This slip of paper entitles me to terrorize the streets of the Commonwealth of Virginia without anyone supervising.
Woohoo.

I thought those yellow slips of paper were hall passes?

Our expired parking meter ticket was yellow. But then again, it was a 3 fold brochure in a whole.

I am so scared of young drivers. Because I know how we think.

Heh. Young drivers are typically among the slowest, most cautious drivers out there. Believe me, I live just past a high school (the only road that leads anywhere goes right past the front drive), and at 7:30 and 3:00, the road is choked by kids trying to not get into an accident just getting out of the parking lot, one teen going in the space where three mature (riskier) drivers would have gone, others so indecisive that when they finally DO go, they nearly take the paint off my front bumper....good times.
mrgreen Well congrats, and good luck driving! (Just don't wreck anything. Insurance is a biatch to deal with.)

Don't worry, I'll make sure he doesn't cause any trouble...~puts a baby seat where the driver's seat used to be, and disconnects the engine~

(Just don't wreck anything. Insurance is a biatch to deal with.) Ladies and gentlemen, we have found BIZZARO WORLD. Cops used to set up speed traps around my high school at 2:15 every day. I've seen kids do 30 through the parking lot and not stop when turning onto the road. I've done that, too. I only know 1 cautious teenage driver, and he totaled his dads car when stopped.

Your school got out at 2:15?! I guess you start early, then.
I try to drive safely, unlike many of my friends. They think I'm full of s**t when I say that racing home from the grocery store isn't safe driving.
However, I'd much rather keep my head.
Yes, thank you all. My little yellow slip of paper seems to overemphasize the fact that it's not permament. "90-Day Temporary Provisional Driver's Lisense." Don't temporary and provisional mean the same thing?

I think Provisional means provided...or legally provided...so, you're temporarily provided a driver's lisence...I think...~burns the permit~

Provisional depends on some factor or another and temporary is just that.

Driving is one of those things that we depend on too much. It would be nice if I could get everywhere I want to go without driving, but that's not about to happen.

GoldenRoya, that's... much different than my area as well. I get passed going home from school going 65 (in a 55 zone) on a very regular basis.
Luckily enough I haven't seen a cop once since I've been driving to/from school since I got my license. Well, except from that cop that lives on this one road and he works night shifts or something because his car is always parked outside his house.
Yeah, do be careful driving though. Last school year a guy just about everyone in the school knew, because he was such a nice guy, overcompensated a turn and had his car wrap around a tree and died on the impact.
I do agree that we depend on driving too much, and I wish I didn't have to so I wouldn't have to worry about these horrible gas prices... but I live nowhere near anything. -_-;
