I don't do much DIY. But I might start making candies, the raving brightly colored bracelets.
This one time I made a "punk mole" for chemistry.

I was about to cut the sleeves off of a leather jacket and make a vest for the summer and everyone told me it wouldn't work and you need a seamstress to do it for some reason. Thoughts?

Yuck. Save the leather for winter, and use a denim jacket instead, it'd be easier to work with, and probably look better, and it'd be cooler(Temp. wise).

Ok...you asked for a list...
Made a yellow t-shirt with the word "orphan"
Modified a white t-shirt with the word "KiLL" with dripping black letters
Modified a grey w/black sleeves baseball T with the phrase "Reject False Icons"
Made a black t-shirt with the word "******** oFf AnD DiE!" with red letters
Made a red t-shirt with the phraze "Im different because the rest of you are brainwashed to think that way" in black.
Made a black t-shirt with "Anti-Establishment" in red
Modified a dark blue muscle shirt with U.S.A on it by going across the U.S.A part with an anarchy symbol with red fabric paint and underneath that I put the word "FREEDOM".
I made a pair of plaid pants, which ended up falling apart in the wash stare ...I cant sew pants...
I made a stud vest outta a leather jacket, I put studs all over the shoulders to where the chest starts, I put a Rancid patch on the left side of the chest, a Unseen patch on the right side of the chest and I have a Hellcat Records backpatch that has "GIVE EM THE BOOT" on it (weather or not the give em the boot thing is the movie that Tim Armstrong did is beyond me).

Yea, I did the same thing with mine. Your gonna have to rip out the cloth inlay though, you can do that with scissors. Without the cloth inlay it will be much cooler for the summer too.

Yea I know that its the slogan/CD series, I have a few of the CD's, but Tim Armstrong also put out a movie by that name and it was under Hellcat...at least I think it was...I just wasnt sure.
