Name: Bertram Silverwebb
(He started out as a fan character, based on Clayton Webb. I searched in a name book for a name as odd as the original and came up with Bertram, threw "silver" on the front of the surname and... there you go.)
Race: Shynonian
Notes on his cultural heritage: Shynonian is the name given to people whose heritage is a mix between Shynian and Nonian. Although both groups are of Kenzian origin, their cultures are quite different. Nonians are of particular note as they do not accept the existence of magic. Much of Bertram's appearance can be said to be a blend between to two groups. He has a hair color common among Shynians, but his complexion is fair, like his Nonian ancestors.
Age: Earth years – almost 40 years; Shynian years – about 26 years old If asked, he’ll say that he’s almost 40, but he looks more like he’s 26 years old.

Appearance
Hair: Short and chestnut in color. He is very particular about how his hair looks, feeling that messy or over-long hair shows an inattention to details.
Eyes: Green-gray (But sometimes they look bluish. Bertram's eyes are actually a lot like my own.)
Body type: He is of average height for a Shynian with a muscular, athletic build. He has an oval-shaped face and a small nose.
Clothing: Typically, Bertram will wear a white dress shirt and dark slacks with a long vest and a ribbon-tie. If the occasion calls for it, it will wear a long dress coat over his vest. When he's outside, he invariably wears a frock coat and matching cap. Only rarely does he dress in the traditional Shynian garb.
(His appearance started off being based on the actor who played Clayton Webb – only short and with glasses. I chose this picture because you can actually see his eyes: Steven Culp – played Clayton Webb)

Personality: Bertram is a gentle and caring person, who has a sensitive nature that he tends to hide behind a serious and business-like demeanor. He does what he has to get his job done, but will not willingly allow others to be harmed in order to make his job easier. He doesn’t altogether trust the motives of the Agency and gets very annoyed at Keenan’s antics. He clashed only slightly less with Trenton.

Historical Background: Bertram was well on his way to graduating from the Cygman Bardic School when he received a letter from his mother that said he needed to come home. Shortly after arriving, he learned that his father had been killed and his brother had been kidnapped. At that moment, he determined to join the Equisetan Defense Wardens, in the hopes of finding both his father's killers and his brother's whereabouts.

He worked in the Wardens' anti-forgery division for many years until one fateful evening changed his path once again. He had gone to see a speech delivered by a presidential candidate and happened to notice a would-be assassin in the crowd. His quick actions both saved the candidate's life and caused the Wardens to promote him to Watch Warden.

His first assignment as a Watch Warden was to defend the life of Elizabeth Sebohn against both a stalker and an organization that was bent on destroying all bards. Over the course of the year he spent protecting her, Bertram grew to love the gentle young woman. He began courting her only after he received permission to do so from his superiors.

Things began to heat up when Sebohn's stalker broke into her room. Shortly thereafter, an attempt was made on her life and the man was finally brought to justice. It was also learned, from him, who the leaders of the organization were. With his duty to Sebohn dispensed, the Agency felt free to call upon Silverwebb to work for them. As a Shynonian, Silverwebb felt it was his duty to listen to the call and left Equisetia to serve in the Agency. (Just so you know, he didn't really have a choice. Any other decision would have been seen as treason against Shynia and he would have been in deep, deep trouble.)

Tortures: Bertram's only important health condition is his unusually acute senses. This causes several problems, primarily, his senses can be over-stimulated causing headaches or odd behavior (e.g. removing coarse clothing in public because he cannot stand the feel of it). Also, while very acute at tremendous distances, he has difficulty focusing on things at what would be considered a normal distance. Therefore, he wears corrective lenses, which he removes when he wants to look far away.
Although it is not specifically a health condition, Silverwebb has a strong disbelief in the existence of magic. He will either explain any magic he sees in mundane terms or he will simply not accept that it occurs.
He has to work with Keenan on a regular basis – torture for anyone as serious as Bertram tends to be. He also feels a bit inadequate because he hasn't managed to find his brother yet. Finally, as was mentioned in Keenan's bio, the Agency doesn't care too much for the welfare of their people. If it suits them, they'd sacrifice a few for the "greater good" without batting an eye.

