-Nyx has been splattered with paint at least once. Huzzah for paintball and waterballoons filled with neon green paint.

Some more fun Cora facts:

-I created Cora for the brink. She's my first character. EFFER. This is my first time RPing actually. I came up with her overnight, she just sorta came to me, nice and easy. Her looks are modeled after a villian from Justice League. An evil clone of Supergirl.

-Cora ate her first apple unsupervised, and so ended up eating the WHOLE apple. Thank god, it wasn't a pineapple.

-Cora has never used the door to go home.

-The only time Cora has ever genuinly flirted was when she met the avatar of Malazar's security program. Leave it to Cora to get girly with a computer.

-Cora's right arm is not a real arm, it's a machine replacement. She's an android.

-Luke dressed Cora up as a Gangsta for halloween.

-Cora has never called Tavin by his name. The closest she came was calling him "Captain Tavin" when they first met.

-Tacitus was Cora's first real kiss.

-Cora accidentally kissed Luke, under the impression that you kiss people you love. No one ever explained to her that there are lots of kinds of love, and not all involve kissing.

-Cora went from only ever having had water, to a wine connisuer. Her favorite kind is chardonnay.

-Cora has gotten under the Seraphim's skin. She's also gotten her a** kicked by him.

Just a few little things about Tavy-kins:


@ Tavin almost always has his eyes closed in a squinting manner. He adopted this facial expression mainly to not scare away people, as he believes the look to make him seem more inviting and friendly.

@ I have used the character "Tavin" for 14 years now. He's been in just about every video game I have ever played that allowed you to name your character. He's been in numerous RPG campaigns, and apparently not all of them have involved me.

@ The original concept for Tavin's personality on Gaia was based off of a character from a Forgotten Realms book- A crotchety old Paladin of Tyr, who spoke of and to his patron deity as one would talk to a demanding and unhelpful roommate.

@ Tavin's first home on Gaia was a cardboard box behind a dumpster in an alley in the back streets of Barton Town. He certainly has moved up a little.

@ Tavin's name is one he adopted, his REAL name is "Mjolnir", which is the hammer of Thor. It was the name given to him by God in part to remind him that he was nothing more than a tool for defeating the enemies of Heaven.

@ Tavin, in his real form, looks more like what most people would consider a demon than an angel. Some day I hope to have a picture of him in his real form.

@ The Seraphim and Tavin used to work together constantly. They were friends, buddies, pals. They went to movies and hung out at bars together. Double dated... That kind of stuff.

@ Tavin is probly the most consistantly beaten person in The Brink. He's had the tar beat out of him so many times, I've lost count entirely.

@ Tavin wears bandages wrapped around his hands to hide the terrible burns covering them from when he healed his later wife, Robyn, from a horrible accident.

@ Tavin was turned down as a Bartender at the first place he worked, The Blue Lagoon.

@ Tavin's favorite color is purple

@ Tavin designed the layout of The Brink of Time himself. He helps maintain it through force of will alone. And he doesn't even get headaches!

Alright, I suppose I'll jump on the fun facts bandwagon, too.

Fun Facts About Maggie!

~

- Maggie is the second-oldest of eight children. She has one older brother, two younger, and four younger sisters.

- The second time she ever came into the Brink was the first time Tavin crashed in after having had the tar beaten out of him by the Seraphim. Maggie ended up sewing him back together with a mending kit Bard found in one of the guest rooms.

- Like Tavin, Maggie is a character I've used on and off for several years - 7 or 8, I think, though usually just as a minor, supporting character. She's had a few different incarnations in several different settings, fandoms, and time periods, including a modern-day one. (She was a nurse. Anybody shocked?)

- Maggie blushes more often than anybody else in the Brink. Maybe even more than everybody else combined. I ought to just paint her face red and save myself the trouble.

- When Tavin first tried to teach Maggie her Brink power, he did it by pretending to threaten her son. Suffice to say, she was pretty upset with him over it.

- Having been both the wife and daughter of farmers, Maggie knows how to do all kinds of handy farm-type things. How to milk a cow, for instance. Though it's been a while.

- In sixteenth century England, freckles were considered very unnatractive. Thus, Maggie's not thought to be particularly good-looking in her time. I think she's adorable, though.

