We all have performed at sometime, so i wanna here some of your stories. Anyways heres mine......

Our band, which we decided to name "weapons of class disruption" temporarly untill we thought of a better one, made the auditions for our school talent show. Not only did we make the audition but we got to close the show.
So, 80 percent of the band was setting up when the one of the authorites in charge tells us they're not gonna announce us, they're just gonna open the curtain and we'll start playing. But I'm like wait, where's alex?? (other guitarist in band) She said "oh he's starting from the back of the auditorium." I'm like "ok he didn't tell us he was doing that." being kids, we don't all have money to afford wireless adaptors, but alex had just recently gotten one for christmas. so they open the curtains on us and alex starts playing his preamble to the song which consists of some pretty sweet tapping material. Well, the audience just stared at us in auw like, what the hell are they doing. Since i was smart enough to catch the drift that nobody new where alex was i pointed to him. As alex finished his preamble and made his way up to the stage, he threw his pick into the croud and they went nuts.
So from there we started the song we named "running from yourself." now i must say, i nailed my solo when i got to it but that's besides the point. Directly after my solo was another solo for alex, which we accompanied him on. Right as he started it HE JUMPED OFF THE FREAKIN STAGE. The croud went nuts it was insane. As he played his solo he was running back and forth across the front off the auditorium. It was the coolest thing any of us had done in our entire lives.

Hell yeah man!

Ok, here we go:

My bands first gig was at a school talent show. We decided for the show, since we only had one song we could do, that we would do Black Sabbath's "Ironman". Well, we was performing in Western Hills High School. If you don't know this school (chances are you wont) it's predominately Rap music. Well, that didn't stop us. We just wanted to play, ya know? Anyways, My band's name was (and still is) Vicar Of Christ, or V.O.C for short. Well, it came our turn to do our thing. We got onstage, thinking we'd get Booed off. The drummer came in with the bass kicks and everyone started nodding their head to it. Then I came in with the open E bent behind the nut and they went crazy! Then the power chords hit and they was just groovin with it! It calmed down throughout the song for a while. Then came the solo... I started on it and they was Flippin out! I heard screams, Whistles, chants, everything! Now, mind you, EVERY SINGLE PERSON in this audience listened to rap. Well, we kept going and finished the song. I was amazed at this point (because it was back when the band was only together for like 4 months). Well, my amazement grew even more when I walking off the stage. I heard from behind me "VOC, VOC, VOC, VOC..." THEY WAS ******** CHANTING OUR NAME!!!!!! We walked out and sat in the audience at the talent section, and people would not stop going on about us! It was beautiful man!

We lost though because the judges were Student Councel and, as you can guess, they voted for their friends. We was beat by this dance group called "The Hottest of the Hot" (and one of the girls fell in the middle of the show!)... anyways, when it was mentioned that we didn't win, we had everyone in the audience telling us we should have won it! We had students, parents, teachers... they were all telling us we was on a Professional level and we should have won. GET THIS!!!! THE WINNERS CAME UP AND TOLD US WE SHOULD HAVE WON!!!!! Now that's when you know you did good. The damn winners was telling us we deserved it more than them!

Dude thats sweet, the iron man solo is friggin hard!!!! Our talent show was gay because are stupid new dean of students deamed it "unfair to judge the show and pick a winner." I'm like wtf, it's ok to tell 100 kids they're not good enough to even perform but you can't pick a winner?? If they did pick a winner we would have won it, however the crowd wasn't chanting our names. WHY?? because they never announced our name because they "were short on time." So instead everyone was chanting ALEX!! ALEX! ALEX! If we wern't short on time were supposed to be aloud to play a 2nd maybe even 3rd song. But no, The stupid authorities picked way to many talentless acts, which made me mad!!!

Yeah... I ******** loved it man!!!! God that was a great night! But yeah, I couldn't believe We had rap-loving people chanting our names like we were GODS!!!!

i jsut found out we have another "gig" coming up. i use the "'s because its very small, but hell, i'll still have fun anyways. Amongst our covers are black sabbath (the song), and paranoid. Other than that we'll be doing all originals. We'll be lucky if 50 ppl show up. It's sorta a self hosted gig. I have a half pipe in my backyard (yes i skateboard) and apparently my dad said he's hosting a party, consisting of his friends, my friends, and the rest of the bands friends. We all get to play in the middle of the half pipe. It may be small but this will be sweet.!!

Good, don't. That was an outtake thing that BLOWS SO MUCH a**! I didn't even put it on there, I dont know who did but I forgot to take it off. That was recorded through one Microphone in the center of the room picking up all the noise. The microphone was hooked into a BOOMBOX recording the s**t! It was the shittiest recording set-up EVER!

The song Black Sabbath I think is a little more complex than Electric funeral, but that's my opinion I guess.

well the solo for black sabbath sure as hell is fun. Do you need a wa pedal for electric funeral??

as far as recording goes for us, we just hook everyone up to the same monitor, somewhere in there we're wired through a compressor, and basically do the same thing as you guys, it's not quite a boombox but it's really ghetto recording equipment.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 06, 2006 6:49 pm

To play Electric Funeral like Sabbath does, you need a Wah pedal, But I dont use one. It gives it our own little spin when I only use a distortion pedal with it and I pitch Harmonic select notes... It sounds really Good actually.

Concert? Let's see- both of them were nightmares...

There was the one where my brother and I had to do these piano duets. I tripped over my dress (I don't usually wear them, mind you) on stage and completely ruined the pieces. My teacher was furious and gave me a bitchfest after that.

The other one was when I had to play violin for the final school concert, I sat first chair and I screwed up all of the pieces. I only got lucky because no one heard my thousands of mistakes.

I wonder what will happen once my cousins and friends stop arguing over me for their bands and who I should join....
