There was always whispers of a secret world within our own. A world that humans are not to know about, one that is shaped by our darkest desires and our worst fear. Yet some say that these creatures can be just as 'human' as we are, they have thoughts and fears and feelings just like our own. But then why do I feel the urge to scream when I see those glowing eyes?

The world of Dawn of Twilight is governed by magic, there is very little if no technology present. The people have long since given up the world of tecnology for the simplistics and harmony found withint the natural order of things and the flow of magic. Many humans are embuned with the ability to use magic and others are not, they all have found their way in life and none have commented on the technologies of their fore berrors. With the rediscovery of magic the old legends and folklores are being investigated, some that venture too close to the truth behind select legends are never heard from again. Because of this only a select few become researchers in the master library found in Olympus, and many legends continue as such.

Before you stands the sign to one of the surrounding small towns. Its well kept yet shows signs of age, scralled acrossed the center it reads, Welcome to Athens. As the road stretches before you, you look above the treelines to see a large mountain reaching for the sky. This town is the closet of the five small towns, The one behind you is Ambrosia, to the west Elysian, to the east Pandora, and up further past Athens is the town of Olympus. Rightly named as it is the town that nests on the first rise of the mountain. Now what shall you do? Take the road south to Ambrosia? or north to Athens, maybe Olympus even?

The day was bright and beautiful, a few soft white clouds speckled the blue sky. Under the shade of a willow tree a young woman sat reading, her hair was pulled back in a loose braid at her side. The book in her hand was a rather thick tomb, one that spoke of seeing a few decades in its long life. A few more equally thick tombs sat scattered in a half hazard pile at her side. Tucking a stray hair behind her ear she let out a soft sigh, there is so much history to Olympus as well as the surrounding towns. Originally there was only one large town, but it had been split up during a strange war of sorts that not many of the historic texts would go into details about. All that was said was that a force of great evil came to the land and though all the forces of good had joined up against this evil, it was not enough. That it took a random act of 'good' by one aligned with evil to turn the tides. 'And thus was born the grey area between good and evil.' came her arid thought as she placed a marker in the tomb and placed it at her side amongst the others. Leaning back she looked through the leaves at the sky, the gentle breeze gave the reflecting light a kaleidoscope effect. Even as the moment itself should have cleared the clutter within her mind, her thoughts where still on the vagueness of this historic event. Although all other historic texts have gone through revisions and even further investigations to make sure such events where recorded accuratly. she smiled ruefully at the tops of the tree. 'All this comming from one who can't even recall what happened the past three years.'

Her thoughts where interupted by a male voice calling her name, "Aine!"
Glancing towards the source of the voice she saw a young scholar he had a sash that hung around his neck the opened ends billowing as he ran towards her. The symbols on the sides of the sash showed his status within the library, she vaguely wondered how they managed to keep the sash from falling off as nothing really clipped to it. When he finally came into the shade of the willow he paused to catch his breath, "Faylor would like to have a word with you Ms. Aine and the head librarian wonders when you'd be returning the ancient tomb on the Holy War. It is after all the only copy that they have." Aine rose softly from her place and took her time dusting off her robes, her own sash displaying her higher rank within the scholars. The boy blushed slightly, but stood his ground. "I will see Faylor, and since the head is so worried about his text then you shall see to it that they are returned to him." Without waiting for the boy's response she stepped out of her peaceful place amonst the willow's branches into the sun beaten path that lead towards the high tower, where Faylor's office is held.

Somewhere outside of town a slender black cat lounged in the bows of a tree. His tail swayed lazily as he gazed over the limbs that hid him from view to watch the path that lead into the neighboring town. After his latest amusement this relaxing time of launging in a tree was time well earned. His gold-green eyes twinkled in his amusement as he adjusted himself for a light nap.

