A secluded park filled with statues of people no one honestly cares about. A great place for picnics, romantic afternoons, and the occasional meeting of the occult. Also a great place for petty crime; there's plenty of trees to toss those puppies into...

Sarah walked into the park hoping to find some form of life so she can talk about anime with them. But Not a single soul was found. She sighed wondering if they knew she was coming and hide so she decided to look behind the trees and rocks and hoped to find some form of life. " Come on out. I swear i won't talk about anime." It was so quiet you could hear a cricket chirping. Well till the cricket heard her voice and ran off. " No! Mr.cricket! Come back!" She sighed sitting underneath a pine tree. A pine cone fell on her head and she looked to see a squirrel. She Gleed with joy and grabbed it. " Oh My Gosh! Did you see last nights Full metal Alchemist Mr. Squirrel? Well.." She rambled on to the squirrel. A look of fear in his eyes. He bite her and she yelled. The squirrel ran off, Sarah grunted. " Stupid Squirrel." She looked around. " I should get this bite checked out.." She headed to the exit but turned around. She swore she heard footsteps but saw no one. So she shruged and left to go find a doctor or anyone for that matter.

Mitch walked through the park at quarter past eleven. He was on his way home from his new job as a sommelier at the same restaurant where he had once cooked. He wasn't quite sure how working at a restaurant was going to work out, given what had happened. But he figured he could put his nose to work and advise patrons of wine. He stopped when he smelt a fragrance foreign to flora and fauna. It was distinctly Japanese, but he had not quite identified it. He crept around the bend and noticed a girl trying to talk to animals. "Pocky," he muttered. "Well, I'm in no mood to make chit chat. I best be off," he thought as he began to walk to his new apartment.

It was only a short walk from Cait's house to the park, meaning that Josh had very little time to figure out what he was going to talk to her about. He really had to stop acting on impulses like this... "So... Uh... Nice weather we're having..."

Continued From: The Kassidy HouseIt didn't take long to get to the park, Muddle Way was only about 2 blocks away. Cait breathed the air deeply, it was nice to not be in her stuffed up bedroom for a moment... The air was crisp, and fresh and... "So... Uh... Nice weather we're having..." Cait turned to stare at Josh, "Uhhh...Josh.....It's raining..." "So it is..." They looked at each other and Cait started laughing, "So did you just bring me out here to confuse me with weather comments?"

When Cait started laughing, a smile found it's way across Josh's face as well. He had noticed the rain, of course, he just hadn't had any back-up conversation starters. "I guess I'm just trying to confuse you, then." He smiled, trying to reason with his pounding heart. Why are you so nervous? This is Cait! You've known her for years! I mean, sure she's cute, but she's your friend. You don't need to be so... Yes, I get that all I want to do right now is... Ooooooh, I get it now...Snapping out of his own head, Josh looked over at Cait. "You know, we're getting soaked. We should probably go under a tree or something..."

"Aww, but where would the fun be in that?" Cait wiped a drip from her eye. She hadn't realized how much the stress was getting to her until she started to relax... She could really feel the knots in her back now... They found the nearest big leafy tree and stood near the trunk as Cait started to shiver. Her jacket wasn't holding much heat. And she had pretty much soaked through already. "So how was work today? anything interesting happen?"

"Actually, yeah. I accidentally got a bunch of little kids drunk and their mothers came after me. It was..... 'interesting' I guess you could say." Josh realized that Cait was shivering. "Hey, you okay? Here, take this." He pulled off his own jacket and offered it to her. She gave him a fierce look for a moment or two, then gave in and took it. Watching her pull the jacket, Josh forgot his earlier thoughts on impulsiveness. "Hey, Cait? There's something I need to tell you..."

At that Cait felt a shiver go up her spine (though that may have had something to do with being soaked). As much as she hated being offered things, it had been sweet of josh to offer her his jacket. She wasn't used to being treated well. Coincidentally, she also wasn't used to good things coming from 'There is something i need to tell you.' Especially because of the "I had something to tell you, but i forgot" comment she had made two weeks previously... She most definately had not actually forgotten, she had just decided she didn't want to say it after all, and at the very last moment. Cait did her best to put on her happy face. "Ok, shoot." Inside she was shaking uncontrolably.

"Cait, I just wanted to say..." Suddenly, the reasoning portion of Josh's brain started working and he realized exactly what he almost said. He started scrambling for topics, but couldn't come up with anything, especially now that he had used the weather... "I just wanted to say... I feel like I don't see you anymore. You're always so busy and I..." Josh trailed off. This wasn't what he had wanted to talk to Cait about, of course, but it was a roundabout way of getting to the real issue. At least, that's what he told himself.

Cait watched Josh stumble for words, but it turned out to be much less than what she thought. She relaxed slightly, but remained gaurded. "I know that i've pretty much been locked up in my room the last few...months... But I should finally have some free time...Oh, say...When we graduate from college?" She smiled wryly and pulled his jacket tighter around her shoulders. He didn't come here to talk about my busyness.... He was obviously nervous about something, she could see it in the way he slumped his shoulder forward and widened his eyes....He always did that when he was nervous and it was obvious that he had something else to say... "Josh, that isn't what is bothering you, is it?"

"Well, it does bother me but... Okay, it's not what I want to talk to you about..." Nearly out of tricks, Josh fell back on his really bad analogies. "Okay, Cait, it's like this... You know I'd rather stab myself with a rusty... Banana than do anything that might risk our friendship." Josh tried to laugh, but the look Cait was giving him screamed just say it!"The thing is, I like you. A lot..." Josh looked away, embarrassed. "I'm sorry..."

Shock. How else could Cait describe how she was feeling at that moment in time? Well... No, that was pretty much it. She had been right. And something she had wanted for a very long time was finally starting to come true. He did like her, and..and she liked him... So...Wait...She had no time for a relationship with her work load. "I, uhh...Umm...Uhh.....I..." He liked her! What the hell? "Well..Umm..I...Wait, Why are you apologizing?" Damnit! She had totally just screwed it up now... She reached over and made him look at her... "What i mean to say is...I like you too i guess..." It was at that moment that Cait's coffee reserves wore off, and her narcolepsy kicked in.

Josh had barely gotten out, "Really, you do?" before Cait collapsed. Josh, quite caught up in the cheesy romance moment, assumed she was swooning. He was about to do the same, if only for effect, when a thought broke through his hazed mind. "Oh, crap! The narcolepsy!" He dropped to his knees beside her and began to shake her lightly. "Cait, wake up!"
