Characters I would prefer if you PM'd me this information, so that it is on hand here. Name: Race: Age: Appearance: Archetype:(The DnD class that best fits your character. For my information) Profession: Possessions: Skills: History:
----------------------------------------------------------- Name: Jack Seoc Player: Fav Race: Human Age: 32 Appearance: As he was once described, all hard angles and wiry muscle. Archetype: None, or multiclassed up the wazoo Profession: Scout, Mercenary, Woodsman, freelance adventurer Possessions: Basic adventuring gear, longsword, handaxe, longbow, studded leather with chain and plate on right shoulder, light warhorse: Ravenwing Skills: A jack-of-all-trades, pun not intended, decent with all of his various weapons, as well as unarmed. He also is an adequate woodsman and scout, with some other varied unrelated skills. History: The third of five children, Jack, then seventeen, enlisted in the Brylin army, where his skills as a scout and woodsman came in handy, primarily to get away from working his parents farm. After eight years, three of which fighting in the North Marches, he was discharged, at which point he spent another four years as a mercenary. For the last three years, he's been working as a freelance adventurer, when he decided to take the first ship of the season over to the recently-discovered West Lands, intending to find his fortune there.
Name: Cilia Serik Player: Fav Race: Suwari Age: 23 Appearance: Looking nothing so much as a bipedal puma, she stands slightly shorter than average for her race, at just under five and a half feet. Archetype: Sorcerer/Wizard Profession: Magus Possessions: Magestaff (iron-bound quarterstaff), dagger, spellbook, basic adventuring gear, horse: Ethelinda Skills: Adept rank with sorcery, Journeyman rank with wizardry. Limited combat training History: Hailing from the Southlands, she spent fourteen years in the city of Sunspire, learning wizardry, during which her sorcery awakened, necessitating a higher load of training for the final six years, and extending her stay by three years. As she finished just in time, she made haste to the city of Sorn Cove, where she caught the first ship of the season over to the new continent.
Name: Ounid [woo-nid] Player: Xindaris Race: Wijin Age: 12 (29 in human years) Appearance: Looks like a particularly large wolf with dark brown fur and eyes Archetype: Fighter; Nomad Profession: Left the pack (formerly Hunter) Possessions: (none) Skills: Extremely good fighter. More capable of speaking human language than most of his kind. History: Ounid is a Wijin who left his pack not long ago. The Wijins are basically wolves of human or near human intelligence. He was more curious than most of the others about the newcomers, and eventaully went to see for himself. He's still on friendly terms with the rest of the Wijins since changing packs every once in awhile is common among them.
Name: Alita Player: Nightsongs Race: Human Age: 17 Appearance: about 57 and 130lbs. She has tattoo on her shoulder which desperately tries to keep hidden as well as several scars that came from pervious beating that were dealt out by either her father or the guards. Due to this fact she is quite body shy and even if injured will not allow anyone to touch her if the scars would show, even if she cant quite take care of it herself. She has long dark brown hair that she wears down to cover some of her scars that might be visible. She has a cloak that she wears inside out from the original design, black on the outside and the emblem of her fathers house on the inside which she is working on removing but only does so at night so no one will see. Her eyes are deep green, but they have no sparkle because of the fears in her mind about being caught. Archetype: none as of yet Profession: cook Possessions: A pair of well worn boots, a belt with dagger and sheath, two sets of fairly plain clothes that dont quite fit and a set that are actually hers that are a bit nicer, a water skin, sewing kit and a small Arabian horse. Skills: cooking, cleaning and other womans work horse riding History: Alita was raised with a wealthy family with many brothers and sisters. Unfortunately for her she had always wanted to ride with her brothers rather than being inside with her mother sewing and cooking, but that was forbidden. Always anything she wanted to do it seemed was forbidden. One night she did the unthinkable, she snuck out to the stables and took one of the horses that they owned and went into the woods nearby and got onto the horse, well tried to. Many hours and bruises later she was on he horse rather than on the ground, unfortunately for her she was seen by one of the house guards and someone was sent out to get her. Rather than face the undoubtedly brutal beatings that she would endure she set the horse running and held on for dear life. Needless to say by the time that the horse stopped running she was completely lost. She couldnt go home so the only choice she had was to keep running. Running is now her only option, she is trying to get away from where her family would have any power. Somewhat naive and innocent she hopes to see the best from people, and often gets herself into trouble to the point that shes running not only to escape the reaches of her father but a few other people who are less that happy with things shes said or done. She found herself on the boat only a few weeks after she had run away, yet even in that amount of time shes learned that quite often bad things happen when she opens her mouth. Unfortunately she still does it quite often, but now she knows to duck the various objects that may be flung in her general direction at any time.
Name: Rana Player: Yokka Race: Elf Age: 19 Appearance: deep blue eyes, silver hair; wears a very long robe that matches her eyes at the top and fades to the color of her hair at the bottom. Archetype: Healer Profession: Has been looking for one for a year. Possessions: Carries several odd things in the pockets of her robe. Skills: Empathist-capable of only self-healing magic, but has a strange talent to take upon herself the wounds of others, seems to be clumsy with almost anything given to her to do. History: Rana came on the previous ship to town, but has yet to find anything she's really useful for. She has used her strange talent to help people from time to time, but wants much more to go deeper into the continent.
Name: Vincent Skye Player: 31337Ninja Race: Human Age: 16 Appearance: Coal-black hair to the small of his back, Hazel eyes, about 5'6". Wears a crimson colored poncho-like cloak, concealing a set of daggers on his hip. Archetype: Thief Profession: Stowaway/Bandit Possessions: Set of six daggers on his hip, and a pair of goggles around his neck. Skills: Sneaking around unnoticed, Pickpocketing History: As a b*****d son of an unfit mother, he was abandoned at the age of 7. After living off the streets, and learning the ways of the thief, he learns about a new land, discovered across the sea. Determined to reach this new land, he had many unsuccessful attempts at reaching the docks, due to the fact that there were guards everywhere. Finally making it into the cargo hull, he spent the shipride rifling through the crates, finding many rations of food, and weapons, and such.

