Its entrance hidden behind a painting of the Fat Lady, the Gryffindor common room is round and warm, filled with overstuffed armchairs and small tables. It has several windows and a large fireplace at one end. It is decorated mostly in warm colors.

Sky entered the dormitory through the portrait of the fat lady, isuing a rather soft "mint humbugs" to open the door. He frowned slightly as he did so; he hated their password. he couldnt wait till the fat lady thought up a new one. HE glanced around the common room; taking in the soft squishy armchairs with their scarlet coverings, the scarlet and gold wall hagnings emroidered with the gryffindor lion, and the moving portriats that hung in random places on the wall. his eyes fell on a particular armchair, illuminated by a broad square of sunlight pouring in around it so brightly in made the objects areound in look dark. Sky paused. he had been planning to read in his dormitory, but that sunspot was just too much to resist. he set his bag down at the foot of the chair, and took out his book, then settled himself comfortably into the chair and started to read.

"Oy! Ma'am?" Nyx called out politely. She had not set Isis down one step of the way, all ther way up the stairs to this point. "Mint humbugs, iffen ya' dun' mind."
"Nyx, you look positively dreadful! And what is that you're carrying? That better not be a stu-"
"M'lady? Mint humbugs! As'n open theh door?" The Fat lady huffed, finally swinging open the portrait and allowed Nyx to walk in. "Jesus... Tha' wasn't even particularly annoyin'." She glanced over at Sky and grunted in greeting while climbing the stairs to the fourth year Girl's dorms.
"Yeh may not be too happy 'bout this'n, Isis..."