Morgan glared at the text book her teacher had just given to her not a few minutes ago. 'Atleast its not another bloody pointless chore' she grumbled to herself. Slipping the book into her satchel she made her way out of the dinning room, and stepped onto the cobble stoned path. There where a few teachers of magic in the town of Ambrosia, and those that did teach did so from the comferts of their own home or even in the fields outside of town. Only the white and potential grey magics where taught openly, those that wished to study the dark arts would be wise to do so in private and in secret. For even though Ambrosia was well known for accepting any who walked in, there where rules to be followed and openly studying dark arts put the town in danger and that made you a threat. Threats where erased and never heard from again, even Athens had the same mind set as Ambrosia. However it was Elysian that gave some hesitation before going into, they really had no set rules, more like guidelines by which to follow. Which meant they could be bent and twisted to your hearts desire. Then of course there where the towns of Pandora and Olympus, the complete polar opposites, Olympus' alignment was good. But there where always those that lived there that had an elevated opinion of themselves, which left them no better then the pompus dark mages that lived in Pandora. Of course there where always those that held a sense of law in their set path, or they just did as they pleased.

Morgan stretched as she walked throwning her arms behind her head, her hair was setup in spiked pigtails that fanned out around her. The edges where dyed a vibrant purple and the rest was a deep blue. Her bangs rested at her brow line the tips of which also dyed purple. She wore light purple eyeshadow and eyeliner that went out to make a spiraled vine patter on the left side of her face. The final touch for her makeup was the cherry blue lipstick she wore that was also fragrented. She wore a purple and black pinstriped vest/halter top and black arm warmers that ran up her arms, a design of green vines decorated the arm warmers. Her black pants held snuggly at her hips and flared out just below the knee. Throughout the entire pants where tribal paterns cut into the fabric and set out with a velvet one using the shades of blue and purple. She hadn't cared much about her sheos so she only threw on a simple pair of black slip on shoes. Morgan's jewlery always consited of atleats one necklace, earings and her thumb rings. Today was no exception, her satchel hung at her side patting against her as she walked, her mind thinking of a song that matched the beat.

The youth had breathed out a sigh as Aine was out of sight before he began to collect the tombs.

Aine entered into the tower and faced a well carved statue of a gryffin, muttered a few choice words under her breath the statue revealed a set of stairs behind it. As she stepped onto the first one they began to climb upward in a winding fashion as the statue returned to its normal station. Vaguely Aine wondered about the elaberate hidding spot of the stairwell, but before her mussings got any farther she was standing before Faylor's office door. Stepping off the steps she rapped on the door, a moment passed before the door creaked and groaned as it opened for her. There in the back of the crowded office was Faylor, he seemed rather small in compairison to the large rosewood desk he sat at. Several parchments and scrolls littered its top as well as messily organized stacks surounded the desk and the nearby bookshelves.

"Ah there you are my dear." Faylor looked up from his work, a soft twinkle in his eye that thus far only he could manage. "I've been looking over your progress reports."

"I hope its nothing bad sir."Aine fidgeted slightly as she aproached the desk. Faylor continued to smile gently at her and gestured for her to take a seat.

"No, but it would seem that you hold top rank in all of your studies. I wonder if you are growing bored with your studies..." Faylor trailed slightly as he watched her over his silver trimmed glasses.

Aine blushed slightly, "A little bit sir, I do listen to the lectures though." she added the last part rather quickly wondering if the report also noted her habit of doodling in her notebooks.

"I'm certain that you do Aine, especially with the marks you've recieved. But some of your professors seem to think it might be better if you started to look at becoming an aprentice."

Aine blinked as she looked up at the man, "I thought I couldn't do that till I finished with the tests?"

"That is one of the stipulations, though you can begin an independant study for these tests as you see which area you wish to enter for your aprentiship." As Faylor finished Aine still seemed to be processing all of this, "Still it always up to you whether or not you wish to advance this way or to take your time."

"Do I have time to think it over sir?" Aine's mind was whirling slightly, all she ever seemed to have gotten from the teachers was a feel that she was not wanted there. That she was a burden to them, even if she did have the highest marks, they never seemed good enough. Maybe taking this aprentiship might help her to get around others, maybe this feeling was just in her mind. As she thought she fingered the choker necklace that was around her neck.

"Of course my dear, you have till the end of the week to make up your mind." Faylor smiled to her, though his eyes seemed concerned for the young girl.

With a moments thought Morgan decided to head out towards the fields for a bit, it wasn't as if she was expected how. And the books she had in her pack where not in the least bit dark so she didn't have to worry if someone should look through it. As she stepped into the fielded area, the praire like grass swayed in the wind brushing against the sides of her legs. With a grin on her face she spotted the perfect spot, just under a sagely old tree that was standing like an island amonst the grass. Setting down her sachel she used it as a pillow and layed out to watch the sunlight glitter through the leaves in the old tree.

