Bolthorman

Wheezing Streaker

PostPosted: Sat Jul 24, 2004 12:59 am

Yo! I'm Bolthorman... obvious, eh?

If you really want to know, I'm Bryan.

My main passion in the world is creating things. This usually comes in the form of music. I love making music. As a result, I play (acoustic and electric) guitar, (tenor, alto, and baritone) saxophone, The recorder, and I have some experience with percussion. I played the bass for a while, too. So yeah, I like making music. I recently picked up some recording equipment, but have no mic. yet. I also draw. I suck at it, but I enjoy doing it. I hope to be an animator as my profession, but that will require a lot of work because I really REALLY suck at drawing. I do some writing, but I enjoy reading more...

I hate politics, actually. But I believe that I would be an idiot and an ingrate if I ignored them. I want a say in how my country is run, and I want to convince other people to think more fully about their political beliefs.

I have had a lot of jobs considering I am 19... I have worked as stage crew, theatre tech (lights, sound, set design), accounting secretary, cook, mechanic, and I will be a residential advisor for SJSU in less than a month. That will be very exciting for me.

I do a lot of reading. I really like fantasy novels because the characters in them, despite their fictionality (word?), they give me hope in what the human race can be. Eh... sappy. Favorite series by far is Fafhrd & Gray Mouser, then Wizard of Earthsea, and then Lord of the Rings (just cause I have to give credit where credit is due) followed shortly by Saga of the Volsungs and other Viking mythology.

I love mythology.

My favorite music is anything made well. This is extremely vague and subjective, but it is the only criteria that I have. Favorite band is Queen. Ween is picking up steam in my book. I really like Grand Master Flash. I like Dire straights Sultans of Swing album, but none of their others. I like Daau, because they are so unique and talented it's freaky. I love Nick Drake, and his recent American counterpart, Gary Jules. Hendrix is awesome, but in my opinion, Brian May is the better guitarist... uh... yeah, I could ramble on for days, and I do.... but this is not the music forum.

I like exercise and go biking for about an hour 3 or 4 days a week, but still manage to be 6'1 and 205 lbs. *grumble.* I am a vegetarian for useless hippy reasons (environment.)

I have a really laid back personality and can take criticism really well (as long as it is good natured.)

I tend to ramble.

Name: Tanya Keen

Grade: HIgh school softmore
Interests: I love writing. I write poems, commercials, scripts, and novels. I mainly write about horror. I've always loved horror and it will be my profession because any other wouldn't be suitable for me. My greatest achievment would have to be my script Guanjin. Tom Savini and Jon Beck got a look at it, Tom Savini is a special effects artist god in the horror biz. He did work for the Friday the 13th series, directed Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and did a variety of things included a spot on the Simpsons once. And Jon Beck was the guy who the creature in Jeepers Creepers. I am working on several books at the moment but my most promising ones are "101 Ways to Die" and "Frozen Screams". Those I will surely get published.
Idol: Stephen King
Favorite movie:Evil Dead
Favorite shows: Futurama, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Aqua Team Hunger Force, and of course, the Goldengirls.
Hobbies: I cross stitch and if you don't know what that is, its just another way of saying I sew, yes, like an old lady. Except I sew like dragons and wizards.
Phobias: Deep water, all bugs, big dogs, hieght, bad movies, and feet. Seriously, I really can't stand feet, they scare the crap out of me.
The careers I want when I grow up: Director, writer, producer, head of my own film producing company that is merged with New Line, and film critic.

PostPosted: Mon Jul 26, 2004 3:05 am

Real Name: Daniel or Danjel (depending upon which document you look at).

Age: 25, born December 16, 1978.

Place of Residence: Sydney, Australia.

Languages: English and Japanes as well as a smattering of a variety of languages, particularly SE Asian, Chinese and Altaic languages.

Occupation: P/T Academic in Linguistics, Gifted Education Consultant Teacher (specialist in Computing Teaching methodology and gifted education for "double labelled" Gifted/NESB and Gifted/Linguistic Impaired as well as underachieving children), P/T postgraduate student in Cognitive Science.

