Twilight town Twilight Town (トワイライトタウン Towairaito Taun) is a world in the games Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II. The description of Twilight Town in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories states that it is a curious town between light and dark. It was thought by fans to be the hub of all activity in Kingdom Hearts II, in a similar fashion to Traverse Town in the original game, but Square Enix later stated that Hollow Bastion would be filling that role. Instead, players go through many jobs in this town, including a mini-game in which players deliver letters and post flyers on a skateboard. It fufills a role more similar to the Destiny Islands in the previous game. This is the only world where the player can control Roxas.
The Twilight Town that Roxas resides in is in fact a simulated, digital Twilight Town, created from the real Twilight Town's data. After his defeat at the hands of Riku, Roxas was taken to DiZ and digitized into the simulated world. To maintain the illusion, all the residents of the simulation remained intact and were created to behave just like their real world counterparts. It is here that Roxas discovers his past and meets several important characters
Twilight Town consists of two districts that are connected by train, the shopping district and Sunset Residential District.

Shopping District
In the middle of the town is the beloved clock tower, which has a view of the shopping district. The shopping district has many stores (i.e. accessory store) and a lot of houses. Citizens of Twilight Town use trams to travel through the Tram Plaza, which is located in the middle of the shopping district.
Sunset Residential District
There is a suburb in Twilight Town, Sunset Residential District, which gives an outlook of the fields. Sunset Hill, which is located in the residential district, is known for its spectacular view of the sunset. On the top of the hill is a monument that tributes the construction of the clock tower, the symbol of the town. Unlike the shopping district, there are not a lot of people walking around in this district, along the lined-up streetlamps that bend over the little river that passes through the middle of Sunset Residential District. Citizens get to the suburb by riding the train from Central Station, which passes a tunnel and into Sunset Station.

The Old Mansion.Screenshots reveal a huge mansion behind a locked gate, which can be reached from the Tram Common and through the forest. This mansion is called the Old Mansion and it seems that nobody enters or leaves that place... And underground this building is the secret headquarters of the masked enigma DiZ. A portal in the underground basement of the (digital) mansion leads to the World That Never Was , the base of operations of the Organization and most importantly, the world of Kingdom Hearts itself.
Twilight Town introduces the second playable character of Kingdom Hearts II, a blond boy who has some sort of connection with Sora. This boy, named Roxas (an anagram of "Sora X"), is first seen on the clock tower above Twilight Station admiring the view. Players watch this scene after completing Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories as Riku in the Reverse/Rebirth mode at the end of the credits. Roxas is also seen with friends: Hayner, Olette and Pence. Hayner and his gang have a little hideout, called 'the Usual Spot,' near the shopping district. It was originally a passageway, but Hayners gang took over and brought a lot of stuff in it, creating a home-like atmosphere. Cracks in the ceiling reveals train tracks and the sound of the train going by may be heard.
Struggle
In Kingdom Hearts II, Roxas and his friends are seen talking elsewhere in the town, while the boy thinks to himself about strange dreams he is having. Later, along with his friends, Roxas enters a tournament called "The Struggle Battle Tournament" in which he must duel his opponents one-on-one with a bat, including Seifer Almasy, who is with Rai and Fuu (all characters from Final Fantasy VIII) and Vivi Ornitier from Final Fantasy IX, and Setzer Gabbiani from Final Fantasy VI. The objective of the game is simple: to pick up the opponent's dropped orbs when you hit them. The game is interesting to watch and is Twilight Town's popular battle game. A champion of the tournament is showered with great popularity. The Struggle battle is located in the sandlot below the Tram Plaza. It is also where Seifer and his gang, who are Roxas and his friends' rival, hang out.
During the Struggle Battle Tournament, Axel and Roxas battle because DiZ's wish to restore Sora's memories, which must occur at a faster rate, requires Roxas to fuse himself with Sora.
The Tower
Within the world of Twilight Town is also the Tower, the residence of Yen Sid and Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. The Tower is located on something of an island in space, and is only reachable through a special train, colored blue with golden stars and adorned with a large wizard's hat.