Brakkis let his massive sword to the ground with a thud, the impact raising a bit of dust form the road. He rubbed his forearm across his brow and stared at the sign, then past it toward Athens. He frowned, leaning on his weapon.

"'Athens', huh? Interesting." He sighed, tugging in annoyance at the iron collar aorund his neck. He heaved the sheathed sowrd back over his shoulder and shook his head.

"Might as well go see if there's work. Maybe somebody there can give me a hand." He yanked the hood of his cloak back up over his head and began trudging toward Athens.

Orim opened his eyes lazily as they focused on the girl whom sat against the base of his tree. His head was rested on his paws as he simply watched the girl, it wasn;t often that someone came out into the fields. And even then they did not come out to just sit under an old tree. He watched her with slight interest, amused that though she was looking up she had yet to see him on the branch off to the side.

"Damn, fly traps...that merchant said that it liked bigger fare, but..." With a final curse, the plant's jaws snapped open and the sharp howl of a cat echoed through the empty shop as its tail slipped frre from th plant''s grasp. She glanced down at the upset feline who had jumped to one of her bookshelves to tend to its bruised tail and sighed. "Serves you right, Denthe. You should've known better..." She slipped her thick hide gloves off and tossed them onto the counter next to a few open books and took her usual position behind the counter, grumbling in an ancient tongue.

Brakkis entered Athens along with various and sundry other pedestrians. He looked aroundas he passed various shops and restaurants, Inns and what he would swear were bordellos. He chuckled to himself and decided to find an Inn to stay at for a little while. He still had some coin from his last job, at least enough to last until his next job. He hoped.

Aine looked over at the older man curiously before speaking, "Is there anything else?"
He seemed to consider this, before he nodded his head and stood up gathering a few scroll carriers and set them on the desk infront of her. "I would like you to deliver these to a dear friend of mine in Athens." He handed her a note with a name and address. "I figured you would like a break away from here, and it will help you think over what you have to decide." Aine nodded, he always did have a starnge way of reading her before she even said anything.

Taking the cases, there where three in all and headed out. Once on the streets she headed home to get ready for her journy. Faylor did have a good point atleast she wouldn't have to deal with the whispers. It was rather strange, it was as if there was something they knew about her and that bothered her more then anything else. Unconciously she fingered the collar like necklace, it was the only link she had to her past.

Morgan sighed outloud as she watched the shifting of light thorugh the branches. Slowly she raised up her hand and with her index finger she began guesturing, similar to a band instructor. As she did this some of the leaved broke off from their branches and began to dance about the air, as she did this she began to mutter a series of incantations that changed a few of the leaves colors and then where turned into figureless figures that kept the leaf's original texture. Slowly the newly created figures coupled up and began to dance to an unheared music all directed from Morgan's finger tip.

The cat watched the dancers idely though his tail twitched with interest at the moving figures that floated just out of reach.

Brakkis sighed and stretched out on his newly acquired bed. He'd managed to rent a room for a few days, which he figured was enough time to find work or move on. It was nice to be on a real bed.

I should probably get out and look for some work, though...plenty of time to sleep later... With another sigh, this one much heavier than the last, the former-werewolf stood, strapped hsi sword back on. He debated whether to put his cloak back on, then decided against it. No reason to make folk more suspicious than they already were. Then he headed out of the Inn and onto the streets.

Aine went to the paddock and found her mount a rather strong golden tan stallion with a almost white main, that most of the keepers claimed would never allow anyone near it. It brought a soft smile to her lips as she remembered the looks on their faces when the horse had nuzzled her. Running her fingers down the horsees neck she finally came back to ehrself and got on, with a soft nudge the horse headed into a steady canter before they exited the city. Once on the beaten trail towards Athen, Aine grinned and leaned into the horse. The horse knew what this ment and needed no further encouragement and shot forward, Aine loved this free feeling of the wind and the rush of speed.

All to soon the welcoming sign for the city was before them and with great reluctance she eased the stallion out of the full gallope to a lighter one, before a steady canter.