Name: Trenton Lark
Known Aliases and Nicknames: Thomas Landry, Trent
Note: A lark is a bird and this character was originally conceived as a shapeshifter who liked to take the form of a birds. Trenton was actually taken from the Trenton Formation, which is a limestone from the Middle Ordovician. (Did I mention that I studied geology in college?) The alias is a name he used in one story and “Trent” is what Keenan – who nicknames everyone he meets – calls him.
Race: Morphean
Morpheans are a newly discovered race on Kenzia (the planet that Shynia is located on). The people are shapeshifters and are actually not merely a separate race, they’re an entirely different species. No one really knows what their true form is, most take on the appearance of those around them, making them impossible to tell from regular Shynians.
Age: He’d be 45 years old, if he lived on Earth, but Shynian years are longer, so he’s younger and looks it – he appears to be about 30 years old. Also, if asked, he will tell you that he’s just turned 30.

Appearance
Hair: messy red-blond
Eyes: bright green
Appearance: Normally, he’s a bit shorter than your average Shynian, standing just five feet tall (two inches shorter than Keenan). He has a muscular, yet light build and soft, rounded features.
Clothing: Typically, Trenton wears a long hooded sweater over a simple cotton shirt and comfortable pants. He tends to favor the colors green and blue.

Personality: Trenton is a cheerful, exuberant man. He is outgoing and easily makes friends. He is also very clever, but sometimes a little too trusting of people around him. He’s also every bit as crazy as Keenan is, although in a slightly different way. He was an actor before he became an undercover agent and still acts – as his cover and in order to be paid regularly. This means that he sometimes acts like the character he happens to be playing or like a “typical” actor – out of fun and to tease people.

Historical Background: Treton was raised as a ward of the Loyalian government and attended the Royal Conservatory until his graduation. Even while he was still in school, he was acting. His first role was on a show rather like “Mr. Wizard’s World” that was meant to teach kids about magic. Next, he landed a job playing the son of a paranormal investigator, which lasted until just before he graduated from school.

Because of his incredible shapeshifting skill, the Agency tried to recruit him the moment he graduated. He declined initially, focusing on his acting career for several years. His first major role was as an Agent with the ability to shapeshift. The series ended in the death of the main character and rumors began to circulate that the actor who played the character – Trenton – had, in fact, actually died.

About fifteen years (that’s Earth years) ago, he finally joined the Agency – because he was having trouble landing an acting job and the Agency offered to actually pay him. They did, but not as much as he would have liked, so he continued trying to get back into acting. Eventually, he landed a job on a mystery that ended up being quite popular and enjoyed a seven-season run. It has just ended and he was immediately asked to star in a new crime drama.

He worked with Keenan and Bertram when the first Intelligence team was formed. When the Agency divided the team in two, he was placed under Bertram's command. More recently, he was made the team leader of Team Nu - with five other agents under his command, two of which were on Team Beta with him.

Magic: As was previously stated, Trenton can take the form of nearly any animal he can imagine. He also has the ability to change his physical appearance and actually take on the appearance of nearly everyone he meets. However, whatever form he takes, his hair retains a reddish hue and his eyes remain bright green.

Tortures: Trenton, like all Morpheans, is extremely sensitive to iron. Touching any metal containing it burns him. Eating foods high in iron make him extremely ill and if he’s impaled or cut by iron, it quickly becomes infected.
Like all the agents, he lives with the constant knowledge that the Agency values the success of their agenda over his life. If it’s more convenient that he die, the Agency will allow it. In fact, he found himself kidnapped once and the Agency very nearly decided to eliminate him, rather than risk him revealing any secrets.
Additional, unless he knows what the effects of a spell are going to be, it will not work as expected. It is believed that this effect comes from the Morpheans' ability to shape the world to their own perceptions of it. It is not known yet if this belief can extend to mundane things as well and unless it comes up in a story, it will probably never be known.

I’ll close this intro by saying that Trenton is probably the only person who can torture Keenan. He knows just what to say and do to get under Keenan’s skin – although Nathan’s doing a good job of it too.

Trenton is right up there among my favorite characters of the ones I've made up. He's a lot of fun to play with.

((He also started out as a Kurama clone - although you wouldn't know that by reading his profile. The only traits he still has are the green eyes and the shapeshifting (and his accent, which is the same as Kurama's English voice actor). His hair used to be bright screaming red, but I've toned that down.))

This is why I don't entirely disapprove of clones. 3nodding *hugs Vitae*

I b***h about clone characters all the time, but I've got at least three myself. No, wait, four. Ania's one, too. whee

As usual, no complaints, Koopa. No comment from me is a good thing; means I can't find anything to nitpicket. xd
