As I sit here thinking back to the time EmoKats started (Gothic Violet and I live together...), I never thought I would be an owner of one (Granted, I know no one OWNS an EmoKat...). I thought long and hard for a name and Color scheme that would fit me...and here it is:
Isn't he cute (at least I hope he's a he...)? I know it'll be a week (06/03/06) before he hatches, but I kinnae wait!

A Stranger apeared at my front door, she looked slightly frightened. As I opened the door she shoved an egg into my hands, mumbled something and ran off into the night. Bundled in with the egg was this card:
I knew nothing about this and I went about my normal routine as a herbalist. I tended my garden with the egg in tow, I knew that I shouldn't leave a baby unattended for any length of time.

Over a week after the Strange Woman left me in care of an egg, it hatched. Strangely enough though, after the egg hatched, producing a rather adorable Being, the card changed as well:
When I said this child's name, he looked at me and smiled. But new questions surface:
WHO was that Woman?
WHO was after her?
Was Belezet truly destined for me?
WHY was I chosen to take care of Belezet?
I guess I'll never know. After Belezet hatched, he started mumbling and making things like food appear out of thin air! He knows Magick! I had left the Arcane behind so long ago due to my last Apprentice wishing to become a Necromancer...I was truly sad that day. Maybe I will teach what I know to Belezet, that is...when he's able to speak aloud the words that I knew in my heart.

Belezet was quite content with his surroundings until we went into town, I had to deliver a Poultice to Nurse Miko for her ankle. On the way back from delivering the Poultice, I met someone else with a EmoKat, Miko was her name. Her EmoKat's name is Zetsumei...a rather likable little fellow. Belezet knew when Zetsumei was hungry and conjured a bottle for the little guy, which made him a liked sort from the start.

Belezet's new friend seems to genuinely like him...which is good since I don't want to be everything to Belezet, just his teacher and his Father is grand by me. Somehow, Belezet mastered the Spell to fly...I know I didn't teach it to him. Maybe he's naturally gifted in the Arcane, I'll have to check soon...

Belezet woke me up with a light show...just because he was scared about the shadows outside. I had gone in the attic before bed last night and retrieved my Arcane impedimentia, now it's being put into use. I handed Belezet the one tool of mine called the Seer's Torch (it's like the Hand of Glory but it has a Radius instead of just the user. I don't think any of my neighbors would approve of blinding light at 4 a.m....), and we scouted the back yard, the Garden, the Deck, the shed, and My workshop...nothing. I plucked some Hephodel, Asphodel, and some Myrid. I had to re supply after the Poultice I made for Nurse Miko, and Myrid is good for calming nerves in VERY small doses. Belezet liked the tiny piece I gave him and he was relaxed and asleep within the span of two minutes.
But I wonder, what made him wake up first and foremost? I had fetched out some of the other tools I had and started to track for useage of Arcane, but nothing showed. Did Belezet have a nightmare? He usually Sleeps so peacefully. I must look into my books for the answer...

After looking into all the my Arcane Tomes that had things about nightmares, it turned into a fruitless search. Not one book said anything about the Dreams of EmoKats. I must talk to the Bookseller in town...see if they have any Books on the Arcane that have to deal with EmoKats.
Addenduum:
I got the book this afternoon from Beryl's & Nocturns...How they had a book on the Arcane is beyond me. I looked into the Book and found something beyond my wildest dreams...EmoKats have the direct desire to intergrate themselves with all forms and spheres of Magicks and the Arcane! So why was Belezet dropped off at my house? The book went into detail about one that will be the embodiment of Magick itself...I wonder...

Last Night's sudden outburst of speech still has me floored. It wasn't the Fact that I was called Kodah - I missed hearing it, what had caused it was out of love. Or so the book on the Arcane & EmoKats says. As I look at Belezet I find that his smile has meaning and for once - Odd Occurances or not - I will not let this young one down!
I still remember Khur-ahm's insistance to learn Necromancy...despite my warnings and pleas. I sense great things to come from Belezet...and I will guide him every step of the way!

