So now that I've read the Novel, seen the movie, and read the first 4 books of the Manga, I'm ready to talk. Anyone else here expierenced all 3 forms of this story?
The novel was my favorite, mostly because you got to know the characters fairly well.
I didn't care for the movie, as I don't care for alot of movies.. The characters were way too brushed over and I didn't like the "transfer students" angel, since Shogo was the only transfer, and he wasn't just there for the program
The Manga.... or is it Hentai... I swear out of the first 4 books, only the 4th didn't have nudity in it O_O It's like the skanky version of the novel.
So yes, anyone else care to give their thoughts?

I'm unfamiliar with asian culture.
Did the book came first? Would you suggest the book, the manga, or the movie to a newbie like me?

Sub Pahar I'm unfamiliar with asian culture. Did the book came first? Would you suggest the book, the manga, or the movie to a newbie like me? Book came out first. I'd suggest all 3, but be aware, the manga is very graphic and you may not be able to by it if you're under 18.. And I would def. read the novel since it's the basis for everything else, but be aware that it's over 600 pages long, so it takes some time to read. It's a fast read, but still takes a good amount of time.

The novel goes so in depth that the movie is like a small preveiw of the book. But I would still read the novel first. Just my opinion. Also, the manga version of it is practically just smut.
