I was watching an episode of Filter on G4 Tech TV today, and Shenmue placed 2nd as one of the worst games of all time!
I repeat.
SHENMUE PLACED 2ND AS ONE OF THE WORST GAMES OF ALL TIME!
How could this happen?! Shenmue just happens to be one of my favorite games on the Dreamcast console! But I did think 2 for X Box sucked. But they were talking about number 1.
Your thoughts?

Not having played Shenmue myself, I can't really say anything about it... However, having read many reviews and seen many screenshots/movies, I can confidently say that Shenmue is probably one of the BETTER games ever made.
G4 is an advertising whore anyway. Tech TV was mediocre on its own, but at least it was better than G4. Now that they've merged, there's nothing videogame-related on TV that's actually worth watching anymore, IMO. xp

I don't get G4 or Tech Tv sad But I do have Shenmue for my Dreamcast. I haven't played it much, (I got about 30 games in a month and haven't had time to play them all yet.) But what I did play of it didn't seem to be that interesting. The gameplay isn't exactly my cup of tea, if you know what I mean. I actually ended up spending all of my money on those little toy machines with the sonic figures in them. sweatdrop

Shenmue is AWESOME!
I spent all my time in Shenmue playing videogames (I love the punching and the darts ones), and buying toys, candy and music cassettes.
Plus, it had the full games of Space Harrier and Super Hang-On!!
How can it be bad?? ^_^

I CRY crying I love shenmue it is almost my favorite game for the dreamcast. Although i have G4 i only watch Cinimatech because i like to see the games.
I think that is how i have come to want to own Tales of symhponia(I think?? or was it nintendo site Oh well)

hum, I never played it, but you all seem to like it and now I wanna. I do agree though, tech tv(yes I still call it that) kinda blows now. And I dont think that the nba game really deserved a top spot.

i've never played Shenmue but i've wanted too for mad long...
do u have to pay for Tech TV now b/c my grandma used to get it for free and now it's gone, i used to watch it in New Jersey

I have digital cable and Tech TV's in the hundreds. But it merged with G4, so that might be why you don't get it. RoyLink Shenmue was awesome! I loved it! never finished it tho....i loved getting the little toys in the eggs! Plus G4 is the worst place to go for video game anything...i hate that channel...if they had real gamers running it, it would be alot better. Filter's a show based on polls that gamers voted on. So it wasn't G4's decision to put Shenmue where it went. I just can't believe that that many people hated it. I guess you gotta be a pretty hardcore Sega fan to like it or something.

Shenmue was a kick-a** ALMOST incompletable game, bbut then along came shanmue 2 which was set in the much more modern china. This gave it a more realistic feel and it's still a game I have not completed. I liked it so much that after my Dreamcast exploded, I instantly got 2 on the XBOX. The controls are tricky and you can't go back to the main menu without turning off and on the console stare But it's still great and shanmue shouldn't have even been a nominee for the worst game. Full stop. xp