I tended my Garden alone today, trying to put the events of my last apprentice away for good. I still remember the sly look I got from Khur-ahm when he tried to get his way on whatever he wanted. Now I am a father to Pure Magick, I know that Belezet will do what is right and just in life. But my thoughts go back to Khur-ahm's last wish...to learn Necromancy.
I guess that's why I went into being an Herbalist...to aid the living. Belezet knows that I abhor revival of the Once-Living...his attempt to re-animate a Brahkin shootling after he fell on it by accident made me aware of the scope his talent with the Arcane truly reaches. I talked to hime at great length about the fact that once something dies it can never be alive again. I didn't scold him for falling on the Shootling - it was an accident, it can happen to anyone. I didn't scold him for trying to revive a plant that died...he was trying to be helpful. I taught him about why Necromancy is bad and he now knows never to disturb the rest of the departed.
Life is funny like that sometimes; one man sees The Arcane to pervert nature while another man sees The Arcane to protect it. Maybe one day I will look into where my old apprentice has gone to...then again, Maybe I Won't. One thing is for certain, Belezet must be known of Khur-ahm's folly...one way or another.

I had Miss Miko & Zetsumei over today to aid in tending to the Garden. I made some food that while Miss Miko and I enjoyed very much, Zetsumei disliked and Belezet forced himself to eat. I caught Zetsumei sneaking to the Myrid patch, I guess the smell of it drew him there...he almost ate a piece big enough to put a Balrog in a coma! I know that Myrid has a sweet scent to it while it matures...but the older the plant gets, Fruit forms and I don't want to have Myrid Zonna (or Forever-Sleep-Fruit) in the hands of the Younglings...there's no telling what it'll do to Young EmoKats!
Zetsumei must've sensed my cautionary thoughts about him being near the Myrid Patch...because when he saw me running his way he went after some Mygara - a very rare crossbreed of Mint and Chicory. I had to move the Myrid to the GreenHouse...for safety reasons. I don't want Belezet & Miss Miko mad at me for Zetsumei's curiousity.
Miss Miko wondered why I took up Herbalism and I gathered the small group to tell them about my previous Apprentice...Khur-ahm. I made dinner that everyone liked, but I sensed that Zetsumei wanted a taste of Myrid...until he found out that it's what most Herbalists use as a Sleeping Aid.
After the new shootlings were planted and everyone was fed, Belezet conjured a tub with soapy water and He and Zetsumei took a bath...splashing and giggling the whole time. Miss Miko took Zetsumei home so she could shower and I went to bathe myself in my bathroom. Both Belezet and I had a great time today, I just hope that Miss Miko enjoys having us as neighbors. Lord knows I need friends like her and some of the other people here to help me get past the transgressions against Nature...

I met with Miss Miko in the park near the house, she seemed distracted by something. I may not be a mind-reader like her Zetsumei, but I have an inkling what it pertains to him. Belezet tried to take a while getting ready to go out, and he insisted that I bring some of my new books out with me. One title that shocked me that he offered for me to bring was "Knowing the Behaviorial Patterns of EmoKats" by Dr. D. E. Brutsid, PhD.
It was weird talking to Miss Miko though, her mind wandered...when she did talk to me she blushed. Maybe it's because I'm 295 years old, but I look like I did when I was 20. The Arcane has kept my body young but I tire very easily...and that trip to the park might've done something to me. What it is, I don't know...

Belezet and I had a talk about many things; his garden, his diaries, he studying...he worried about me though and performed a mending spell on me. Which got me thinking of the old days with Making Charms for people and seeing them light up at the baubles. I saw many a man or woman pick up a charm or Totem that I made and they bought it...
Belezet later that evening walked into my workshop and startled me. He was curious as to the "Pretty things" he saw on my work table. What was I to say?

I sent off a Charm of Good Dreams to Miss Deb since she's a bigwig here in Emotica...I hope she takes a liking to them.
Addendum
Belezet was acting funny today after he looked at the calendar. Maybe he's planning something for Father's Day...I would hope that it isn't beyond his abilities in doing so.

