This will get more attention in the Game Help forum.
*moves*
Also, there are 2 ways that I know of to get cards. The first is to fight battles, on some occasions, the monsters you fight will drop cards. The second is to use Quezacotl's Card Mod ability. Once you learn it, you can automatically turn the monsters you fight into cards.

If you don't get that, the four numbers on the card represent each side of the card. so lets say you got a 4 on the left, 6 on the right, an A on the top and a 1 on the bottom. Well those four correspond with the four sides of the card. So if you put that card on the bottom middle of the board, that would be a smarter move to protect your weaker side, that 1. Now, however, you have 3 sides open for combat. If someone put a card the had a 3 on the right and put it to the left of your card, your card would win because the sides would read 3<--->4, four is the higher number. The A basically stands as a 10 and that's the highest you can go. Therefore, if someone put a card up there that was another A, nothing would happen...right? So I hope that was a little better, orientation is everything.

Okay, I will teach you how to play this game the easy way.
Lets go over the basics. The higher the level the cards (level 1-10) the higher the numbers the better the card. Numbers closer to 1 are the lowest. Numbers closer to 9 are the highest.
Example: 5 beats 4, 6 beats 2, 9 beats 8, Letter A (meaning anything) beats every number.
Now the numbers are based off of a grid of nine cards, their are three places to put cards on the three rows.
The cards have 4 numbers, one number for the top, one for the left, one for the right and one for the bottom.
http://www.ffonline.com/ff8/cards-lvl1.htm
take Blobra card for Example from Level 1 Top: 2 Left: 5 Right: 3 Bottom: 1
Now the placement is crutial. If I place this card in the top left corner of the board, the top and left numbers will be on the edge of the border meaning that they will not be played. The right number (3) and bottom (1) are in play and exposed to the board. Any number higher than 1 and any number higher than 3 will be defeated. The object is to get the highest number in play and to defeat the other player with the higher numbers.
Now it gets a little bit confusing here with rules of Same, Plus and Elemental. These are combinations.
Same: Two numbers on a card have to be identical with two numbers that are parallel with the cards adjacent to the card placed.
Example: Cards Placed on board Top Left Blue Dragon Top: 6 Left: 3 Right: 2 Bottom: 7 Middle Mesmerize Top: 5 Left: 4 Right: 3 Bottom: 3
Now you want to place a card in the left-middle row box. Above you is Blue Dragon with the number (7) as the bottom number and To the right of that space is Mesmerize with the number (4) as the left number. You have to find a card with the same numbers that are displayed. Find a card with 7 as the top number and 4 as the left.
Torama has a card with these numbers Top: 7 Left: 4 Right: 4 Bottom: 4
Placing the card in the spot you have the same numbers as the cards adjacent. You win because you completed the Same pattern.
With Plus you do something similar however you must find two numbers that add up to another number
Example is with the same cards in the same placement you have for the Blue dragon card (7) and Mesermize (4). Adding you have to find a card with the numbers that would add up to a number. Example of a number will be 9 (you can use any number).
(7) + __ = 9 *2* (4) + __ = 9 *5*
Now if I have a card with the top number as 2 and the right number as 5, I will create a plus pattern. Remember they can add up to whatever number as long as the number is the same.
If the top number of one of my cards is *5*, the number on the right has to be *8* in order for plus to work
Elemental. Play the rules as normal, however Elements that are matched up with their elemental card will have first priority. If the card says +1 when placed, then you have first priority where if the number that matched up are the same or they are one number higher, your card will not be turned. If the card says -1 when placed, the number that is the same or 1 lower will be turned.
