I'm curious as to what really aggravates you in DnD. Something probably small, something that doesn't seem to aggravate anyone else, but somehow really just ticks you off. I'll start.
One of my major DnD pet peeves is the way people look at the Vow of Poverty feat. The first thing that comes to anyone's mind always seems to be "Vow of Poverty + Monk = l33tness! AWESOME!", and noone seems to even NOTICE the roleplaying aspects of the feat. They also ignore the fact that all these wonderful special abilities are granted because they can't use magic items that they normally would've gotten, and they have to expend two feats on this. They also don't seem to notice that they're supposed to be placed into poverty because of their own acts of charity, not just simply refusing to take money. In short, when a DM says that you'll be starting with less money than normal, or that you'll be taking the role of Monk, I think your first response should NOT be "Vow of Poverty".

My pet peeve is PCs who always want to play evil characters when it's nowhere near appropriate for the campaign in question. Dude, no you may not play a CE character when the rest of the part ys 2 NGs and one LG...
And then they always do it by going with the "I'm a spy for the other side inside the party" BS. I mean, if you'ge going to disrupt the campaign, at least be original about it...
AND THEN, they get ticked off when they backstab the party and the party wins their retaliation, either killing the character or taking him to the proper authorities and definitely never trusting the PC in question to continue adventuring with them, so they have to maek a new character... <_<
PEOPLE, GET OVER IT!!! EVIL CHARACTERS ARE NOT APPROPRIATE FOR EVERY CAMPAIGN!!!

See, that isn't CE, that's Stupid Evil. Big difference. Even a Chaotic Evil character understands the benefits of having backup.
Vow of poverty pisses me off. Vow of Peace pisses everyone else off. 3nodding
One of my pet peeves are the "Poof, new character, introduce self" entrance, or the "I don't like this character, new character" thing every session. Smack people upside the head. It's a bad thing when your party has been on the same campaign, and you are one of two characters out of 6-8 characters that were around near the beginning.

Yes, but what I mean is the VAST majority of people who play Evil characters want to play them like that, and when you say some people can't do it, it's really only fair to say the people who do it rationally can, either.
And UGH! I know what you mean about people that change characters all the time. I swear every time my firends and I start a new campaign one of the peope we know switches character ideas LITERALLY like 3 times per day... sweatdrop

I agree with y...ah crap, I changed a character recently. In my defense, it was the only time I've ever done so, and the character really wasn't appropiate for the campaign. I mean, what's the point of being an undead hunter when there's NO undead to hunt?

There's no need for my character, now that John has his uber overly powerful cretin of destruction that heals too.

You seemed particularly un-enthused last session, and with good reason.

Depends whether or not the entire party is munchkining evenly. If they are, simpl increasing CR should be good enough, but yeah when it's just one person out of the entire party, it is very disruptive, as when you challenge the other players, that player find it easy, and when you challenge that play, the others find it impossible...

Heh, I'd have to really agree about players wanting to play evil characters or races when its really inappropriate for the campaign. I've been having a problem with that lately. . . this one guy keeps wanting to play a CE or LE character, when most of the party is NG or CG. And he always wants to pick fights with the other characters at the stupidest times.

Hmm...munchkins...normally I wouldn't mind a player attempting to increase his character's power, except I like to play Bards, and whenever we're in combat munchkins make me feel kind of sad, and insignificant...so screw them!

I Really should consider playing bad guys more often....I'm good at it when I want to be....

I recently started playing a campaign where I started out playing a CN bard with self-destructive tendancies. He got turn CE but a Deck of Many Things. Now he not only inflicts unneccissary misery on not only himself, but everyone around him.
And yet, he still contributes enough to the party that they really really don't want to get rid of him. They don't even realize he's evil, yet, just miserable and maybe a little sadistic.
What I hate are parody characters. Everyone wants to be Drizzt or that one halfling who doesn't notice when he steals stuff. stare Seriously, make up your own characters.