I was awoken by the scent of French Toast and Cava (Coffee with Chamdrah powder...tastes better than cream and sugar!). The tray was sitting on my bed next to me with a note written in an improving scrawl:
"Reeng Bel 4 Survice"
I thought it to be rather cute but I rang the little bell on the tray and Belezet got from under my bed! He levitated the tray to the right position, made sure that the Cava was the way I liked it, and opened the blinds to my room that overlooked the Garden. I was treated to a fine breakfast feast, and after I had my fill of the sumptiousness that had greeted me when I woke up Belezet hadcleaned the house from top to bottom and had made this day to be one that I can relax.
Lunch was just as good as breakfast, and I hadn't gotten to the Greenhouse yet to tend to the Shootlings. That was the furthest thing from my mind since I was having fun this Day for Fathers. Belezet told me that I should look into the Greenhouse since he didn't know what the shootlings looked like. What I found there was one of Yoko's other Charges...Bara, I think tending to EVERY plant in the greenhouse.
That night I had the best dinner I've had in 250 years...Roasted Kani with a Lagdah sauce (the closest I've come to that was Duck L'Orange). Done to perfection...as I was readying myself for desert, Belezet came out with a cake perched carefully on top of presents and a card was in front of the entire thing!
"To a great Father KoDah, love you always...Belezet"
I got things I needed in those gifts...Books and a new bookshelf (any furniture given by someone who knows the Arcane is rather humorous...it's been miniturized for packing), some ingridents for Charm Making and a book to go with it, a new trowel, and the best gift I got wasn't wrapped...I got a hug.
I may not know everything there is to know about EmoKats...but I know when I've been appreciated and am being loved. No matter what else is given to me, Belezet is my greatest treasure!

Things have gone back to normal here in the house...well as normal as normal can be. Belezet expressed his desire to learn to swim this morning over breakfast, I don't need to tell you how shocked I was when I heard that. I tried teaching him in the bathtub...something I will remember to the end of days!
It started out as him thinking it was bath time, conjuring toys and taking off the swimming trunks I had him put on. He never understood what I was trying to do with him...oh well.

What I feared would happen has happened...Khur-ahm found me and used his Bikka against me (for those of you that don't know what that is, it's an enchantment that draws the conscience within the body and the person this Enchantment is on looked as if they were in a daydream.).
Khur-ahm sat next to me inside my head and told me that he wishes to have HIS Kodah back. He was no longer my Kaddash (Apprentice and son - the polar opposite of Kodah)...and he knew it to be true when I saw Zetsumei look at me in fear. I was right in assuming that Zetsumei could stealthily enter someone's mind and know what they thought and felt...and he was doing it from the Enchanted Pool that I made for Belezet and him.
I would've been lost if Zetsumei didn't bridge Belezet into my head...a bold move for someone with telepathy as a skill. Belezet Charmed the Necromancea Shaddus (a Dark trick that is used in junction with Bikka) and Protected my mind from an attack like that. How would Belezet know Holy Arcane? He was nowhere near ready for the spells and enchantments...and Zetsumei added to this confusion. He looks skittish normally, but now with a new fire in his eyes...he looks into the Light of Arcanum with Belezet...Maybe Zetsumei has some things I need to look into. I wonder if I can seek them out if Miss Miko would consent...

The encounter with Khur-ahm has left me woefully under the weather, I haven't left my bed for two days and worse still I have yet to get anything out of the food Belezet makes me. Belezet loves me (he tells me so every half hour), and yet he knows that I am weak. I had Belezet get two books for me from the attic that might aid me in this time of trouble.
When I got the Books from Belezet, I started to feel a little better. I was worried that the old text would confuse him, but my Kaddash astounded me by getting what I wanted without a map or translator spell.
I now know that Khur-ahm planted a seed inside me...and to get it out I need to have Belezet beat Khur-ahm in a Droh-Khali (Arcane Duel)...
Addendum
I can't find Belezet anywhere...and worse still he is not with Zetsumei. Had he gone off to take on the Necromancer? Belezet is but a baby...I fear for his safety...

I have looked everywhere in this town for the last three days...and Belezet isn't anywhere in Emotica. I went to ask Zetsumei if he could find his friend...but Miss Miko and Zetsumei are out of town...from what the note said on the door, they're at Bleashmin Point - at a fair. I'm getting worried about Belezet...I hope he's safe.