Interests outside of Gaia:
During Winter, I spend most of my free time drinking coffee with friends or reading books on one of the lawns at the university. During Summer, I spend a lot of time at the beach or, again, reading books on the lawns at the university. As you can tell, I'm practically garden furniture at the uni where I work/study
I live just down the road from a really nice cinema, to which I have yearly tickets, so I see practically every movie that comes out. I have a small group of friends with whom I usually go, one of whom is a movie critic for a Sydney newspaper, so it works out well.
I'm also a Classical and Jazz buff, and I'm semi-involved in the local jazz music scene. I also try and get to classical concerts as much as possible (when I have time/money). I don't actually play any instrument (although I do play the Cello at a beginner's level), but I still like to listen.
For sport, I practised Kendo since I was very young, including two stints practising in Japan, the second of which I was a "sensei" for a Japanese high school. I tore some muscles in my chest (intercostal) and fractured some ribs a few years ago, which, combined with existing lung problems effectively put me out-of-action for most competitive events. I occasionally help out with referee-ing and other things where technical knowledge in Kendo is important (grading, teaching of "cultural fundamentals", etc.) and also help out with visiting sensei from Japan. I also practise Iaido in my own time whenever I have time. Against Kendo it's relatively more boring, but I also play tennis socially.

BLAH BLAH.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 29, 2004 8:37 pm

Real Name: Timothy (like those two books in the bible that I never read).

Age: 18 born January 6, 1986.

Place of Residence: Marietta, Georgia.

Languages: English and German a bit...

Occupation: I am just a College Student currently... I would list my summer job, if I was able to get one gonk

Other Information: I am technically disabled, I have a form Austism known as Asperger's Syndrom. Most of my free time I have spent working on owning this genetic disorder. I am pleased with my development so far, although there are some things that I need to work on. I qualify for the Honor's College at the State University of West Georgia, so I will be going there for the next four years or so, that or I might transfer to the University of Georgia in Athens after two years... it really depends on what goes on.

I was raised in a Conservative, somewhat wealthy, suburb. My family lives just over the county line so we weren't ground under the heal of a throughly corrupt Democratic Feefdom known as the City of Atlanta. While the mayors have changed, there has just been one regime that has persisted since the end of the Civil War. There was a recent nationally televised row over the decript sewer system in Atlanta, well there HAD been a Special Options Sales Tax passed to FIX said problem TEN YEARS AGO, that money was re-appropreated to other pet projects. This is just one of the plethora of examples I have of corruption of that city, they don't FIX problems, they throw money at problems... Money that they get from the suburbs which happen to fall under Fulton County's juristiction as a result of a merger between counties. Had we settled just a little ways over, then we would not be able to afford the paralizingly high property taxes. This is one of the major reasons why I county myself as a Republican.

Howdy! My name is Corey Armstrong, Im a sophomore Geographic Information Science major with a minor in Meteorology, a member of the Corps of Cadets, squadron "Talon" 12, but more importantly I'm the proudest member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie class of 2007!

just a 19 year old navy brat persuing an Air Force comission as a Special Tactics Officer (CCT or CWX). I came here from Brandon, Florida where I worked at Hollywood Video for a bit more than a year (Bloomingdale and Bell Shoals store if anybody is curious). I like to play Total Annihilation, I use Linux (currently Fedora Core II), have built and aspire to build a better Ornithopter (airplane with flapping wings), and like to read about cloud seeding or other forms of weather modofication...

My favorite book is Starship Troopers, favorite TV show was MST3k, favorite movie is Black Hawk Down... I like history and was a Civil War reenactor (powder monkey with the Milton Light Artillery, A battery, of the Florida Light Artillery Battallion) as well as a missionary/printing apprentice at the Mission Houses museum in Honolulu, Hawaii.

I have lived in Virginia, Florida, Kansas, Hawaii, Washington, and Texas.

Hows that?

Name Razak Red

AKA:GT, Gerbera tetra, Forge McCain, that real a*****e in ED-Poli, etc.