FAQ Q: What are the races? A: Standard DnD races, Xindaris' horse-sized wolves, Suwari (cat people), Seluni (wolf people). Perhaps some others, when I remember them. Ones others come up with, so long as they aren't too powerful. That sort of thing.

((Now, to begin this mess.))
arrow Aboard the Valen's Pride
From where he sat, up near the bow, Jack could see the city of Ikender approaching, or, turning his head, look back along the ship, see some of the other passengers of the ship, including several of the Knights, who were glaring at any of the non-human or -elvish passengers. They had already learned not to give the crew trouble.
Closer to the stern, Cilia sat, focusing on keeping the winds under proper control to speed them along. Given the price of passage, only having to pay half is an attractive proposition, even for a mage poorly skilled with air manipulation. Part of her focus was in ignoring the Knights, who had made their dislike for her and several other passengers known, vehemently, at the beginning of the three-month journey.

Ounid came near the edge of the forest. He went over to where there was a pathway beaten by the New Things to wait. He knew sooner or later a group would come by small enough not to intimidate him. When they did, he knew what to do. He had to ind out everything he could about them, what they called themselves, everything. He was probably the only one of his kind who could speak in a way the New Things understood. It had been several years since they had landed on their strange objects from the Great Water and begun destroying the forest for whatever purposes they might have. Ounid wasn't hostile to them; they seemed not to know there were Wijin about at all by the way they were doing things. So he would wait and watch, and find out something about them. Soon, he told himself, soon... It was indeed once again the season that they usually started moving outward again, that was how he knew that some of them, hopefully not too many, would have to use this path soon. He'd be waiting.

(( sweatdrop here goes...)) Rana watched from the dock as the ship came closer to port. She hoped there was someone on that ship who could use her help. That was all she really wanted, was to help. Every time she tried with anything but her magic, all she did was mess it up. So she needed someone to get her farther inland, where people got hurt more often, so she could be more useful.

arrow Aboard the Valen's Pride
As the crew furled the sails, Jack rose to his feet, glad that he didn't suffer from seasickness. Going below, he gathered his things, feeling a slight lurch as the anchor stopped the ship. Back on deck, he waited as the ship was tied to the dock and the gangplank was placed, then went down, waiting again for the horses to be brought over.
Having returned the winds to normal as the ship approached the docks, Cilia released her concentration. Standing, she too headed down to her cabin to collect her possessions, passing Jack as he came back up. That done, she went down to the dock, waiting on her horse.
Minutes later, the Knights had also disembarked, and were waiting on their horses.

((She's talking to Jack)) Rana's newest attempted job was as a baggage carrier. "Can I help you with that?" she asked a man. He may not have looked particularly friendly, but at least he didn't seem imposing like the Knights. Maybe if she tripped and dropped something, he would be willing to forgive her.
