Shoot! You beat me to it. But anyway, I have already solved the next-gen "wars." If you really think about it, the X360 is already dead. For those of you who can remember, at launch, it was seriously undershipped and Microsoft's worldwide launch failed miserably. Strike one. If you were lucky enough to get one at launch, the launch titles really weren't that impressive. (Debatable, let me know) All graphics, no gaming. Strike two. After this year's E3, while the other big companies kept bragging about their new titles and features to come, and even some no-name companies too eek , Microsoft stood shockingly quiet. A few third-party titles were released but nothing that will stick (Debatable also, try me xd ) Strike three, they're out!
Next for bashing-PS3. This was going to be an amazing system. Sony had everything down, and until recently, I was very excited for this system to come out. I was even putting aside some money for it exclaim , The preview graphics were amazing, the launch titles matched them-Final Fantasy XIII!!!!!!! (Yeah, I will really miss this game sad ) Everything was perfect. Until Sony let the cat out of the bag- $500 US for the bare console! That's outrageous! This will make a great system for those Hollywood gamers rolleyes . Every gamer knows that if you're gonna invest in a console, you can't get the cheap one. And I don't have $600! But that's not what made me give up on them. I am a pretty hardcore gamer, even if I'm poor crying o.O By the way, if you are thinking you can fork over that much dough, be prepared to pay $90-100 US for EACH GAME! Yeah, it's ALMOST funny... But anyway, what really made me snap is Sony's attempt at "innovative." We all know Nintendo constantly strives to be "innovative" Not to have the best graphics, not the most power. The best gameplay and a different way of delivering it that every gamer can love. They achieved this with their latest controller (you've all seen it-nicknamed the "wiimote") Well, a few months before Nintendo revealed this, Sony had already released their specs and not-so-innovative features (and no rumble, whats up with that?) But, at E3, six months after releasing this, they announce to the world "Guys, we were just kidding. Our controller is amazing to," and show a black controller that is strikingly similar to the PS2's with one huge difference-it is MOTION SENSITIVE!!! I think I screamed when I heard this first. Ripping off Nintendo's idea just for competition. That's sick. And they didn't even copy it right either, no. See, the Sony copy is motion sensitive internally. It can sense if you're moving the controller up, down, and such from inside the controller. While Nintendo's sense's externally through a "sensor strip" at your TV. This makes for a lot more comprehensive movements. Anyway, now that Sony's out of my mind-there's one left.
We now move to the Wii (lol, I've lost most everybody by now rofl ) Nintendo is not claiming to beat out anyone with horsepower. The Wii's graphics are reportedly "slightly better than a Gamecube, but not quite up to the [original] Xbox" But that's not what makes gaming fun. This system is just plain FUN! Didn't it look like Miyamoto was having fun playing tennis with the controller? I think it will be quite amusing when a mother walks into her son's room to see him standing up, waving his arms around and looking at the TV. "Hey mom, want to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl with me?" The launch titles are exactly what you would expect from Ninty (Mario Bros. Galaxy, SSB Brawl, Wii Sports, and oh, can't forget Red Steel!) I think the Wii, despite its name, will also be very fun to play any FPS on, and remember, you can always break out the Classic controller and play your favorite NES and SNES games for FREE with WiiConnect24. I can't wait for this one, and I'll be lining up on launch day (sometime this summer biggrin )
Anyone want to protest? 3nodding

I LUFF MY 360. MICROSOFT WAS SMART NOT SHIPPING A LOT OF 360'S SO THEY CAN MAKE THEM MORE MONEY. CONTROLLERS AND EXTREMELLY COMFORTABLE. I DON'T GET SWEATY HANDS.
PS3 IS THE UGLIEST LOOKING CONSOLE I EVER SAW.
THE WII, I NEVER REALLY LIKED GAMECUBE.

eddiek- They don't make more money if they don't sell consoles. The supply didn't meet the demand, meaning they could have gotten more money if they had enough for everybody to buy. I didn't say anything about the controller, but I have held it and I like it much better than the original one. That was pretty random about the PS3 being ugly... And the Wii is nothing like the Gamecube.
I have to admit I am looking forward to Halo 3. But I won't buy a 360 for it. My friend will have LAN tournaments as soon as its out. We had lots of Halo 2 parties - 4 boxes and 16 players, but there were like 30 people there rofl

BUT WTF Gladly biggrin A local area network is two or more computers (or Xboxes lol ) connected together with a router. Instead of connecting from different access points, they all connect through the same one, and the only people that can join a LAN connection have to be running through your router (basically only things in your house) LAN can also be when one computer (or XBox) does not have internet access, but is linked through an ethernet cord to one that is connected. It's a lot more fun than XBox Live because you are sitting right next to the people you are killing, and my friends LAN parties tend to be very loud because of this mrgreen

This really isn't a battle of hardware anymore, it's purely software. Each system has a next-gen title that is equally (or more) appealing than the system itself.
So, take your pick-Final Fantasy XIII, Halo 3, or Super Smash Bros. Brawl (oh, oh, and Red Steel, and Metroid Prime 3, and Zelda:Twilight Princess)
Needless to say, once again wii win!

Well being a gamer of knowledge here's some info about some of the systems:
- Nintendo artificially inflating the line up for Wii (by having much longer play times than Sony/MS allow, and requiring a line in the first place in stead of a row of consoles anyone can walk up to and use)
- Wii/Rev's controller not as accurate as hoped, lacks expected functionality The Rev controller is incapable of letting you point directly at an object on screen, think of it more like an analog stick with the sensor bar as the middle. And when you point away from it, it knows the angle (unless you point too far, then it stops working)
- PS3's controller not a rip off of Wii/Rev Yes, Sony had demoed the technology for PSP before Wii/Rev's controller was announced, and had it patented in 1994. Sorry no copy, And according to IGN, PS3s tilt sensitivity works great, and much easier to develop for
- PS3 uses the cross media bar from PSX/PSP/Expensive TVs. And it looks goregous. The web browser lets you switch between tabs like a photo slideshow of sorts.
- XBOX360 to get a $100 external USB HD DVD drive for movies only Making the 360 a very cheap HD DVD player. I'm curious if it has security to stop you from using it on a PC, if it doesn't I may just grab one.
- Nintendo wants you to use the DS to tell the Rev/Wii to download stuff, just like Sony announced PSP will do with the PS3. Yes you heard right, Nintendo is copying. But Nintendo won't get any flack from it.
- Sony removed dual HDMI support from the PS3 I was looking forward to that feature icon_crying.gif Maybe it'll allow HDMI and SDTV output though
- The cheaper PS3 does use wireless controllers Despite what ignorant fanboys claim.
- The 20 gig PS3 is only $50 (Canadian) more than the 20 gig XBOX360 Not much of a difference. I forsee a 360 price drop in the near future (I beleive one was announced)
