Nibelheim (ニブルヘイム, Niburuheimu?): Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart's hometown. The Shinra Mansion located here was the research site for Jenova Project, and, although since abandoned, still contains much of Professor Gast and Hojo's research. Its basement, accessible by a secret passageway, contains the laboratory and research library. Presumably after Gast left the Jenova Project, it was used by Hojo to conduct many of his immoral experiments. Vincent Valentine is also discovered here by the party, slumbering in a coffin hidden in a locked room within the basement. The town was burned down and its residents slaughtered by Sephiroth after he discovered his origins and went insane, although the Shinra Mansion was spared by the fire. The destroyed town was subsequently rebuilt and staffed by Shin-Ra to cover up the incident.

It was hours before the dueo finally reached Tifa's hometown. Even though it looked the same, many people didn't realize the fire that had destroyed it so many years ago. Her Ruby brown eye's looked around at everything, as the memories of her as well as Cloud in their childhood flooded back to her.
Sigh
The memories were fond, yet hurtful at the same time...
Just don't think about it. Your here for a reason. Remember that.
Tifa nodded to herself as she pointed out a small store.
"I should be able to find some decent clothes in there."
She said.

Once they had reached the town, Yuna had slowed down to a nice and easy speed she looked around at all the bulidings, from what she remembered in a few files she was reading back at the HQ, there was something she read about this place. But what happend had escaped her mind. The girl nodded to Tifa and slowed down to a stop in front of the store and put the bike's kick stand down.
"I'll wait out here." Was all that she said. Yuna looked up to Tifa like a sister and knew if she wanted privacy or some space. Most of the time it's how even herself felt at moments in her life.

Tifa nodded and darted inside, quickly grabbing things from the hangers and running into the back room. Removing her dress she pulled on a pair of denim shorts, slipping a belt through the loops to help secure them. Then she quickly pulled on a tight black shirt that had cropped sleeves.
Shoving her Cell phone and ID in the pocket of the shorts she made her way to the counter.
"Do you sell weapons here? I just need a pair of gloves."
The clerk nodded as she pulled out a pair of fighting gloves, proceeding to give her a total. Tifa smiled as she threw some cash on the counter and darted back out.
"Alright just follow the road north and we should be good to go."
She chimed as she hopped on the back of the bike.

"That was fast!" Yuna flashed a smile.
"Okay just keep following it then!" She put up the kick stand and took off again this time speeding, she wanted to know what was up with Tifa and she also wanted to help her through this.
Then she began to wonder. What in the world is down this road? Something important? It must be to cause Tifa such a fluster to suddenly come here.

As they proceeded down the road the bridge caught Tifa's eye. It must have been restored over the years, after all she had been gone sometime.
"Stop here Yunie."
She said as she gently pulled on her gloves.
Something is in that cave down there...what is it..why did it comeback to me..especially now.

Valame pulled up outside Nibelheim as she gently dismounted the bike making her way into a nearby weapons shop.
"Tell me...what I need to know and you won't be hurt..."
She muttered to the woman, who's eyes were wide with fear.
"I...I dont know what you mean..."
Valame drew her blade, 'Vindication', and placed it at the womans throat.
"Again...tell me what I need to know. There is a cave around here, sealed...where is it."

The girl did as she was told and stopped just close enough to the bridge and she shut the bike off slipping the key into her pocket. Getting off of the bike she scanned the area around the bridge for any signs of anyone or anything within a few yards.
There was nothing, just the silence around them. But something made Yuna feel slightly worried and troubled about where they were, like something was going to happen.

Tifa dismounted the bike and slowly made her way to the bridge. Grabbing ahold the rope she peered down, only to see mist below.
Dammit...
She muttered as she gently stepped upon the bridge. The only way down to where they needed to be was across this bridge, that was of course unless they wanted climb down the rock face. Tifa turned around to face Yuna.
"We need to get across here in order to get down."
She said turning back toward the bridge she began to ease her way across..it may have been repaired, rebuilt or even cemented to the ground, Tifa still didn't trust the bridge after what happened so many years ago.

A horrid scream emitted from the Weapons shop as Valame casually made her way from the doorway, flicking the blood from her blade onto the ground.
She mounted the bike and began to head north of Nibelheim.

"Across the bridge?" Yuna blinked and gulped. Something in her stomach turned a bit as she started to cross slowly behind the girl, holding onto the rope sides tightly, repeating to herself in her head, over and over again.
Don't look down, Don't look down, Don't look down.
She peered down slightly and her eye's grew wide. Great, she couldn't even seen the bottom of the damn thing.

Tifa encroached closer upon the middle of the bridge, with Yuna in close tail behind, and found herself coming to a halt in the middle.
"Yuna do you hear that..."
She asked as the slight sound of a crackling could be heard.
Crap
"Yuna Run!"
The Ropes of the bridge were begining to give way under their weight as they had crossed the bridge.

"Hear what?" She asked and paused stopping to listen to the air around them. At first there was silence and then a sort of twisting noise.
"What's that?"
Then is suddenly clicked in her mind once Tifa had yelled at her.
"s**t!" Was the first response from her as she gave Tifa a slight push to start running also.

Tifa began to sprint at the slight push from Yuna though it seemed useless as they were a mere quarter away from the other side when the rope on the left side snapped.
In a quick motion Tifa whirled around and grabbed the collar of Yuna's jacket as she grabbed the rope that was still attached. The bridge flooring slipped from beneath the two as they were left hanging in the air.
"Why...does...s**t like this always happen..."
She muttered as she attempted to pull Yuna's body toward the rope so she could grab on.

Yuna ran right behind Tifa and suddenly she felt the boards from underneath her feet slowly slip out from underneath her and she felt as she were going to fall and let out a shriek in horror but felt a tugging at her collar.
It was Tifa! Thank god....This was not time to thank god! She quickly reached up and grabbed onto the hanging bridges rope and hung on for dear life. "You...and me both.." She managed to choke out.

"We can discuss why the Cetra hate us later, but right now we need to get to land as fast as possible before this one gives."
She said in somewhat of a exasperated tone as she began to shimmy toward the ledge.

Valame pulled up beside Yuna's bike as her piercing grey eyes began to look around.
"Hmmm.."
She muttered.
"Looks like those troublesome Turks are here. I'll just have to get it before they do."
Quickly she dismounted the bike and made her way to the ledge. Reaching down into the sides of her boots she pulled out two rather sturdy looking daggers, it was then Tifa and Yuna caught her eye.
"Well hello there girls."
She shouted as she stepped toward the rope.
"Do you need this?"
She asked in somewhat of an evil giggle as she sliced the rope then making her way back to the spot she was before. Slamming one of the daggers into the ground she then proceeded to make her way down the side of the cliff using them as leverage.

Can this day get any better?
She wondered to herself as she held onto the rope tightly feeling it give way, swinging them toward the rock before them.
"Brace yourself!!!"

Valame....the girl's eyes flickered slightly when she saw the sight of her. But then she saw her cut the rope. What the hell? Wasn't Valame..good now? It couldn't be...maybe she had just used her all along.
As the rope snapped Yuna's eyes widened as she held onto the rope tightly clentching her eyes tightly waiting for it all to be done and over with.
