didn't see any .hack thread around...so I decided to make one about the games! (when an anime forum comes up I'll make one there too biggrin )
phwee...there are currently 4 .hack games out (well actually 5)
.hack//INFECTION
.hack//MUTATION
.hack//OUTBREAK
and
.hack//QUARANTINE
if ya need any help just ask me k cuz I've beaten them all 3nodding
and now to wait for the newly released .hack//G.U. It's only out in Japan...but I heard there's more action and adventure in the first few hours of the first //G.U. game than there are of all the past 4 games combined! I want it so badly whee According to "Play" magazine it's due for the U.S. in September (I hope sooner >w<) well...discuss about .hack here mrgreen

The meanings of G.U.
--- Grow Up

There are 12 meanings to G.U. I need to know all of them *drool*AIDA
--- Anti-Intrustion Device for "AURA"
--- Artificial Intelligence Data Anomaly
--- Automatic Idea D(something) Infection

Possible theories for //G.U. vol. 2
-Tri-Edge is a temporary replacement for Aura.
-Ovan is trying to find and destroy the Key of the Twilight, using the Epitaph Wielders to revive an Evil Morgana.
-Ovan killed Shino to help bring Haseo's avatar out while framing Tri-Edge. Ovan's shadow appears at the doorway of the cathedral moments before she was attacked.
-Tri-Edge is hunting down Ovan to prevent him from finding Aura, which explains why he was at the cathedral and at the field Phyllo was: Ovan was there as well.
-Ovan is an "AIDA master", which explains why he has a huge AIDA locked in his arm.
-Tri-Edge tries to prevent the Epitaph wielders from awakening, which explains why he data drains Haseo back to level 1.
-Tri-Edge is a repairer and protector of the World's data. He repairs a glitch in the system in episode 13 of roots and he attacks AIDA, Epitaph Wielders, hackers, and other irregularities in the system.
-Orca and Balmung from Volume 2 of G.U. are created for the same purpose as Tri-Edge, caretakers of the World.
-Atoli can't stop her bitching at Haseo for "flirting" with Yowkow in volume 2...
-Kuhn is Sieg from the first games.
-Shino was a player of the first version of the World.

I love Dot Hack. It is my absolute favorite. It was the first manga my friend lent me and I fell in love with it. I have three of the video games, I can't find the second one in the town I live in but it does not really matter becasue I am still playing the first game. I need to get more things to hack gates to advance, I am just too lazy to go get them. I can hardly wait for the new game, it is so unfair that Japan gets all the games first.

MissDotHacker I love Dot Hack. It is my absolute favorite. It was the first manga my friend lent me and I fell in love with it. urg I hate getting virus cores stare it's so annoying scream wait 'til you get to //QUARANTINE ...you'd die trying to get all the virus cores...and that really long dungeon with all the data bugs in each room gonk
I can't wait until //G.U. comes out whee well Japan's the one that made them so it's right that they get it first...but I wish they'd release it worldwide at the same time @w@ that way nobody feels left out! xD

wow .hack//ROOTS is so cool! I've only seen one episode and I already think it's great blaugh and I thought it'd be boring stare *hits self on the head* what am I talking about? .hack shall never be boring! xD I'm weird today rolleyes

I agree that getting the virus cores is really annoying. I wish there was an easy way to hack gates. I want //G.U. to come out too but this way I have more time to beat the games. That is true about Japan getting it first but it would be nice if they released it to the world at the same time.
When did //ROOTS come out? I though it was a few more weeks? I don't know how dot hack could ever be boring.

//ROOTS started airing in Japan sometime in April...I'm just watching those fansubbed ones on youtube sweatdrop

I am sure it will come to the US soon. I want them to release //ROOTS in the US but I am sure it be awhile before the US gets it. I might break down and watch it on youtube.

I praobly would not be able to see if they aired it in the US either, I will just try and buy the box set one of these days.

if it were to air in the U.S. I'm sure they'd take forever to dub it...and if it's going to be on cable I won't be able to watch it because my mom keeps telling me that she's going to cancel our cable because "we can't afford it" but I'm pretty sure we can afford it. She won't tell me how much her salary is because she says that I'll want more allowance...and she doesn't even give me allowance scream it's strange stare

I agree with you that it would take forever to dub and then their is the risk that the dubs will be bad. I would go crazy without cable. I don't watch a lot of tv but every now and then I feel like watching it. I hate it when parents say they can't afford something. That is kinda strange that your mom says that. You could always go to a friends house to watch tv if your mom cancelles it or you could do what my parents said, get a job and pay for it yourself.
I want to watch it so bad now but I must wait.

I love these games. The story was original and the characters were all so appealing. The gameplay was fun too, even though dungeon crawling got tedious after a while. The games were way too short too. I can't wait for G.U. to come out!
Balmung is my favorite character, but I like a lot of them. Some people say I am like Natsume.

I had no clue what was going on or anything whatsoever of the storyline...but I just watched it because the character design was amazing ><
I hated going through the dugeons...but I heard in //G.U. the dungeons got a total makeover! There's even some special stuff that happens in them @w@ I can't wait for it to come out either whee
I like Natsume too! I always invite her to my party...I also like Mistral ^^ ...my least favorite is that guy that looks like Crim. Nuke Usumarigu...or something like that sweatdrop

t_s_u_k_a_s_a...I need help. crying Mia's dungeon in the first game is driving me off the wall!!! scream How do I beat it? ACK!!! I HATE not being able to get through dungeons!!!
