beautiful wing, white as snow, gently fanned out in the air.
"well Hello there....and I could have sworn there was no one else nearby..hmm..good thing I used this then"The figure spoke as if he was alone, gesturing to the gold outfit and the gently shifting wing.
The figure grinned slowly as the dust settled and the light dimmed, revealing Icarus's somber visage. His feet set down on the floor with a soft tap. His eyes peered over her as if he could see the gears and weaponry hidden behind the falsifying frame, and he grinned again.
"very interesting......this shall be fun."

Chimera looked to the unit, this humanoid mech who had intruded upon her space. She took several steps back, almost submissive in her motions. Her hair had stayed dark as midnight, it's length even settling at her shoulders where areas before it had been barely to her lower jaw. She stayed silent in her observations of this creation at hand. Space was something that Chimera treasured and to have one so crudely encroach upon hers was a bit of an insult. Thirty insecure seconds passed before she found her voice and responded to the winged mechanoid.
"Interesting?" She questioned as her head did a suant turn and set her face at an angle to him. "If you believe so." She had no instructions, though she was fully capable of acting on her own. Chimera had never spoken to a model that was even vaguely similar to her own...so it seemed her curiousity was getting the best of her.
"Just one wing...two halves to one reality. Like a dream in the sands of time...were I capable of dreams, I think I would see you."She made very little sense. Her AI computed and responded in vague terms. It was how Chimera kept her secrets. It was how she appeared more human. Distrust, she believed, was the proper word."You found me...why?"

Veila looked up as a bright light seemed to appear in the room. The shieldings over her eyes adjusted to compensate for the brightness, and as it faded, her vision became clear again. A bright wing, illuminated by the window behind him, spread forth from the mechanisms in the android's back. Veila's eyes widened slightly, her humanlike A.I. making her capable of most human responses. Somewhere in her memory, she remembered the doctor telling her of creatures like him. Creatures with bright white wings like the birds that had once inhabited earth. Creatures that looked humans but were really divine beings from a far-off universe, existing only in legends.
Angels.
The girl remained silent as the android in front of her introduced himself. If that could be called an introduction. Veila stared, unmoving. He might have been half an angel, but everything in her sensors told her he was just another robot- just another like her. And yet, she'd never met anyone that was like her. Her dark eyes blinked.
"Interesting?" she murmured, setting the picture frame back down on the table beside her. Her scanners took in every inch of his proximity as she stared at his face. It was so... human. And yet not so. His grin was discomforting to her. And yet the way he landed... it was as if he was weightless. Just like the Doctor had described. Just like an angel.
"Who are you?" she asked, her voice hushed in the still atmosphere, heavy with light.

"Yes very interesting"The dark Icarus said, grinning a bit teasingly as be bent over, bringing his eye height to hers, peering into her eyes intently for a moment."ah ah so cold, and all i did was flatter you"his grin was the only white coloring on his body as he sighed, hand cupping his chin as if in thought.
"ah but if you saw me in your dreams would I be percieved as the same?I know not, since you confess to not being able to dream. I believe I dream, when I am whole this half of me percieves a dream like state..."he drifted off for a second.
"Ah but then again i do not know what it is to dream, since I have never met a human before who could describe it enough, and the data is so hard to computate is it not?" He grinned and looked down at her as she questioned him, then calmly reached out and patted her head.
"now now...why else would I find you?you are an interesting subject and I wish to see how well you will do."
As he spoke his wing suddenly unfurled as a number of small forms leaped towards him.His wing did...something, and the air seemed to waver, as if heat made the air wave behind him. the small hunter units, mere scouts for Queen I, froze in mid air and seemed to shatter, disintegrating as if they had neared the sun...
"Ah it seems She is getting bolder. The good Dr. told me about Her"He spoke cryptically, though he did not seem at all to notice what he had just done.
------
The air seemed...different around the Golden Icarus...it should have seemed brighter but the air only seemed that much more shadowed for him being there. His wing fanned the air gentlyy, and he smiled again.
"Oh yes Very interesting... and such human-like gestures"he reached down and cupped her chin gently, peering at her face with that untrustful grin of his.
"What took evolution..or God if you believe in such things, thousands upon thousands of years man creates beings in their own image in merely a few centuries. Indeed they could be called Gods now couldnt they? They do creatre us, give us feeligns and thoughts and memories, and then have us Kill eachother, don't they?" He murmered, and the warm smile he gave her was that of a humans, the only betrayal to his form the tiny circuitry lines in his eyes...
"who am I?I am he who flew to close to the son, the one winged Angel Icarus, The Fool who thought himself higher then his body allowed."He chuckled softly and let go of her chin abruptly, stepping back. "Oh my I hope I will get to see your prowess in battle, it seems you will have company soon. Do survive, I will be watching.. heart "He hummed a bit and stepped back, wing folding over, and with a shimmer of air, like a heat wave, he was gone.
The building shook. THe sound of gunfire and explosions drew nearer...