- Maggie is very good at mental math, though she wouldn't think of it that way. Cooking in an inn, she often has to adjust recipes by adding/subracting/multiplying/dividing ingredients to accomodate varying numbers of people currently staying with them. Also, being previously illiterate, she's had to do all her budgeting in her head, too.

- Bard offered to teach Maggie to read the first time they ever met, but it took us close to a year to actually get around to her lessons. As most of you may have noticed, there's just no rushing us on anything.

- Maggie has a tendency to doze off in the Brink fairly often. She's a single mother, and she works almost all the time, so she never gets enough sleep at home.

- Cora tried on several occasions to get Maggie to talk about her feelings for Bard. Maggie persistently dodged her questions about it, even after she realized she was in love with him. She didn't want to say it out loud to anyone else until she'd worked up the nerve to tell Bard, herself.

Fen facts about Malazar, and myself.

-While playing the Brink's drinking game, Malazar purposefully rhymes and swears.

-I have over... 150 characters. >< Literally, probably more.

-That being said, Malazar is actually one of my oldest characters.

-Even so, the Brink is the first time he has ever seen RPing.

-Malazar has been married twice.

-Even though I play a bunch of villains, Malazar is the only character who has ever actively tried to kill Tacitus.

-Speaking of Villains... The real Jans Viper is a Wanted man. In fact, he's THE MOST wanted man in Gaia. (GPD speaking) And thank you, I attained that rank when the GPD was run by Bolt and staffed by Competent RPers.

-Tacitus and I have know each other since 4th grade IRL.

-Malazar has been attacked by Pokemon.

-No one has ever asked why Malazar was "cursed" to be young. On an assignment one day, 86 year old Malazar was ambushed by a Witch's Covenent consisting of 40+ members. He would have beaten them as an 86 year old, so they stripped 50 years off his physical mentality and beat him by "seducing" his 36 year old self. All of them.

-Malazar is the only person to ever fade in in the middle of a cannonball.

-Malazar has faded in without his hands.

-Malazar has, and will continue to, fade into the Brink to take catnaps when his life is out of control.

-Going to the Brink has broken Malazar of the drinking and smoking habits. He now drinks fruit juice.

-There is very little fruit on Malazar's world.

-Malazar has on occassion faded in wearing the mask of a Wolf.

-Malazar carries an old book on him which he constantly writes in, the title was thought up by his first wife. It is called The Big Bad Bingo Book Of Things That Go Bump In The Night (And Other Supernatural and Metaphysical Occurences) Unabridged.

-The abridged verson of Malazar's book is distributed on multiple worlds.

-There's a door for us to leave through? ><

-Malazar attempted to bring his favorite home sport, Shockball, to the Brink. Torment and Cora played a little bit, but it never went off. The gear is still in his closet.

-The walls in Malazar's room are literally covered with weaponry.

-The door to Malazar's bedroom, in his room, is locked, he sleeps most in a Lay-Z-Boy in the front room.

-The closet in Malazar's room is full of junk, machine parts, and sports gear.

-Malazar's computer dresses and speaks like a British butler.

-Being friends with Tacitus has it perks. The first time Malazar met Kara he punched Tacitus across the room for insulting her.

-Malazar didn't even notice doing it, or the sub-sequent bottles dropped on Tac's prone body.

-On his world, Malazar is a powerhouse capable of fighting nearly anything. Coming into the Brink and losing all his powers and magic is a huge load off.

-Every character I have teaches, Malazar is no exception.

-Malazar always has a gun on him, shhhhhhh, don't tell Tavin. =P

-I actually posted in the original Brink of Time with Jans Viper and Chibi Eagle. Both characters got a scolding by Tavin for starting fights.

-I have it on good authority that Tacitus purposefully provokes Tavin because Tavin writes better when angry.

-One time, I told Cora that Torment and Tacitus were different people. She believed me up until I tried to convince her I was Cross. xD

-Malazar can swear in a dozen different languages thanks to my large library and freetranslation.com

-Malazar has spent an entire day at the Brink speaking French.

What's My Inspiration?

Even though our characters are solely our own, and a creation of our imagination, we gather the inspiration for our RPs from everywhich where. Whether we mimick the writing style of our favorite authors, or model our characters off a small idea we saw on a TV show and blew it up, its time to give credit where its due.

So, what movies, television shows, books, stories, plays, ect... do you draw your inspiration from? I know I've got a ton of them up my sleeve... hm...
