Welcome to suburbia.
It's a sunny, nice little place full of young families. Glensdale, in particular, has been growing dramatically over the years. Newlyweds storm the community to settle their families.
Glensdale has a small-town feel, and neighbors are actually very close. A little too close. On the outside, what seems like a perfect family unit, is actually an epicenter for deception and drama. Under smiles, the citizens hide their passions and secrets.
Family life has never been more interesting.

'When are you gonna go socialise, darling?'
Raven shifted uncomfortably and closed the book he was reading.
'I do socialise.'
'Yeah, at school and in the most awkward places. But what about your own neighbourhood?'
'What about it?' Raven asked. He was getting curious.
'Well...I randomly saw our neighbours, when I came from the market, a couple of days ago' Iris carefully started, knowing that Raven would easily get upset if he didn't like what he heard. 'And I think they're nice people.'
'So?'
'Well, you're always inside, you never go....talk to people!'
'I'm also quite busy. While not talking to people.'
'That's not an excuse! Now. You will go out. And greet our neighbours. It's not their fault we just moved in and that my husband is a loner.'
'I'm not a loner! I have TUNS of friends!!!!' Raven protested, his cheeks red.
'And where are they now?' Iris raised an eyebrow.
'...'
'Okay then, it's settled. You'll go out this afternoon. Since it's Sunday, you'll most likely find people at home.'
'Whaaaaaaaat?!'
'Did you say something?' Iris sharply asked.
'Nope, nothing' Raven quickly said, and lifted the book to cover his eyes. Goddammit! WHo does she think she is, my mother?!

Robert was dusting the house. Julie was almost always gone nowadays and he was always cleaning because of that. I feel like a maid! He frowned and continued to dust because Max had terrible allergies.
"WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!" Josh flew by, running after Max.
"WAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!" Max replied and nearly crashed into something - again.

In the middle of the afternoon, Raven was kicked out of his own house, together with the book his was reading.
'Holy s**t....she really wants me to go talk to the....people' he muttered, and leaned against the wall. 'I'll start with the easiet place to reach: the house across the street' he said to himself, and sighed.
He crossed the street, almost getting hit by a car, and walked up to the front door. He took in a deep breath and knocked on the door. He heard kids' laughter on the other side, and smiled. A happy house it is...

"HEY! NO RUNNING WITH SCISSORS!"
"This isn't scissors...." Max beamed and he held up a sharp pair of scissors.
"Gimme that!" Robert took the object and went to the door, because he heard a knock. It's probably Julie... Robert answered the door and stared at the stranger. "OH....Hello there."
He stuck the pair of scissors into his rugged jeans pocket and took off the banadana he had on his head.

Raven froze for a second, then smiled. He's...
'Well...sorry if I'm interrupting anything, but I was just kicked out because I don't socialise enough with my neighbours' he started to say, then stopped, and chuckled. '...and here I am, talking to a complete stranger. I'm Raven. And I live right across the street.'

"Hey. Nice to meet you," Robert extended his hand and grabbed Raven's in a firm, strong handshake. He released the hand and gave a small laugh. "Raven....That's an interesting name. I'm Robert. Robert Mason. Why don't you come in for a while?"
He stepped aside and let the door open wide so the other man could step in. Josh and Max were standing there, staring at Raven as their father moved aside. "Ahaha....It's not polite to stare... BOYS!"
"Kay...." The smallest looked away, but contined to sneak glances. The older was becoming bored and was waiting for a chance to push his brother around again.
"Well, come on in," Robert said again to Raven.

Raven smiled.
'Cute kids' he said, and laughed.
He looked down at them, and looked for something in his pocket.
'Here' he muttered, and handed them the yoyo he had in the pocket. 'You can have it. Just don't fight over it, okay?' he said, his smile widening, then looked at Robert. 'If I had known you had kids, I would've....bought something.'

"Whoaaaa! What is it?!" The boys peered over the yoyo. They squealed with a thanks and ran off to unveil the mysteries of the new toy.
Robert wore a thankful grin. "Thanks. I'm sure they'll love what you've already given them."
He walked Raven over to his kitchen/bar. He was accostmed to serving people at his cafe, so naturally, the first thing he did was offer Raven something to drink. "Are you thirsty? Would you like a drink?"

"Thanks..." Robert was already getting cups and boiling water. He knew their house was nice, and he had purposefully moved into a modest neighborhood, even though Julie and he could afford much more. He turned and smiled at his guest. "So. You live across the street? How long have you been living here? I haven't seen you around..."

Yeeessssss....small talk it is
'Well, we just moved in, and the last two weeks have been a mess. And we only got some time out these past few days. The whole area is incredibly nice, and one of my wife's aunts lives here, so she wanted to live here, too. I just can't fight against her.'

"Oh..." Robert crossed his arms over his chest and smiled. He knew exactly what he meant. He hated to admit it, even to himself, but Robert was a slave to his wife. His gaze drifted off as he heard the laughter of his boys in the next room. He hoped they were ok by themselves for now. He cleared a few things off the counter as he continued chatting with Raven. "So...Do you have any children?"
He expected that the answer was no. Raven seemed so young, as if he was only barely out of high school.

Raven laughed.
'No, not yet. But Iris is two months pregnant, and God knows I won't be able to handle a kid. And school is hard enough already. I can't even find things to distract me from work' he replied.