Chimera's eyes flickered to the small Units of Queen 1. She had never seen the largest unit, the main one, always her minions."A compliment?" Chimera spoke, her mind memorizing what it was that this man had done, if a man he could be called. Yes, a male, but likely not a man, as cybornetic beings were not men. She frowned and adjusted her focus to settle on Icarus. It was frustrating her how little control she had over her thoughts. She supposed that was what he maker wanted. To force her into various states of concentration, to strengthen her AI and enable her sense to multi task. Still, she did not like it.
"She has always been bold...near her territory we could be. But not so near as to see her. Thank you...for your flattery." Chimera ran her hands through her hair, there was a moment of consideration before she decided to keep it at its present length. "Do you have a name? This half of your being comparatively to the other...one in the same but at constant separation. A duality to equate the truest of meanings...yin and yang...noe good, no evil, just one power to create and another to kill."
Her mutterings made sense to her. She was trying to justify why having a mechanoid that could split in half. "Gemini. You...whose one winged nature so stands at my front, remind me of Gemini. And yes...were I capable of dreams...you would appear as you are now...only to your left would be your opposite. One in white and another in black..."She laughed then. "Quite literally Yin and Yang."

Icarus..or rather the black winged Icarus grinned again, his hands slipped into pockets as he regarded Chimera quietly for another moment, as if deciding what to do.
"Ah she speaks in riddles, this interesting one does. I am Icarus, he who flew to close to the sun, the scorched one, whos trove to soar above all others and was cast down, burnt and sundered to this wasteland where there lies within only death and misery, we children of our gods creation, playtoys for the almighty. Or perhaps I am a fallen angel, come to distract you from your purpose? Ah but then why would I tell you no? hmm.....a strange quandry I suppose."
He raised his eyebrows in a decidely human gesture at her murmurings.
"Gemini?Ah but in your dreams which would be the light and which the dark?or perhaps the lines are more blurred then that and we would appear as a grey?, or maybe a color upon which eyes such as ours cannot comprehend?"He grinned.
"My your creator must be praised, such an interesting design, and such interesting thought processes, I shall watch over you most carefully, but then again, will it really be me?Who knows"
The somber, black figure tilted his head, glancing at the broken units, and he sighed, waving a hand at them.
"Even as our creators toy with us, recreate some of us in our image, there are those who follow a different path, the one of sacrifice. Now watch, for She may perhaps be the most pure of us."He gestured as small, blind workers shambled out from cover, tiny little insectile creatures. They swarmed the down parts, tiny teeth nibbling away precious material.
"She wastes nothing, and she gives Her children burial of a sort. Each one dies knowing they will be recycled and reborn as a worthwhile playing piece. She is bold but never wasteful, a Brood Mother who seeks to fullfill her purpose with complete intent. But yet.....I can feel her sorrow, and so could you, if you but look for it"He pointed upwards towards the sky, then cupped an ear, as if listening to a faint, weak lil sound.
"Can you hear her?She is always like this I find, it is beautiful, in it's way"
And across the airwaves, across the interconnecting pathways of light and data Queen huddled, astride sattelites old and new, in the very air as she spoke to Her children, her anguish as one died, her gentle, wordless murmering to her fallen children.
"Because, you see, She has emotions. Her creator did not make her cold and uncalculating. Our creators know the value of emotion, know the fun it brings in such a terrible game. When we hate it is so simple, so brutal, ahh but when we love, our when we carry an ideal, when we care it is something more. It gives us more strength, it makes dying souls force broken limbs to move and those that lose to rise again. It is the spark of hope that there is something beautiful in this world that truly gives the Gods watching in the skies such pleasure, such sport!"
He gave a small chuckle and his face was truly frightening in his sympathy. "But I pity them, I pity my Creator, as She pities me, for as they are accountable for their creations, so is their Creators, whose powers could move galaxies and spring life from the ether, and slip the need for machinery and proccesed material."
He examined her for a moment more."Ahh but you do bring such refreshing dialogue, but be assured, I am watching you, for good or Ill. You itnerest me...and I wish to see your Creator's hopes spring from you."He grinned and stepped backwards, his wing curling outward, ensheating him in burnt black feathers, before they dwindled away to nothing, leaving a few burnt, crumpled featehrs to drift ot the ground, and fade away into ash...
