Name: Musette
Age: 18
Height: 5'8" (5'5" when her feet are flat on the ground)
Weight: 140lbs without wings, about 163lbs with wings
Race: Harpy, or so most assume at first. She was actually born a shapeshifter.
Class: Wanderer
Alignment: Neutral
Element: Air
Appearance/Picture: Despite being a shapeshifter by birth, Musette has only one form. Her filthy, ragged brown hair is always a mess and ends, more or less, at mid back. Two finger-width braids, slightly grown out at the top, frame her face, which is made up of soft features save for her wide, boyish mouth. Her bangs, when not plastered to her head by the force of the wind, are just beginning to fall into her eyes; they are golden in color like those of an eagle and can be just as piercingly harsh. Fangs grow from where her canine teeth used to be and vast, golden brown wings sprout from her shoulders in the place of arms. Instead of feet, Musette has a pair of what kind of look like feet. That is, save for the fact that she walks on her toes, which are replaced by three black talons, and a single black talon grows out of each of her heels. Her skin is evenly tanned due to extended time in the sun, her body is well-toned overall, and lack of decent feeding recently has kept her relatively thin about the waist.
Being as she has no hands to work with, her clothing is designed so it need not be removed for any purpose. Across her chest she wears a simple, red top with yellow-gold, inch-wide straps and a lining along the bottom of the same color. Her skirt is essentially a loincloth. The lining along the top and bottom is the same yellow-gold that is on her chest and the loincloth itself is a deep orange color. What makes it a skirt, however, are the short pieces of cloth shielding her uppermost thighs from view. These red pieces are sewn to the orange cloth, thus creating a skirt.
Musette also has a bronze compass with a G engraved on it hanging upside-down above her left leg and two gold hoop earrings, one large, one small, in her right ear.
Weapon(s): The only weapons Musette has are her talons and her fangs. Though she doesn't do so often, she sometimes also uses her wings to crush or at least daze her opponent.
Ability's/Powers: Musette can, quite obviously, fly and see great distances because of her eagle eyes, but she also has a certain amount of control over the winds. She uses this power of hers, the only one left to her after her shapeshifting was taken from her, in order to fly quickly; faster than most creatures of the sky, in fact. However, Musette has also learned how to use her powers defensively and it isn't unusual for her to conjure up a fierce, if not small, windstorm to chase off any enemies.
Personality: Musette was once vibrant, bold, and not just a little bit crude. After being cursed and killing or losing everyone she ever knew and cared about, she dove into a deep depression and resigned herself to a life of solitude, living in a numb existence. Shortly after, however, she found it suddenly necessary to become bolder. As a result, she is now best described as spunky. Musette never lets on that she's been shaken and deals with the most dangerous situations or unpleasant conversations in a daring, if not clever, fashion. She may have returned a great deal to who she once was, but she always takes the time to think things through and makes an effort to choose the wiser path—not necessarily when she's in a little squabble, but at least she tries in the more important situations.
Bio/History: Musette was born in a small village of shapeshifters who rejected any non-shapeshifter. The only one to ever resist them was an old hermit sorcerer by the name of Ottocinkleus who lived just a few miles east of this village. The shapeshifters constantly tormented him and Musette was no different. It had become tradition for each child to gather their friends in their thirteenth year and go do as much damage to the sorcerer as possible. When Musette went, however, the sorcerer hit her with a curse that “relieved” her of her shapeshifting abilities—right in the middle of a transformation.
Because she could no longer change her shape, Musette was exiled from the village and expected herself to die, just as so many had before her. Obviously, she didn’t die and, upon finding her, the sorcerer took her in and improved her body so that her wings were large enough to allow her to fly, her feet were no longer misshapen, she had fangs with which to hunt, and she had the vision of an eagle.
Musette, however, still held a grudge against her former friends and family so Otto arranged for them both to slowly wipe out the entire village. Ironically, Otto became ill because of the rotting bodies of the villagers and died just before the onset of spring, when Musette was 17. Seeing this as a punishment for her crimes, Musette buried Otto in his garden and each of the villagers. She then left her former home and, not long after, came across a city run by the priests of a large temple where she quickly admitted her crimes and was allowed to become a priestess. Unfortunately, this was interrupted when pirates pillaged the city and took her captive for her powers. Over the expanse of nearly a year, she befriended the captain of the ship, Captain James Gutteridge, who gave her his compass the very last time she saw him, as a kraken was pulling his ship to the depths of the ocean. It was then that Musette began her solitary life as a wanderer.
