Dreaming is a state of awareness where the mind and spirit use symbolic language to communicate. Dreaming occurs in the subconscious mind, which is most notably active during sleep. While you are sleeping the brain, mind, and spirit review and analyze long term, short term, and spirit memory. It uses emotions, thoughts, ideas, actions and interactions of the short-term memory and life trends and philosophy to influence the messages provided. Your mind also processes spiritual data, personal beliefs, data gained through psychic intuition, and communication from the divine forming a visual screenplay using a mixture of sight, sound, emotion, and imagined interactivity.
Getting Ready
Interpreting dreams can be done by anyone willing to learn how. It is not hard and requires very little time investment. It is not strange or unusual; it is a logical process implementing logical methods.
Tools used to aid in dream analysis are a notebook and/or a tape record; keep them by your bed to write or record the dreams. Recording your dreams can take getting used to but is better than only writing them because you can speak faster then you can write, you get more detail recorded and there is less work scrawling in the dark enabling you to record more information. You can also analyze the tone of voice and the exact wording. Speaking requires less concentration so your recall is better. You also want keep a journal to transfer the information from the tape in order to analysis it and make notes.
Sleep in a manner productive to dream recall. Following good, steady sleeping habits and relaxation is necessary, ensure you get enough sleep because when you regularly do not get enough sleep you sleep so deep it is almost impossible to remember your dreams.
Relax and enjoy some peace and quiet or use your favorite relaxation tapes, or some peaceful music (Pre-set to turn off). Experiment to see which works best for you.
Listen to your thoughts as you go to sleep they may give you a clue to the theme of the upcoming dream. Also, purposely thinking about a topic is a good way to dream about one particular issue. Don't over concentrate though, or it will keep you awake.
Recall is easily achieved by giving yourself the suggestion "I will remember my dream" Bring this thought randomly bring to surface, but be sure you mean it, and feel the conviction, you must want to remember your dreams to do so..
Waking up slowly and peacefully is the most beneficial to dream recall. You should wake up naturally without an alarm clock, and without someone (or something) waking you.
Health is very important, poor nutrition is also a common cause for failure to recall dreams. Eat a balanced diet and if necessary take vitamin and chelated minerals.
