I just heard...the american version of azumanga....and I am gushing blood from my ears....
What are your thoughts?

yeah....Osaka's voice was terrible >_O
I couldn't stand most of the character's voices
I also don't like Americans using the Japanese -chan -kun etc.

Not going to get in to the dub vs sub arguement in here.
Personally the dub isn't that bad, in the actual boxset the ADV notes for each DVD explain some things or changes.
So cut them a break when trying to convert a Japanese anime and some of it's terms to something more comprehendible for American or other English listening viewers.
ADV happen to be one of the best dubbing companies in fact, it's just that like Osaka wasn't quite right but they admitted to adding a sort of Texan accent because it would be the Western equivalent of an Osakan accent.
I prefer dubs anyway.
I mean I can't even hear the difference between some characters.
Eg Zechs Merquise and Treize Khrushrenada sound very simillar if not the same.
In the dubs english voices give them unnique voices and some times suits them better then the Japanese ones.

I already explained the Texas accent part.
I mean there could've been much worse dubs and besides you have the option to watch the Japanese version.
So what are you complaining about?

I don't like the English dub...Osaka's voice started me, and I didn't like what they did to my favourite scene with Kagura at the airport.

Personally, I prefer the American voice acting. No, I don't think that English is better than Japanese, alright? I like Japanese better than English, actually. But that's not the point. I prefer the American voice acting because I originally watched the show in English. I'm not sure why that is, but that's the way it is (forgive me for sounding redundant). And anyways, the dub isn't that bad. It's way better than the Naruto dub.

I liked the Japanese voices alittle better then the English ones. Although, I didn't find the English to be as bad as most of you are saying, but just some of the parts just don't fit in English. Such as the times Miss Yukari is teaching to making great English speaches to show off here English teaching skills.

On my dvd, I switch it from Japanese to English, over an over again. Ayuma sounds horrible in English! What's with the crummy Texas accent?! I'm from Texas, I would know! XD

I saw the dub first so it doesn't bother me as much.
When I see sub first the dubs bother me.
I prefer the Japanese version too.
