I'll forever love you
Even if you're doomed
We'll always be together
'Cause we're both under the moon

There are no official rules for tag-team dueling. One must agree to what rules and victory methods you will use beforehand.

speaking of tag-team... both Tag Force and SDI spoiler have hinted that multiplayer might be a new format that will be coming out soon. Also, most shops do host multiplayer games, where the rules they got where of there own.

It's probably a good idea to check the internet, since some people have made a good set of rules for multiplayer. But, the legit ones will probably come out soon enough. (wait for august when SDI comes out...it's said to have "new system" cards)

when me and my friends do a tag team, we play with one of 2 game systems

game system1 - joined life points(both teams start with 16000)
in this system, your lifepoints are the same as your teammate's so if you reach 0, your both out. if you have no monsters on your side of the filed and your teammate does, your opponet can attack through you for direct damage. this system requires the most team work.

game system2 - seperate lifepoints(you each have 8000)
in this system, you each have seperate lifepoints. if your teammate reaches 0, you continue dueling. this requires less team work.

rules that apply to poth systems
[p1 and p2 are a team][p3 and p4 are a team]

1:In the normal game, there are 2 sides to the field. Your side and your opponet's side. In tag team, there are 4 sides to the field. p1's side, p2's side, p3's side, and p4's side.

2: you cannot tribute your teammate's monsters for any form of summoning

3: cards like Swords of Revealing Light, Harpie's Featherduster, and Raigeki only tagets one opponet
[EX1] p1 plays swords on p3. p3 cannot attack p1 or p2 for their next 3 turns while p4 can.
[EX2] p1 plays Raigeki and chooses p3's side of the field. p3's monsters die and p4 keeps his.)

4:Cards like Heavy Storm affects all players. Simply put, if in a 2 player game, it would affect you and your opponet, it affects all players
[EX] p1 has an Ectoplasmer spell card out. during EACH player's turn, they must do Ectoplasmer's effect.

5: if a card effect has the word(s) on "your side of the field" or "your graveyard", they only apply to you due to rule 1.
[EX] if p1 has Necrovalley out and also has Gravekeeper's Chief in play, p2's graveyard is still affected by Necrovalley and cannot have any cards removed from it in any way other than effects activating in the graveyard its self. this excludes Peten the Dark Clown because Necrovalley prevents cards in the graveyard from being removed from play.

if you have any real specific questions, i'll answer them

There are no official rules on tag team matches, seeing as how they are still basede on house rules.
Though most would use the Tag Force rules as more of an 'official' set of rules, but there's still no official set of rules in print from Konami/UDE.

actualy there has been one made but its like secert(in the U.S)and compalcted
The rules are pretty simple once you have played
ill brake it down
Decks:You use your own
Graves:are combind Hopefully the person you tag with uses sleves that you can tell a part.
Feild:Shared You each get 5 M zones 5 S/T between the 2 of you
Hands:Like deck use your own
LP:Joined like feild.
Now turns are bit more compcated ill do it like this P standing for person # satnding for where they start at in the dule
P 1 Can do every thing with his/her hand and Has power of the feild.
They may not attack 1st turn.Team mate must be P 3
P 2 razz retty much the same applies as P 1 he or she cant attack 1st turn either.
P 3:Has control of the feild and still not able to attack 1st turn

P 4:Has contorl and can attack

Has control of the feild(now i will tell you what this means)
Control of the feild must make all his choices Alone as if it where a regular duel.
He or she may ask go for it?
Team mate may repale.
other then this by having control of the feild they control all spells & Traps &monsters and effcts of cards.cards such as some level monsters that level up after meeting that requerment MUST be done it no matter what of leveling
Examples
silent swordsman Lvl 2 destroyes propley and levels up if deck has Proper card if not the card is sent to the grave.
Then payments of cards Must be meat or the card is sent to the grave.
Quick play magics can only be acive by player who has contorl of feild.
Players who have control of feild have contorl intill there team mates turn

Official Tag Team Duel Rules
These are the Official Tag-Team Rules, brought out to co-incide with the new cards from Cyberdark Impact.

Each player needs their own Deck, 2 players make a team.
Each team shares 8000 Life Points. When they drop to 0 your team loses.
Take turns in this order: Team A’s Player 1 >> Team B’s Player 1 >> Team A’s Player 2 >> Team B’s player 2 (This is the first player who can make an attack.)
You can Tribute your partner’s monsters for your cards or Tribute Summons.
Cards that say “your opponent’s side of the field” mean both opponents. So if each of your opponents had two face-up monsters out, "Lightning Vortex" would destroy all four of them.
You can’t attack the Life Points of the Other Team directly unless neither of them have a monster, so if there is at least 1 monster across the Other Team's entire number of Monster Card Zones, they cannot attack their Life Points directly.