Real Name: Corey

Age: 32

Place of Residence: Dallas, Texas, USA

Occupation: Salesman

Background: I grew up the first child of a single mother on welfare. I spent the latter part of my development in the care of my grandparents. All in all a pretty bumpy ride through lower to shallow middle class. I'm high school educated with some independent courses in various things along the way. No official degree, but the equivalent of an associates in a few things.

I've been employed as a janitor, a forklift operator, a production assistant then supervisor of same. Sales and customer service are recent additions to my repertoire.

Politically I’m a conservative fiscally and governmentally but classically liberal socially (i.e. libertarian-ish). Needless to say I'm the founder to the original Leaning Right Guild (accept no substitutes).

On Gaia I'm found occasionally (as work permits) in ED-Poli and rarely in the RP guilds.

Name: Claire Adah Bresnahan

Age: 16

Education: I've been going to high school and community college simultaneously in order to graduate early and attend Bard College. I leave for the east coast this August. To never, ever take a health class again.

Race: white chick

Background: I've been raised in the upper middle class, living most of my life in San Francisco, but some in Maryland and Barcelona because my father had sabbaticals from his work as a microeconomics professor.

Interests: I really, really like math and drawing, and I have an unfortunate tendency to be sarcastic. On Gaia, I rarely venture beyond ED Politics or Poetry/Lyricism. I like reading and writing non-angst poetry. I really do have purple hair. I don't like movies much but I love reading just about anything. I sleep on top of the covers and don't steal shiny objects. I also love art history, drawing, the statue Nike of Samothrace, and the word "misanthropic."

Political Alignment: I'm fairly liberal, though I was raised a conservative. The older I get, the more moderate I get.

And for those of you with long memories, the person long ago known as Gabriel was me. wink
PostPosted: Wed Aug 04, 2004 6:38 pm

Age: Too old for purple hair, but I would if I was younger. adah biggrin

Location: That disgustingly bigoted state that just passed the first anti-gay marriage law. Not a happy resident right now.

Occupation: College student on intermission until January. Part time jack of most trades in a print shop.

Education: Associate of Arts degree. Will continue on to obtain Bachelor's of Sociology, with minor in Political science. I was editor in chief of my college paper (that's why I usually provide sources, it was hammered into my head)

Interests: Well, I love politics (that's a no brainer). I find people fascinating, although I don't particularly like them much. I love to read almost anything except romance novels.

Political beliefs: I was raised liberal, had a stint as a social conservative, decided other peoples' business was none of my damn business and am happily a social liberal again.

Entertainment: I like...well I will get to this one later.

Real name: Danielle Sylvie Marie Lucienne (Last name witheld.)

Age: 29

Date of birth: November 26, 1974

Current Residence: Southern California for now. AZ in January.

Place of origin: New brunswick, Canada

Occupation: Freelance Artist, Singer

Languages: French is my first language, English my second. Semifluent in Japanese (I've done some translation), and I can read Italian, Spanish and German pretty well.

Political Leanings: I'm pretty far left, and in US terms seem to be a mix of Green and Libertarian. I'm for religious freedom, legalising gay marriage in all states, and a secular government. I'm for socialised medicine and welfare, but I would prefer them to be run responsibly. I think that income should not be taxed but that goods and services should be. I think that environmental standards need to be tightened severely, and infractions should be much more highly punished. (I feel this way because environmental degradation and pollution is part of what caused my illness and is a major factor in it and in asthma and dangerous allergies. I WISH that most chemicals in soap, perfume, and detergents were banned as detrimental to human health, but that's a pipe dream.) I believe in fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets. I also believe in higher pay and better benefits for the military, as well as better conditions and equipmennt for those currently serving in Iraq. And I think that pot should be legalised and taxed. And I am appalled by the prices of legal drugs in this country.

I absolutely despise the current administration for its policies, and my household is voting Democrat this year- we voted Green in the last elections.

We did not vote for Arnold.

Miscellaneous info: I have lived in the US for ten years.

