Because the equus themselves are listed (generally) in order of gaining them, this is an easier way to look at them. This is how they are generally grouped together, and demonstrates which equus know each other, or are linked to one another in some way. There are three main groups.

Personality: Conceited and vain, Kestrel likes to surround himself with beauty, whether it be beauty in nature or the physical beauty of his companions. He would hardly be considered a brave soul, and yet in his own way, he does care about those companions who travel with him. If one is beautiful, then he will be quite charming towards that one. However, if one is drab or plain, he is more than likely to act in a snobbish fashion. With only a few exceptions.
Character Background: Kestrel was born in the Land of Eternal Summer, and for the first few months of his life lived with the fairy herd. Yet an attack by the evil predator, Jinin-Jurrai, ended up with all the fairies enslaved save for a rare few. Kestrel escaped such a fate, having been out playing over the hill, but his parents were taken. He never saw them again. The young, lost foal was taken in by Justice and Aesculapius, who were both known to him. He was brought up by them until he was of an age to seek out the others of his lost kind. His travels took him over the mountains and far away, and an accident left him unable to remember his past. He met Flicker, another fairy, and that was when the dreams began. He had a vision of a land of eternal Summer, and it became his quest to find it. Along the way, he was joined not only by Flicker, but by many other equus who became part of his herd. After many a long month, they discovered their destination, only to find it had been razed to the ground by Jinin-Jurrai. Determined not to leave the land destroyed, Kestrel and his herd began the long task of bringing the beautiful land back to life, by planting trees, and calling other greenlife into being.

Personality: Eternal and wise, Lady Justice has the infinite task of weighing the souls of the dead. She balances them on her scales against a feather from her wing - although since her mating to Dio, it is one of his feathers that she uses to carry out the task. Stately and serene, the blind one considers things slowly, and does not act in haste. She strives to remain impartial in all things, yet now she has her own family.
Character Background: The only daughter of Mother Earth and Father Time, it has long been Justice's duty to weigh the souls of the dead. For the many years she has lived in this world, she has travelled from place to place, carrying out her eternal duty. For a time, she did pause in the Land of Eternal Summer, in the company of a herd of fairies - and then she was joined by her brother, Aesculapius. They guarded the Valley for a time, and even brought up a foal who survived Jinin-Jurrai's depredations. Yet in time, Justice moved on, and at last reached the lands of the Guardians of the Gate, where she lives now. It was there that she found the company of Lord Dio pleasing; due to some unfathomable progression of fate, their children were born as gods.

Personality: Suave, smooth and elegant, Lestat is quite capable of gentlemanly behaviour. At the same time, he has a love of scandal, of shocking people, of doing the unexpected. He moves in glitzy, glamorous circles, living off the vibrancy of the night. A vampire, he revels in all that he is, and is particularly close to his kind.

Personality: Harmony is a very dutiful, proper mare. She is very particular about doing things the right way, and following the rules. She is especially obedient when it comes to following her parents (Kestrel and Flicker)'s requirements. She does not object; indeed, does not even have any inclination to object. She is a very stay-at-home mare, and is not apt to wander far from her home in the Land of Eternal Summers. Nevertheless, though she has no taste for adventure, she always keeps herself busy, doing the chores that must be done, doing all her assigned tasks without complaint.
Character Background: Born to the leader of the Light of the Dawn herd, Kestrel, and his mate, Flicker, Harmony knows only the Land of Eternal Summer. She has two siblings, Melody and Descant, but other playmates have been Zorfilio and Elvis.

Personality: The wise, compassionate healer, Aesculapius has seen many things in his time, and has healed many wounds. He cares for his patients with a great depth of empathy, and his skill at healing is renowned. He has a strict code of ethics and honour; a healer's ethics, a healer's honour. First Do No Harm. Keep Matters in Confidentiality.
Character Background: The second son of Father Time and Mother Earth, Aesculapius is known by a multitude of names, far too many of them to list here. But whatever the name, he is always the Healer. His gift is healing physical wounds, and he holds great knowledge about this subject. For a time, he lived in the Land of Eternal Summer with his sister, Justice, and one of his pupils was the fairy foal, Kestrel. However, when Kestrel left them, he and Justice parted ways. Justice went travelling again, whilst Aesculapius remained. Now, he has another pupil, Kieri. He teaches her what he can about the healing arts. However, at times, he despairs at her clumsiness.

Personality: Cold, infinitely cold, Judgment can at times appear remote and callous. This is not entirely an illusion, for his task from birth has been to bring Judgment to those who have been found wanting on the scales of his mother, Lady Justice. Armed with his sword, he brings Judgment down upon those souls who have committed grave wrong. He is wedded to his duty. In fact, knows little else but his eternal duty as a god.
Character Background: Born a god, such power might be considered by some to be a great blessing. However, if it is a blessing for Judgment, he does not know it. For, having been born a god, he never was truly a foal. He has never known how to be a foal, never known how to have fun like a foal. It has always been duty, duty; he must carry out his eternal task. He did not even bother with adolescence, but moved straight to adulthood.

Personality: Lascivious and malevolent, Ill-Health delights in bringing sickness to the equus of the world. Where he walks, he leaves a trail of disease in his wake, devastating land and living beings alike. He has a particular fondness for mares, and will make leering advances. He has few morals, and goes where he wills. He delights in disease of all kinds.
Character Background: Little is known about this being.... save that he appeared one day. And was once mated to Attina.

Personality: Podagra takes after her father, Ill-Health. She is an equus riddled with disease, and takes great joy in sharing that disease with others. Cruel and spiteful, the one thing she cannnot stand is laughter, for laughter means someone is in good health, and that, she will not have.

Personality: Yu Huang is very much his mother's boy; a peaceful equus by nature, he has devoted himself to mediating all disputes. Although some - his sister and father in particular - have interpreted this to mean he is soft, Yu Huang is anything but. Inside, there is a core of determined steel. He is a wily negotiator, and knows how to manipulate those around him, though he will do so only to achieve an outcome that is best for all.
