What is your favorite movie by Stephen King? I'd have to say mine is Rose Red.

There are a lot of Stephen King movies I haven't seen, but out of the ones I've watched Shawshank Redemtion and The Green Mile are my favorite.
I really loved the book Hearts in Atlantis, but a lot of people have told me the movie wasn't good so I'm a little worried about watching that one.

Hearts in Atlantis was a good movie if it isn't compared to tbe books. For one thing they took out all the Dark Tower connected stuff. The Low Men in the movie are supposed to be working for the US government... instead of the Crimson King. And Ted was some psychic used against the Russians... not a Beam Breaker... whatever.
Good Stephen King movies that I really like: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Misery, Dolorus Claborne, Carrie, and Secret Window.
I'm sure I can think of a few more, but not at the moment.

Ah, I don't want to watch Hearts in Atlantis if they took out all the DT connections. Every change you described made me want to cringe.

I've only seen The Shining and some of Sleepwalkers. I almost screamed during The Shining because it was SO BORING! I just wanted it to be over. Grrrr.
I laughed almost the whole way through Sleepwalkers.

I really do recomend (sp?) Rose Red. It's very long, but one of the greatest movies I've ever seen.

cbkittymeow I think It would be the Stand and It. I really hated It. There were too many things that diverged away from the book (and where's the Turtle? I loved that part of the book even before I discovered it was connected to the Dark Tower). The Stand was really close to the book - all thing considered - but since it was an HBO mini-series, much of the epic-ness was gone from it. Whenever I visualize the Stand, I see miles of highways choked with cars filled with bodies. I see fires sweeping across entire towns, caused by Trashy. I just see and feel all the people dying and the chaos, and so forth. But with the movie, I didn't quite get that feeling. Which was very disappointing.

It was probably my least favourite movie (yes, I was also pissed off that the turtle wasn't in it) The movie left out some of the important stuff, which shoudn't have happened because there was a bunch of pointless stuff in it that could've been cut out. I guess Christine is my favourite (I've only seen The Shining, The Green Mile, Christine, Dreamcatcher, and It) I found the second part of Pet Sematary at a liquidation place, and even though I know the story, I still don't want to watch it because I don't have the first part *weird*

My favorite movie would have to be Carrie, it's just so classic and I think every teenage girl who isn't popular has dreams of killing everyone at Prom. I know I do...
I also like Secret Window, Johnny Depp was yummy as usual and the plot mwas good.

hcochick72 I really do recomend (sp?) Rose Red. It's very long, but one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. Funny story about The Shining. My buddy's aunt was reading the book, got halfway through, and stopped because it got too scary. She watched the movie, got to the same spot, and stopped. (Tee hee hee.)

Hands down The Green Mile... the books made me cry and I cried through most of the movie too.... beautifully written and beautifully translated for the screen.

Gomenroia Hands down The Green Mile... the books made me cry and I cried through most of the movie too.... beautifully written and beautifully translated for the screen. The Green Mile is one of the movies that has made me cry. I got very teary eyed at the end of the book too. I think they did an amazing job turning it into a movie.
