Last night was the Senior Formal at mine and Burger's University. We went with all of my housemates and thought we were going to have a great time. To sum it up:
~ the line for the bar cut the dance floor in half
~ the dinner they served was really not good at all
~ Burger and I danced for only about a half hour at most
~ Since we left the party early, I had to go right to Burger's house because our house was locked and I had forgetten my keys
~ I had nothing to sleep in since I hadn't thought to pack a bag, so I borrowed one of Burger's shirts
I should find a sweatshirt or somethign to wear to get myself back to my house...
but have any of your ever had a formal event turn out so sucky as ours was last night?

Yes. I went to homecoming with a guy who was older than I was because he was older than I was. He was quite dull, he gave me a gardenia corsage that began to smell increasingly intense until I was nauseous at the end of the dance, he didn't want to dance, so we sat around uncomfortably, all dressed up, pretty much waiting for the whole miserable thing to be over. At least you were with somebody you like!

wow that really sucks Fresnel. I for one did have a pretty good time, even if the food was bad and the music was bad and the caterers were rude. You're right, at least I was with Blossom!

No. That's the funny thing about it. Neither of us are graduating, but because Blossom is technically a senior they let us go.
Oh, by the way, never swing dance on a tightly packed dance floor. You're bound to get backhanded in the face by a guy holding a camera.

Well, maybe next year you can take a pass on the senior dance, since you've already done that, and go someplace nice instead.

Ooh Fresnel, that's a good idea! ^_^ We can try to plan our own little getaway of sorts with our other friends, unless they want to just get rooms at the place where the dance is... we'll figure something out, i'm sure.

Since you have plenty of time to plan, I'd go for something unusual, unique, and memorable. Like a fortune-telling party, or maybe one of those interactive play performances where the audience participates ... only you and your friends would be the entire audience!

hmm that sounds like a good idea. Some of our friends won't be seniors next year so they'd be left out of the formal anyway.
