Well, sticking a little more with the subject matter of this thread, I'll give some resource tips on my first cosplay subject: Pip Bernadette. Because sometimes, the eyepatch is a pain in the a** to find...to those who don't know where to look.
Pip's Hat I searched the net until I found a store in Austrailia, no less, that sells hats similar to Pip's. Each hat has a galvanized steel wire (really sturdy, yet flexible) in the brim of the hat which allows one side to be pushed up, like his. With the
Britanica Cowboys on the hat front, I'd either write it in marker, or, if you have a high tech sewing machine, write it out and hand-stitch it on. Something I've seen rarely on the internet is the patch on the side of the brim flipped up. I can't tell wether it's a griffon, dragon, or pegasi, but my guess is a griffon, dealing with England heraldry and all that sort. Again, this could be bought (good luck finding it) or made out of cloth, for those who want to do more handmade stuff.) The website for the hat I found is here -
Felt Hat I would recommend using the felt hat instead of the mesh one.
Eyepatch Usually found at a wal-mart or similar locale. I found mine at a wal-mart in the pharmacy section.
Badges As far as I can tell, he has three shield badges on his jacket. One on each arm, and one over his heart. There may be more, but for the sake of a high school budget, I kept mine simple. I've got a sketch in my journal of what each has on them, and the materials are relatively simple - a backing shield of felt with the different colored patches sewn in. My sewing machiene is a little more high-tech than most (it can stitch fonts, big ones) so that part in itself was easy. Sewing the patch together was hard. If you don't have a sewing machine like that, I suggest marker again. The white castles were white felt. On the back of his jacket - I only saw this in his introduction in Volume 2 - were the words in a half arc; "Light Here, Light Now" . To add symetry, I did another half arc, making a circle, saying "The Wild Geese" to add a little unity.
Anything else you can basically pick up at a store. I'm using a rubber self-defense handgun one of the black belts at my dojo is letting me borrow. I'll post pictures in my journal asap.
You can use the same idea for Seras's badges and anyone else's as well. I don't know what to do about anyone else's gloves. Mine are biker leather.
