Since the cast of My HiME is pretty big, it's clear that a lot of different opinions will be floating around about the characters and such.

So here's the place for that sort of discussion.

Keep in mind, "____ Iz mah fave cuz he/she iz hawt!" is a good reason, sure, but it would be nice if you gave others a chance to discuss your opinion, rather than just making such a... 'blunt' statement.

Something like "____ is my favorite character because..." would be much better.

I guess I'll state my opinion for the record, since it's obvious anyways.

My favorite character is Kuga Natsuki. And Shizuru is also right up there...

Edit: K, fine. I'll obey my own rule. -_- Tch.


I'm not really sure why I like that character, since she's not particularly badass or strong.
The whole "I want revenge." thing was a little over done, but I really liked how she grew over time.

Things became a little less about revenge and a little more about understanding and accepting the truths of her situation.
It was cool that she was able to sort of put her main goal on the back burner, once the other HiMEs became a bit of a concern for her. (Much to her own dismay.)

Also, when the issue with the truth about her mother came about, I think she handled that rather well. It was shocking at first, but she chose to believe in what she knew, rather than what she was told.
That took a lot of character, I think.

Bah, in the end, she may not have been the best, but she had a really clear view of herself and of what she valued. So go Kuga, etc.

And I don't wanna keep blabbing about her now because I'll sound like a fangirl... even though it's painfully clear that I am one.

Wow, I loved so many characters, so this will probably be a long post.
Mai: Mai was the most developed character in my opinion. I somewhat disliked her whole goody-2-shoes, need to make everyone happy attitude, but she was the central character. I began liking her the most right after Takumi's death. Mai just rocked from then on, it was awsome. The drama involvin her was amazing. When Takumi and Tate died, I couldn't help but feel sad and let my eyes water a bit (I really get into good anime series). Specially since after Takumi's inexpected death, Tate's was even more unexpected. Mai was strog enough to lose her two most loved once...I wouldn't be able to survive something like that...
Mikoto: I loved Mikoto. She was innicent, spontaneous, and funny. She was the comic releaf of the Hime team. I also loved her weapon and the way she wielded it. I found it really cool that her weapon was as big as her and extremely heavy, and yet she used it to it's full potential.
Kuga: I liked Kuga's attitude. I especially liked her child. To me, Duran was one of the coolest ones. Just that fact makes Natsuki one of my faves. I began liking her even more when she went through the tough reality of her mother and her choice. I also liked the fact that she defeated Shizuru, knowing what would happen. No that, people, is what I call bravery.
Haruka: I know a lot of people hate Haruka, but I dont. I didnt really care for her at first, but she definitely moved up to being one of my favorite characters in her last few scenes. I thought it was amazing the way she lt Shizuru have a few smacks as she was dissapearing.
Reito: I liked Reito. His whole personality was cool. He was a nice guy. I didn't like the fact that he was Lord Kokuyo, but that wasn't up to him. I mean, he didnt choose to be posessed...I liked his whole competition with Tate, I found it amusing.
Akane: This might surprice some people, but I think Akane was great. She was a vital part to the story. The whole things really picked up when she lost her loved one. I think her child was one of the coolest looking, too bad he was only in 3 episodes. But I really felt sad when that happened to her. Her weapon was really cool too, one of my faves.
Shizuru: Crazy, I know. A lot might disagree with this, but I think she was great. I like lunatic character, and she was lunatic. Her facial expression when she lokked for and fought Himes was priceless. And the fact that she was a dyke was cool too. Not because of the fact that she was one, but because you don't usually see that in action animes.
Ok, I'll stop here. Sorry for stretching the page...

My favorite Character flip flops between Shizuru, Natsuki and Akira

Oh, man...I can't wait 'till the next season...

Im pretty sure it wont. However...how can there be another HiME war so soon after this one? I wonder how they'll explain that...And I hope they introduce new childs, since we already know these ones too well.

I like Natsuki, Akira, and Takumi. I like Natsuki, simply because I think she's awesome. I like how she follows up on things, I like how she fights for what she believes in and all that good stuff, but what made her my favorite was her aggressive attitude towards that lingerie thief Orphan. That was something that just make me... I don't know, respect her. It's that kind of little s**t that sells me on a character.

As for Akira and Takumi... I originally liked Takumi because he reminded me of myself, and I liked the way he looked, I thought he was cute. And, again, what sold me on him as a favorite was his relationship with Akira, which in turn made Akira one of my favorites.

Yea, I kinda liked Nao too. She was naughty....
