Voice Recordings?
Oh yes, voice recordings. Think of it as a podcast, but not updated regularly. Or more simply, somebody recording his voice and sending it across the Internet.
The voice recordings are made so that the whole guild can connect with each other. Members can make requests and even make their own voice recordings. Discussed topics will include guild threads, members, and any requested topics.
Voice recording format goes like this:
Introduction
Announcements
Discussion
Requests
Ending song The ending song is just a song I will play at the end of each voice recording. It will be random...based on my playlist. I'll try to mix in genres there, so everyone can get a taste of music they like.
Requests are encouraged! Please post here to ask for anything you would like to see in a voice recording. This includes, but is not limited to:
Asking questions
Requesting that I do a silly thing
Change the ending song to one of your choice
Request a shoutout or have a personal message displayed Voice recordings are made in .mp3 format at 64 kbps. For those of you who are computer savvy, you can request to have the VR in .ogg format. .ogg is an open-source media format that cuts down on filesize while maintaining quality. Make sure you have a media player that will play .ogg, like Winamp.
Making Voice Recordings
You need a microphone. You will also need a program that can record from your microphone. Here is a small list of recording programs available for free:
Sound Recorder is included with most versions of Microsoft Windows.
Audacity is a free audio editor and recorder. After you obtain the program, open it, turn on your microphone, and click the record button. As soon as you are finished recording, click stop. Export the recording in whatever format you choose (mp3, wav, ogg, etc.), upload, and share.
