My friend gave me this poem on My Space about Asian Pride. Enjoy!! It goes to my best friend Nicolle. I just wanted to share it with you.

Asian pride is in my mind,
Asian blood is in my kind,
So step aside and let me through,
Cuz it's all about the Asian crew.

Asian love is all around,
For my fellow Asians
Never let me down,
Show your pride and say it true,

Cuz Asian blood flows through you...
Asian pride for eternity
We are Asian, we are proud
In one voice, we shout out loud

Our voices in da wind will neva have died
When we yell out Asian pride.
Ever since the start
Us Asians have fallen apart

But this day in age
Is when we display
Our Asian Pride
It brings us together

Making us rise forever and ever
And you can't stop what we've done
Cause face it,
We've already won

We know how to do things right
We know how to put up a good fight
It's our Asian Pride
That helps the Asian side

Each year has passed
Now it's time for you to see the Asians last
Cause we've got pride
And Asians are on the rise

So don't even try
Cuz we'll make you cry
Bend down and beg for the mercy you need
Bow down to the ones you should obey indeed

We've done a great job
Taking over this city
If you ain't Asian
You've got my pity

Cause I feel sorry for you
For not being Asian true
It's your own fault for being like this
Asians are the ones who are truly blessed

The Asians have already conquered this town
When you talk to us
Better bow down
Cause you can't come up to us

Showing your own pride
Cuz you know it's all about
The Asian Pride
Aiite?

My God eek

It started off great then it just got too boastful and eccentric. No, for the simple fact that the poem is saying that 'I pity you if you're not asian' I dislike it. It shouts out we have pride but I fail to see what you have pride in. Is it simply being Asian, because I'm sure theres more to having pride than having a hint of brown in your skin.

Being a proud black woman, who delights in her culture I feel as if you or your friend has made a horrible attempt at wanting to show love for who you are and what you have to offer. Better luck next time I say.

Oh my...

I only clicked on this because I'm still traumatized by seeing a Japanese pop star in cornrows.... Um... I certainly hope that the average Asian has more solid things to be proud about than this... otherwise I woudln't wonder at the cornrows... sweatdrop

Also... it seemed kind of silly to end a poem about ASIAN pride in 'aiite'...

I love asians, but... this sounds like kind of a disservice to them. It makes them sound bad. Seriously...

But I wish there was a lot more asian pride out there... it's really sad seeing the asian cultures trying to look american, as if they think we're better somehow. They should be more proud of who they are than that. It always makes me cringe when I see people giving up their culture for someone elses. We're all equal on earth, no matter how wealthy or poor our country is. In Japan English is SO GREAT... what's wrong with their own language? ... >sigh< ... yeah... asian pride would be nice...

But that's kinda off topic, ne? xd Love yourselves people, and where you came from. Don't sell your culture out for another culture. That's just sad.

It started out great, but you lost me when you started spelling things wrong. It's wonderful that we have Asian pride, but in the end it seemed egotistical and somewhat racist.

I wish there was more Asian pride too. Well it's no problem in our school. What do you mean by asian cultures trying to look american? I don't quite get what you mean. Are you saying that Asian people leave their cultures such us their dining habits and conform into the American way? What's wrong with being diverse? Just because some people aren't showing so much pride, doesn't mean they don't have it at all.

There's nothing wrong with Japanese. They probably think English is great because it is so common. One can go anywhere in the world and most people will probably speak English.

wow. this is more of a rant than a poem. I love asians and their culture. (I hope to marry one) but this is kinda like the bigitry other countries hate amerca for.