I'm a Deist/buddhist/Neo-Pagan Reverend. I earned my Third Degree after about eight years of study, and actually registered legally some time ago. If it were legal in my state, I would willingly risk my health and perform gay marriages.

I'm French-Canadian, and I can trace my family tree on my father's side back to the 1500's and to France- since I can't travel, I can't trace back further than that yet. One of my ancestors was Lieutenant General and Judge of the Port Royal tribunal. Many of my direct ancestors were killed, and many more were deported to various places in the US (Louisiana in particular) and back to France. Some of them were allowed to remain in Acadia (what became Canada's Maritime provinces), which is where I was born. And anyone who accuses me or my ancestors of cowardice is very mistaken. I don't, as one can see, take very kindly to French-bashing, and am extremely proud of my heritage on both sides of the Atlantic.

I have Addison's Disease. My immune system is out of control, so I have to stay very cold, take lots of pills, and avoid any exposure to chemicals and pesticides, which means that not only have I been homebound for the last five years, I can't have any visitors unless they go through a months-long decontaminationn process. As it is, my health is extremely fragile, my immune system has damaged much of my body and my vital systems, including my brain. I have had numerous near-death experiences because of this, and have developed an intense dislike for american hospitals and doctors in general (they are incompetent when it comes to rare diseases)- I've met a few exceptions, but they're few and far between.

I am married, and I also have a live-in lesbian girlfriend who happenns to be our aide.

I'm in a band and have been for eight years, and we have a few mp3's which I can provide upon request and which are older than I'd care for but not too bad.

Interests and Hobbies outside of Gaia: Acadiana, anime, anthropology, beading, biology, books (fiction and nonfiction), botany, buddhism, cooking, drawing and painting (digitally nowadays), endocrinology, fishkeeping (goldfish, koi, and discus, in particular), gardening (particularly tropicals, including tropical fruit), linguistics, manga, musicmaking, mythology, philosophy, politics, roleplaying (not on Gaia), tarot, theology, and traveling (rather difficult in the last five years).

I also read most of the major news sites and a few of the minor ones, peruse political blogs left, right, and center; and keep up with scientific and medical websites.

I have lived in dirt poor slums, and upper middle class neighbourhoods, and lived in both large cities, and small towns. I perfer to be working class Blue Collar to a White collar office worker. I have several tattoos, and if you seen me you wouldn't assume by my appearance that I am very conservative about many issues.I have a Weimariner, and a ferret as pets. I like to keep in shape, though until recently I didn't have alot of time for it.

Current Addiction: Aqua Teen Hunger Force

oh em jyu

PostPosted: Thu Aug 12, 2004 3:59 pm

Hi, everyone, I'm Jyu. whee I think by now, more people know me as that than Morgan, my real name... and certainly more than Margalit, my real-real name(as in, my Hebrew name). I've been Jyu for three years now... which is how long I've been using online forums and stuff.

Yep, I started on Neopets at age 10, graduated to Livejournal at age 11, and now reside there and here at Gaia, 13 years, 7 months, and 2 days. ^_^; I learned to roleplay and code stuff with HTML somewhere along those routes. I make a few nifty LJ layouts, if I do say so myself.

I live in southwestern Florida... and as I type this we're about to be hit by a category 3 hurricane(Charley). My house has been hit by quite a few hurricanes... we got a tree in our guest room, even. Who knows, this could be my last post. *spookyspooky*

My interests are basically anime-ing, writing, DDR, skimboarding(and surfing, when we actually get waves... x.x wink , performing at my theatre, and participating in anything at my temple.

I'm pretty observant in my Judaism, so it's a pretty big part of who I am. I was bat mitzvahed on March 20th of this year. I keep kosher, keep Shabbat(to a degree), go to shul, but I'm not orthodox. My goal in life is to become a rabbi. <3

I'm a Democrat... or I will be, whenever I can register. ^^; I worked on the Christine Jennings for Congress campaign(which is actually still going on), and helped out with the McBride for Governor campaign in 2002.

Any other random stuff... I dyed my hair purple twice, and I lived in Oklahoma for a month(I still feel like I live there, I go back every month).

I tend to never shut up. <3
